• Andrea reports positive headlines at Beyond News. She and her co-anchor are
treated like celebrities, and office runners move swiftly to make sure they look
and feel presentable.
• Andrea converses with Shane about how the news they broadcast never
sounds negative – how its too good to be true. Shane, however, has no doubts
about the company. He loves the limelight and his large cash flow.
• On her way out of work, Andrea passes by a narrowly opened room showing
raw footage of public distress. Moments after, the footage scrambles and the
door slams in front of her. She leaves work and on her way back through the
dark city she witnesses what appears to be a drug deal. However the people
Andrea sees belong to a truth activist cult. They flee the scene but accidentally
drop a leaflet with ‘THE TRUTH’ written in bold across the top.
• A warmly lit house awaits her arrival and she plonks herself on the couch with
the news channel switched on. Crime rates are low, stocks are high. Andrea
shifts her attention back to the leaflet, which reports the complete opposite.
