Logic Apps, API Apps & Mobile Apps in Azure
Hariharan Rajendran
Logic Apps
 Azure App Service is a fully managed PaaS (Platform as a Service) for
developers that makes it easier to build web, mobile, and integration
apps.
 Logic Apps are a part of this suite and allow any technical user or
developer to automate business process execution and workflow using
an easy-to-use visual designer.
Logic Apps
 Logic Apps allow developers to design workflows that start from a
trigger and then execute a series of steps. Each step invokes an API
whilst securely taking care of authentication and best practices, like
check pointing and durable execution.
 Easy to use design tools
 Compose SaaS easily
 Get started quickly from templates
 Extensibility baked-in
 Real integration horsepower
Logic Apps - Concepts
 Workflow - Logic Apps provides a graphical way to model your business
processes as a series of steps or a workflow.
 Managed APIs - Your logic apps need access to data and services. Managed
APIs are created specifically to aid you when you are connecting to and
working with your data. See the list of APIs available now in managed APIs.
 Triggers - Some Managed APIs can also act as a trigger. A trigger starts a
new instance of a workflow based on a specific event, like the arrival of an
e-mail or a change in your Azure Storage account.
 Actions - Each step after the trigger in a workflow is called an action. Each
action typically maps to an operation on your managed or custom API apps.
Logic Apps
 Conditional logic, which executes an action only when a certain
condition is met.
 Startup Options
 Manual
 Recurrence
 Through Endpoints
