Autotronics refers to the combination of automobile and electronics technologies. It began in the 1970s with the introduction of electronic engine controls and has since expanded to include anti-lock braking systems, airbags, infotainment systems, GPS, and advanced driver assistance features that receive signals via satellite. Autotronics now applies electronic control to braking, steering, suspension, transmission, and engine systems in modern automobiles.

2. WHAT IS AUTOTRONICS ??????
Auto-tronics is the combination of automobile and
electronics while hybrid refers to technology that
uses two or more distinct power sources to move
the vehicle.

(ENGINE CONTROL UNIT)

as it is named later as “Electronic Control Unit”.
 1970’s:Introduction of electronics for engine controls
 1980’s:anti-lock braking introduction
 Early 1990’s:Airbags become standard
 Late 1990’s: Rapid expansion of body electronics-seat motor’s, computers,
instrument panel lighting, auto locking systems and keyless entry
 Early’s 2000’s to date: infotainment, including sophisticated audio and video:

Capabilities : satellite radio
 Late 2000’s: steer-by-wire, wireless connectivity
