INTRODUCTION:
• Automation is a group of control systems,
sensors, switching networks, etc. used for
performing the assigned tasks.
• In general, Automated machines are
controlled by using Micro-Controllers which
are programmable, efficient, robust and
fast.
• Manual Automated machines are least
used, they are efficient in tasks involving
dangerous environments, laborious and
repetitive works and reduce Human-Effort.
INTRODUCTION:
• In Automated machines controllers generally are of
three types:-
1.Open and Closed loop,
2.Sequential or Logical Control,
3.Computer Control.
• Thermostats, sensors are examples for Closed and
Open loop controllers.
• Sequential and Logical Controllers find their
applications in Relays, Switching Systems, etc.
• ATM’s, Errors/Flaws Detection, Correction, etc. work
based on PLC’s(Programmable Logic Controller).
TRENDS:
• Automated Machines replace human labours to decrease
labour costs and human effort in Manufacturing Firms.
• These Machines are also used in Mining, Oil refining,
Chemicals Manufacturing, Medicine Synthesizers, etc.
• Their Attributes like efficiency, accuracy, speed are very useful
in Traffic Control, High-way Control, Automated Machines,
Computer-Aided Manufacturing, Industrial Ethernet.
• In the Field of Medicine, machines are used as Automated
Pacemakers, Dialysis Machines, Ambulance Drones, etc.
TRENDS:
• Automated Surveillance System and Lie-Detectors play a vital
role in Defence and Research Projects.
• Waste Collection Trucks are even Automated along with Fire-
Alarm Triggers, Home Appliances, Security Systems.
• In the field of Telecommunications and Networking,
Automated Systems are used for Data Encoding & Decoding,
Error Detection & Correction, Automatic Switching, Automated
Vendor Machines and ATM’s(Automated Teller Machines).
• Online Shopping, Net Banking, Sensex & Stock Markets also
use Programs Controlled by Computers.
INTEREST AREAS:
• Automated Machines are evolving towards Artificial
Intelligence which can even detect and predict Human
Responses and Emotions.
• In the Field of Agriculture, Research work is on-going which
will result in a Break-Through in the field of Production and
Automated Tractors and Robotic Pickers.
• Robotic Automated AI’s are made user-friendly for better
Hospitality services and helpful in Research & Development.
• Even in the field of Architecture and Building these Automated
Machines make the work easier and efficient.
INTEREST AREAS:
• I would be interested in doing internships in Automated
Machines in field of Production and Agriculture.
• Production field improvements result in cheap production of
consumer goods which will be helpful to reduce hunger
among poor.
Technology should help people to Stand, but not make them.
