CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Software trainingis one of the requirements to be fulfilledinorder to obtain the Bachelor’s
degree in technology. Each student needs to do software training in a recognized
company of their respective domain. The students are compulsory to do training for

planned, properly executed and evaluated software training helps a lot in developing a
professional attitude. It develops an awareness of software approach to problem solving,

never thinkof whileworking on the drawing board. We do not use the essential drawing board tools:
paper, pencil, T-square, compass, eraser or scale, yet still have to d e s i g n or make a drawing.
When even one of these tools is missing, we know how aggravating it can be. With CADD we
don’t need even one of them.
Computer-aided design (CAD) is the use of computer systems to assist in the creation, modification,
analysis, or optimization of a design. CAD software is used to increase the productivity of the
designer, improve the quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and to
create a database for manufacturing. CAD output is often in the form of electronic files for print,
machining, or other manufacturing operations.
Computer-aided design is used in many fields. Its use in designing electronic systems is known as
electronic design automation, or EDA. In mechanical design it is known as mechanical design
automation (MDA) or computer-aided design (CAD), which includes the process of creating a
technical drawingwiththe use of computer software. CAD software for mechanical designuses either
vector-based graphicsto depict the objects of traditionaldrafting,or mayalso produce raster graphics
showingthe overall appearance of designed objects. However, itinvolvesmorethan just shapes. As

OVERVIEW
Starting around the mid-1970s as computer aided design systems began to provide more capability
than just an ability to reproduce manual drafting with electronic drafting, the cost for companies to
switch to CAD became apparent. The benefit of CAD systems over manual drafting are the
capabilities one often takes for granted from computer systems today; automated generation of Bill
of Material, auto layout in integrated circuits, interference checking, and many others. Eventually
CAD provided thedesigner withthe abilityto perform engineeringcalculations. During this transition,
calculations were still performed either by hand or by those individuals that could run computer
programs. CAD was a revolutionary change inthe engineeringindustry, where draftsmen, designers
and engineering roles begin to merge. It did not eliminate departments, as much as It merged
departments and empowered draftsman, designers and engineers. CAD is just another example of the
pervasive effect computers were beginning to have onindustry.
CAD is used in the design of tools and machinery and in the drafting and design of all types of
buildings, from small residential types (houses) to t h e largest commercial andindustrial structures
(hospitals and factories).
CAD is mainly used for detailed engineering of 3D models and/or 2D drawings of physical
components, but it is also used throughout the engineeringprocess from conceptual design and layout
of products, throughstrengthanddynamicanalysisof assembliesto d e f i n i t i o n of manufacturing
methods of components. It can also be used to design objects. Furthermore, many CAD
applications now offer advanced rendering and animation capabilities so engineers can better visualize
their product designs. 4D BIM is a type of virtual construction engineering simulation incorporating
time or schedule related information for project management.
CAD has become an especially important technology within the scope of computer-aided
technologies, withbenefits such as lower product development costs and a greatly shortened design
cycle. CAD enables designers to layout and develop work on screen, print it out and save it for future
editing, saving time on their drawings.

Computer-aided design is one of the many tools used by engineers and designers and is used in many
ways depending on the profession of the user and the type of software inquestion.

CAD has been proven to be useful toe n g i n e e r s as well. Usingfourproperties whichare history,
features, parameterization, and high-level constraints. The construction history can be used to look
back into the model's personal features and work on the single area rather than the whole model.
Parameters and constraints can be used to determine the size, shape, and other properties of the
different modeling elements. The features in the CAD system can be used for the variety of tools for
measurement such as tensile strength, yieldstrength, electrical or electro-magnetic properties. Also, its
stress, strain, timingor how the element gets affected in certain temperatures, etc.

that is Autodesk and CADD is stands for feature of the software that is Computer Aided Designing
& Drafting.

ABOUT THE SOFTWARE
AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software application.
Developed and marketed by Autodesk, AutoCAD was first released in December 1982 as a
desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. Before AutoCAD
was introduced, most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe
computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics
terminal. Since 2010, AutoCAD was released as a mobile- and web app as well, marketed as
AutoCAD 360.

Language
Auto CAD and AutoCAD LT are available
for English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Chinese Simplified, Chinese
Traditional, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Czech, Polish and Hungarian.
Compatibility with other software
ESRI ArcMap 10 permits export as AutoCAD drawing files. Civil 3D permits export as
AutoCAD objects and as LandXML. Third-party file converters exist for specific formats such
as Bentley MX GENIO Extension, PISTE Extension (France), ISYBAU (Germany), OKSTRA
and Microdrainage (UK): also, conversion of .pdf files is feasible, however, the accuracy of the
results may be unpredictable or distorted.
Design
Design is the method of representing the surface of an object on a plane or a combination of
plane, in short total surface generation with or without dimensional & geometric constraints.
