Why I have chosen the genre I have
I have chosen the action genre because it is personally my favourite
genre to watch, therefore I can use my own knowledge of this genre as
ideas. Moreover, I can also use my own preferences towards the
producing of the film. This will also then guarantee it is all modern,
known and creative ideas which may have been used before, therefore,
I will then know if an audience likes that idea as it has already been
use. However, I will put my own creativity onto it to make it unique.
I have also chosen this genre because I think it will be fun to make and
there is also so many ideas which you could make in the action genre.
Therefore, no ideas are the same as the original.
Target audience• A target audience, is a selection of people who I would potentially be
aiming the video towards. For example, customers which I will aim to
please with the whole process and also the marketing and advertising
strategies. This will help towards more sales.
• The target audience for my film is based at 15 and over as this will be
an age restricted film. This is mainly because of the scenes which
mostly contain strong language and violence.
• This film will be based for all genders and all social grades.
Why I am targeting a certain audience
• I am targeting the over 15 year olds. This is because of the violence
and strong scenes involved in my film. However, it is proven teenagers
are the most to watch films. Therefore, this research will be involved
in the making of my film to make sure I aim for the right audience.
• Also another reason is because I am a teenager myself so it will
benefit because I will know what my age category enjoys.
Audience profile• Audience profile will be for information about a person who could
potentially be part of my target audience.
• Many important facts will be included such as their age and gender
will be also a main feature to this audience profile.
• Economic characteristics like employment, ownership, and social
characteristics such as lifestyle, leisure activities will also be included.
• For the two audience profiles I will be creating, will be one male and
one female. Therefore, I will get more information of what one from
each gender may like personally.
How has the audience profile helped?
• The audience profiles help by giving me ideas of what my potential
audience may look like.
Survey
• I have done a survey to get more ideas about the audience and what
they want regarding my short film.
• This survey includes 10 questions about different features to justify
in what I would put in my short film.
• Surveys help to know what different people want involving into
something. Therefore, I will use this data and include many of it
together to make a happy audience.
• Moreover, if I include things wat audiences say they want, this will
increase sales because they will want to pay to see it therefore, this
is good for marketing and sales.
Why did I ask certain questions?
• In the interview I will ask more detailed questions because it will
expand on the publics thoughts. This is so I know what is wanted
exclusively.
• I will mention that in the questionnaire also because it will narrow the
search on what to include.
• The audience is the most important part of the marketing as if there
is no audience there will be no one to watch.
