The documentary and radio advert received mostly positive feedback from audiences on YouTube and Facebook. Comments praised the choice of music, use of cutaways, and range of viewpoints presented in interviews. Some criticisms included an abrupt ending that could have been improved with fade effects and a narrator with a one-tone voice and stutter. The radio advert received praise for its style though some noted background noise that could be fixed. While most liked the background music, some felt it did not fit the genre. The poster advert was said to look professional by following Channel 4 conventions with a dramatic image and simple color scheme.
2. We uploaded the documentary and the radio
advert to Youtube to recive comments from the
public about our work and to view their opinions.
3. After uploading the videos, I also shared the
videos on Facebook as a way of receiving
comments. These are some of the comments I
received.
4.
5.
6. The production received a lot of positive comments which
mention the choice of music quite often and the use of sound
editing to make the music quiter when someone was
speaking .
Some commented on the style of our productions to fit the
Channel 4 style and BBC 3 style with the use of their logo and
its positioning.
The use of cutaways were mentioned a few times which were
described to be more entertaining by changing the shots but
keeping them relevant.
The focus point of the documentary was noted a few times by
saying “it was different seeing the art itself” and the “range of
viewpoints” in our interviews which was our aim whilst in the
filming process.
7. There were also comments of improvement about our
production such as the ending being described as “
finishing abruptly” which we could have improved on by
using fade effects to show the end of the scene.
There were also comments
On the narrator having a
“1 tone voice” and a “stutter”
Which means we could have
Rerecorded the voiceover
And the radio advert to
Improve the narration.
9. We received lots of positive feedback for our
radio advert apart from a comment on the sound
saying there was 'static' and 'background noise'
which may be due to the editing of the sound
levels and a sound effect could have been used
to fix that issue. Also the choice of background
music received some contrasting comments,
some liked the choice of music but a comment
said that the music confused them on the genre
of the documentary as it was quite a dramatic
instrumental which may have been the wrong
choice but we chose that music to express the
different more in depth theme on body art.
11. Our poster advertisement received lots of
positive feedback stating it looked
“professional” and said it looked like a real
Channel 4 advert, this is because we followed
the conventions of a poster advert with the
dramatic eye catching image with the channel
logo in the same layout as the existing
channel 4 adverts with a simple colour
scheme to contrast against the image.
