Catherine Goodwin completed her service learning assignment at a UCP inclusion school located in a small shopping plaza in Lake Mary, Florida. She enjoyed spending one-on-one time with the students during activities like pumpkin carving and an apple orchard day. The classroom had students from pre-K to kindergarten with a variety of ethnicities and exceptionalities represented. Goodwin was impressed by how the school fostered independence in students and differentiated instruction to meet individual needs. She saw the positive impact this had on students and learned the importance of differentiation and seeing struggles as teaching opportunities.

Everyone danced and enjoyed themselves, not wanting the event to end. However, it was time for the seniors to depart and begin their careers, parting with best wishes from the NIMCJ community.

I was very shy as a young child and socially immature. I had no fear of speaking or performing but I also had no outlet for it. The elementary school I attended did not put on plays or concerts so even though I wanted to be an actress I never had the chance. When I went to junior high my whole world opened up. I joined chorus and even though I didn't have the best voice I loved preforming. In 7th grade we put on a musical "Cinderella" and I tried out for the lead. I did not get it but my best friend did so I swallowed my disappointment and decided to be the best dirty laundry ever to be on stage. I got to sing a duet and dance. I also got a small role as the girl with Cinderella when she meets prince charming. I felt very special to have 2 roles and the best part was the boy I had a crush on was dirty laundry also. (Prince charming was a total loser!!) The play was a hit and we were invited to perform for our local Rotary club the next week. Off stage I was still very shy and a wall flower but on stage I could be anything I wanted. I did other plays and concerts over the years but the success of this one has always stayed with me. This one play changed me in a lot of ways. It opened up the dramatic world to me and taught me how to react to disappointments. I was able to make the best out of the situation and enjoy the roles I got. I often think about this experience and still 27 years later catch myself singing the songs from the musical.
Creative dramatics (Isbell & Raines,2013) uses both mental and physical skills and envolves the whole child. For me it was the outlet I was looking for but for other children it may seem overwhelming. I plan to use my experiences to guide my classroom through the different stages of drama from pantomime, puppet shows and story telling. I will be able to recognize the differences in the children and know that Johnny wants the lead but Alice would rather be a tree. Both roles are important to the success of our performance and Alice can be the best tree ever while Johnny can enhance his vocabulary be learning the lines. Every child can benefit from drama as long as the teacher is supportive and understands how important creative drama can be.

Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Building Production Ready Search Pipelines with Spark and Milvus
Spark is the widely used ETL tool for processing, indexing and ingesting data to serving stack for search. Milvus is the production-ready open-source vector database. In this talk we will show how to use Spark to process unstructured data to extract vector representations, and push the vectors to Milvus vector database for search serving.

- 1. FEEDBACK FROM PERFORMANCE ON WEDS 22ND FEB 2012 I just wanted to say what a fab performance it was last night. I am really glad I made the effort to come along. The students were really professional, the acting was superb and the storyline was great. WELL DONE ALL ! Debbie Bartley (Student Support) I think the group did an amazing job, to think they did all of it themselves! I thoroughly enjoyed the show, I thought it was imaginative, funny and touching and that all the students gave a fantastic performance. Please congratulate your creative and media group for me Miss Lodge (Yr11 Tutor and ICT Teacher) It was such an honour to be part of the audience yesterday and such a joy as HOY. The performance was amazing and it was evident that all the students were passionate in what they were doing. The storyline, the characters and the production as a whole ticked all the right boxes and was full of emotion. As a member of the audience I did not want to take my eyes of the stage and was hooked throughout. It had it all – humour, seriousness, a deeper meaning, and was very thought provoking. It is fantastic to know that students can produce, direct and write such a mind blowing production and more so to feel proud of all their hard work. I was so moved by all of the team yesterday and was in tears as I was so overjoyed. My final sentence would be….. The whole team were truly inspirational and I admire everyone of them and know they will be successful in whatever they do – I love them all. Kuljit Suri (Head of Year 11)
- 2. FEEDBACK FROM PERFORMANCE ON THURS 23RDFEB 2012 It was fab!! Really put a smile back on my face after a difficult day and I was so impressed by the music and choreography (as well as the comic timing of the police!!) What a talented bunch – very well done to you all! Rob Ind (Head of Pastoral Team) I thought it was fabulous and really enjoyed myself. I really liked the mix of high tension scenes between some of the girls, mixed with the exceptionally timed comedy from the boys. The scene changes were very slick and I thought the backdrops were very innovative. Brilliant performance, well done to all involved! Christophe Guiterez (Head of Year 7) I was truly amazed at the standard of performance by the students who took part. They were all very convincing and professional. I forgot I was in a classroom and really became captivated by the storyline. I am so glad I came to see the performance and look forward to the next one. The hard work that went into the performance was tremendous and it makes me proud to say I work in a school where students work so hard and give up their time to provide entertainment for us to enjoy. - 3. Overall this was an excellent performance and very enjoyable. This was even more the case seeing as the C & M group wrote, directed and produced the performance from start to finish. Very impressive indeed. All the performers did a good job but some of the leads in particular: George Streather – very convincing in his role with definite acting talent PamyanIslamzadeh – superb as the prison boss Michael McCauley – excellent with a range of skills and talents Logan Jones – really good, funny, taking role in his stride Sara Khan – stunning all round Zahra Printer – excellent RajanHanda – really good And the Year 7 boy was brilliant. Please pass on my thanks to all the performers. Peter Stumpf (Deputy Headteacher) The performance was amazing. I am so proud of all the year 11 students who wrote, performed and directed it. It was very moving to see them all up there, and enjoying what they were doing. They should all be very proud of themselves and use it as a lesson to know that if they want to do something they can achieve it, whatever it may be. The performance itself had a brilliant message and I would love for more members of the school to be able to see it, as I think a lot of our students could learn a great deal from it.
