Synopsis
The Farmer
This film is about the hardships faced by our farmers. It is a story of a farmer’s journey
trying to make a living from his farm. He is exploited by the local sahukar who has his eyes
on his farm. Even the various government schemes to help farmers are of no use due to
bride demanding officers. The farmer is forced to think that the way out of all this trouble is
to hang himself!
Mentor Experience
Prof. Rahul Bhosekar
I still remember the day when all the faculties were having a meeting in the studio for
planning the next year curriculum. While discussing it was decided that we would be
making 7 animated short films. The reason to make the film was simple. We wanted the
students to experience the process of how a production house makes a film. In the next few
meetings, I came to know I will be directing The Farmer movie. So students were divided
into various groups and finally our first meeting was held. It was a full energy meeting.
Each student came up with good ideas for the story for the film. Sweatboxing sessions were
the day when we had to present our month long work to our dean and an industry mentor.
I would see all students trying very hard to complete the assigned work in the days before
our sweatboxing sessions. Every sweatboxing of the farmer team went very well with each
student completing his task very efficiently. As it is said filmmaking is not a single person’s
job, I would clearly see why it is said so, each student's contribution, how little it might be,
was really notable.
Each student understood the industry pipelines for making an animated film. Making The
Farmer film was one the best experiences that I would cherish lifelong. I will never forget
the day of the premiere of the film, after it finished. I just wanted to hug each student and
congratulate them for their beautiful, creative and remarkable work. The energy in that
auditorium was full of joy, the task which looked impossible some months back was
completed, but it made us hungry for more.
JAI FARMER!

Students’ Experience
Mr. Yash Palicha -
I was in the movie named The Farmer. While working for this animation movie, I made lots
of memories and good experiences from my junior's and as well as mentor Prof Rahul Sir.
While working I learned many new things from everyone like perseverance, making new
ideas and teamwork. I would like to mention here that Rahul Sir was a great support
system. We had lots of fun while making the movie but also had come up with some
difficulties but we stood up together and resolved the problem. I had a great experience
with the team farmer. My team also taught me how to tackle any kind of situation.
So, thank you so much team! And a big thank you to Rahul Sir, Rishi Sir, Kamran Sir and
other mentors who stood beside us and motivated us and guided us to complete the movie.
Mr. Taha Gabuji –
My experience about the movie Farmer is difficult to express in one word. It was a
wonderful experience working with a very talented and hardworking team. Each and every
one in the team came up with beautiful ideas for the story. As everything started step by
step, we were given deadlines to finish the given task. All teammates were busy in their
work to complete the tasks.
We were following the animation pipeline and doing all possible things to get the best out
of the team. The movie was divided into three production phases, viz. Pre-production, Post
production and Production. Being in the pre-production section, I participated in doing
character illustrations and management for the team as I am not fond of sketching.
Time passes quickly, especially if you have a deadline to meet! Our days too passed quickly
and before we knew it was sweatboxing where the team and our mentor Prof Rahul Sir
were tensed as we were to present our work and progress on the movie to our respected
dean Prof. Dr. Rishi Aacharya. He would share his opinion & give us feedback on our work
and correct our faults and tell us to redo it for the next sweatboxing target.
Like this we had many sweatboxing sessions, some good times and bad times together.
Days passed, months passed and the movie was coming to an end. And our movie got
released in Kalotsav, our college’s annual gathering & fest. This function was on for 7 days
and we had different themes for each day. I was very excited about the function and seeing
our movie getting released on the big screen.
At the time of release of the movie the whole team was super excited and we were also
apprehensive on how it would be received by the audience; our colleagues, our faculties &

more than everything our families, who had come to cheer us up. Our movie mentor Rahul
Sir had tears in his eyes when we saw the movie on the big screen. The whole farmer team
was called on the stage to capture this memory in a photograph which will never be
forgotten. We all team members came out of the hall and congratulated each other, hugging
them, shaking hands and clicking pictures.
The year 2019 will always be memorable. I had a really great time with the mentors and
my beloved friends. The Farmer, to most people, is a short film of 6 minutes. But to me and
the team, it has been a journey rich with experience and learning.
There have been some valuable lessons that we will carry on forever like teamwork,
working under pressure & respecting each other’s diversity and different opinions. I
proudly say JAI FARMER.
Mr. Probal Chatterjee –
I am a second year student of PAI College of VEDA. In the first year, I was a part of one of
the 7 VEDA animation short films - The Farmer.
The movie is based on the life struggle of our farmers. It was a very good and beautiful film.
The story was written by Yash Palicha. Our team mentor was Prof Rahul Bhosekar. He is a
very generous mentor, very peace-minded and very helpful in nature. He helped me a lot in
the production work, voice-over recording and scriptwriting. He always encouraged us to
give our best work output for the movie. I am very happy that he was our mentor in our
movie.
It was a very lovely journey. The entire production was a big learning experience. While
working on the film, we learned how to work in a movie from scratch all the way up to the
final output.
This short film also gave us an experience of how to do teamwork in production. Our whole
team was very energetic. During this film, we lost one of our friends so it became more
important for us to make this film as great as we could, and at last, we did it and our college
created 7 animated short films within a year! I am very proud to be part of the animated
short film “THE FARMER” and part of this college.
Mr. Vaibhav Thorat –
My experience of working on the film project was astonishing! Literally, it taught us a lot
like teamwork, discussion, technicalities, critical thinking, analysis, making mistakes and
correcting them etc. I had the leverage of meeting and interacting with many people
including both older and younger than me plus having so many people working in just one
5. 5
direction together was just a wonderful thing to see. Being a part of such a huge and lovely
family is an unforgettable memory for me.
Making a movie was not a piece of cake, it was a challenge. In the very early phase of our
project we were excited and confused about almost everything but a huge thanks to our
mentor Prof Rahul Sir who stood behind us every single day and without his contribution,
the film would not have been possible.
We started from the scratch to build the empire days after days, week after weeks we kept
working mixing our sweat and blood 😂🤪
We actually got to learn about hard work, perseverance and patience. Overall those were
The Bestest Days Of My Clg Life.
