This document discusses several analytical chemistry techniques: flame emission spectroscopy which uses the intensity and wavelength of light emitted from a flame to identify elements; inductively coupled plasma which involves using a plasma to excite elemental emissions; and gas chromatography which separates and analyzes compounds via differences in volatility and affinity for a mobile and stationary phase.
