Challenge:
Pakistan is faced with multi-faceted conflicts – religious, political, social, sectarian,
and economic. It is essential to address these challenges through engagement,
peace building and empowerment initiatives at every level especially university
graduates and youths. According to the youth ministry, almost 60 per cent of
Pakistan’s population is under the age of 25, a ratio higher in areas such as Khyber
Pakhtunkhawa and FATA.
Poor social conditions precipitated with socio-economic backwardness; poor
governance, high population growth, poor education, lack of skill-development,
infrastructure facility, the war against terrorism; its consequences and impact and
little awareness among parents of how to protect their children from radicalization
has made the youth of these areas very vulnerable to an uninformed, skewed and
dangerous discourse.
Therefore, engagement with young people and providing them with career
managing skills and empowering them for an informed point of view was thought to
be an effective initiative.

empowerment Initiative” or Secrets of the Career Success is designed for the

not find the right direction or position because of lack of career education,
orientation sessions- what to choose(subject) and how to choose their career,
business, profession or vocation compatible with their personality(aptitude, values,
interests, skills)
The program will provide the targeted youths with an opportunity to interact in
preparing for a journey of self reflection, personal development, critical thinking,
effective management of conflicts and career decisions and to realize their
potentials in their chosen fields.
The trainees will be empowered and prepared to wok as Career Counselors, young
leaders, ambassadors of success and peace in their respective institutes and to
empower the youths in realizing their potentials.
The subject matter is approached through orientation sessions, lectures, discussion,
group work and exercises, motivational and critical thinking videos, and case studies.
