Abstract: Quality graphic novels can be as challenging and complex as written texts. While the predominantly visual format of graphic novels may readily capture students’ attention, guidance from teacher librarians and teachers can be invaluable in cultivating and refining the skills necessary to probe the depth and richness of these publications.
Attendees will learn how to guide students to discover this richness as well as how to identify specific techniques used by the creators of graphic novels. A close investigation of two selected graphic novels will operate as examples to provide the necessary signposts for teachers to become more confident in the reading, processing, critical analysis and evaluation of graphic novels.

FINAL REPORT: eTwinauts in the (in)visible cities
This project report summarizes a collaborative project between 5 schools in 4 countries called "eTwinauts in the (in)visible cities". The project was inspired by Italo Calvino's novel "Invisible Cities" and aimed to build understanding between cultures through activities in various subjects. Over 100 students and 13 teachers from Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, and Norway participated in online forums, wikis, and video conferences to discuss European culture, mathematics, sciences, literature and more. The multi-year project received several awards and helped students develop skills like respecting other cultures, teamwork, and managing online resources.
Interdisciplinary Lesson Plan ICT-Art

This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
