THE BASICS OF UNIVERSAL DESIGN
 “The design of products and environments to be usable by all
  people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for
  adaptation or specialized design” (Center for UD)
 A goal and process that can be
applied to any product or environment
 It is NOT a „one size fits all‟ idea
 Diversity and inclusion are both valued
 Making something accessible for people
with disabilities benefits not only those
 with the disability, but also those without
disabilities
IMPLEMENTING UNIVERSAL DESIGN
      IN THE CLASSROOM
 Goal of universal design                      Principles of UD:
