The Judging
Process
Awards Categories
1. Financial, Legal and Professional Services (Employer/Apprentice)
2. Health, Medical and Social Care (Employer/Apprentice)
3. Retail, Hospitality and Tourism (Employer/Apprentice)
4. Charity, Voluntary Organisations and Public Services (Employer/Apprentice)
5. Construction (Employer/Apprentice)
6. Engineering and Manufacturing (Employer/Apprentice)
7. Creative and Digital (Employer/Apprentice)
8. Transport and Logistics (Employer/Apprentice)
9. Small Medium Enterprise up to 250 employees
10.Large Business of the Year 250+ employees
11.School or Academy of the Year
12.Learning Provider of the Year
Judging and Shortlisting
 Each Nomination will be assessed by at least 2 Judges
 Each Nomination will be judged on its own merit
 Nominations will be scored following the Judging criteria
 5 Apprentices will be shortlisted for each Sector Category
 3 Employers will be shortlisted for each Sector Category
 Large & Small Employers will be filtered through and put into the
relevant shortlisting
 3 Schools or Academies will be shortlisted
 5 Learning Providers will shortlisted
 Those with highest scoring average will win the Award Category
 In the event a decision cannot be made the head judge will refer back
to the judges for extra feedback
Apprentices Criteria
 Apprentice must show that they had some level of interest in
apprenticeships prior to starting.
 Apprentice to show that they could see the positive outcomes from
undertaking an apprenticeship programme. Apprentice must show that
they have seen themselves progress throughout their apprenticeship.
 Apprentice must show evidence of their learning in the form of
achievements or reviews.
 Apprentice must be able to talk about one area of their field, what they
have learnt and how it will impact their future.
 Apprentice must show a willingness to win the award.
 Apprentice must express the understanding of the value of the awards.
 Apprentice must express how they will use the awards if they win.
Employers Criteria
 Employer must be able to talk about how they have/are supporting
apprentices through apprenticeships.
 Employer must be able to talk about the range of apprenticeships they
provide.
 Employer must be able to present the number of apprentices they have
supported and how many have successfully completed their
apprenticeship.
 Employer must show evidence of one apprentice who has in their career
using their apprenticeship.
 Employer must be able to talk about how they reach out to potential
Asian apprentices.
 Employer must show a willingness to win the award.
 Employer must express the understanding of the value of the awards.
 Employer must express how they will use the awards if they win.

Asian apprenticeship awards 2017 award sectors

  • 3. Awards Categories 1. Financial, Legal and Professional Services (Employer/Apprentice) 2. Health, Medical and Social Care (Employer/Apprentice) 3. Retail, Hospitality and Tourism (Employer/Apprentice) 4. Charity, Voluntary Organisations and Public Services (Employer/Apprentice) 5. Construction (Employer/Apprentice) 6. Engineering and Manufacturing (Employer/Apprentice) 7. Creative and Digital (Employer/Apprentice) 8. Transport and Logistics (Employer/Apprentice) 9. Small Medium Enterprise up to 250 employees 10.Large Business of the Year 250+ employees 11.School or Academy of the Year 12.Learning Provider of the Year
  • 4. Judging and Shortlisting  Each Nomination will be assessed by at least 2 Judges  Each Nomination will be judged on its own merit  Nominations will be scored following the Judging criteria  5 Apprentices will be shortlisted for each Sector Category  3 Employers will be shortlisted for each Sector Category  Large & Small Employers will be filtered through and put into the relevant shortlisting  3 Schools or Academies will be shortlisted  5 Learning Providers will shortlisted  Those with highest scoring average will win the Award Category  In the event a decision cannot be made the head judge will refer back to the judges for extra feedback
  • 5. Apprentices Criteria  Apprentice must show that they had some level of interest in apprenticeships prior to starting.  Apprentice to show that they could see the positive outcomes from undertaking an apprenticeship programme. Apprentice must show that they have seen themselves progress throughout their apprenticeship.  Apprentice must show evidence of their learning in the form of achievements or reviews.  Apprentice must be able to talk about one area of their field, what they have learnt and how it will impact their future.  Apprentice must show a willingness to win the award.  Apprentice must express the understanding of the value of the awards.  Apprentice must express how they will use the awards if they win.
  • 6. Employers Criteria  Employer must be able to talk about how they have/are supporting apprentices through apprenticeships.  Employer must be able to talk about the range of apprenticeships they provide.  Employer must be able to present the number of apprentices they have supported and how many have successfully completed their apprenticeship.  Employer must show evidence of one apprentice who has in their career using their apprenticeship.  Employer must be able to talk about how they reach out to potential Asian apprentices.  Employer must show a willingness to win the award.  Employer must express the understanding of the value of the awards.  Employer must express how they will use the awards if they win.
