This document discusses a study that surveyed the availability and utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) facilities in tertiary institutions in Niger State, Nigeria. The study involved 150 lecturers from three federal tertiary institutions who completed a questionnaire. The results showed that ICT facilities were inadequately provided across the institutions. Specifically, desktop computers and internet access for lecturers, digital libraries, and institutional websites were largely unavailable. Some facilities like multimedia classrooms and audiovisual equipment had higher availability in colleges of education compared to universities and polytechnics. Overall, the findings indicated that ICT facilities and their effective use for teaching and research purposes needed to be improved in the tertiary institutions surveyed.

This study investigated how using a cooperative computer instruction (CCI) approach could enhance students' understanding of algebra concepts, compared to individualized computer instruction (ICI) and conventional classroom instruction. 60 secondary school students in Nigeria were given a pre-test and post-test on mathematics achievement. Students who used CCI performed better on the post-test than those using ICI or conventional instruction. However, there was no significant difference in performance between male and female students using CCI or ICI. The study concluded that teachers should be encouraged to use cooperative computer instruction to improve student performance in mathematics concepts.

Mobile learning anytime, anywhere: What are our students doing?

Recent developments in mobile technologies have provided unique opportunities for learning and teaching. This paper reports on recent research undertaken at a regional Australian university in order to understand how higher education students are using mobile devices to support their learning. A survey instrument was developed and deployed and the data collected analysed quantitatively. Upon analysis, these data demonstrate that students are predominantly using laptop computers to support their learning, but their use of smart phones and tablets are also used for a number of specific learning activities. Further analysis indicates that in spite of the limitations in the formal university infrastructure, many students would like to use their mobile devices for formal learning as well as informal learning.

This work examined the extent Information resources provision of National Open University of Nigeria meet the information needs of their students in Southeast Nigeria. Three research questions guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised 42,200 NOUN Students from four study centers in southeast out of which 2111 were sampled. Random sampling technique was used to draw the sample. Instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire. Its reliability was established using Cronbach alpha. Data collected was analyzed using arithmetic mean. From the analysis, given that the various information resources needed by students are to a high extent, more so the provided information resources by NOUN to its students to meet their information need are to a low extent. However these were not without challenges ranging from poor funding, inadequate provision of information resources, and irregular power supply and so on but they further highlighted some solutions to the challenges. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the stakeholders should oftentimes conduct a resources verification exercise on the resources and facilities of the NOUN programme and they should also ensure that the policy and the vision statement that established the NOUN programme are strictly followed.

ABSTRACT: The information technology incorporated in education provides a vision of better quality education facilitated through the adoption and promotion of IT. In education IT is helpful to provide database, to provide students access to digital technologies and internet in and outside the classroom and provides self paced learning through the tools like assignment and evaluation of learners. it also provide quality digital content access to the teachers immediate two way communication between teacher and learner. This study assessed the impact of technology integration and motivation on teaching and learning statistics in selected public universities in Ghana. A survey was conducted with 200 faculty and students from 4 universities. The results found that integrating technology and increasing motivation greatly improved students' academic performance in statistics. Technology allows for more interactive learning and access to information. While technology integration benefits education, some challenges remain like inadequate training and unreliable infrastructure. Overall, the study concluded that technology integration, when combined with motivation, can significantly enhance how statistics is taught and learned.

Generally, it is agreed that information and communication technology (ICT) promotes easier planning and preparation of lessons; helps teachers to have access to up-to-date learners and school data anytime and anywhere. This is especially significant in this Covid era where hybrid education is being promoted. Therefore, this study investigated the knowledge of basic school teachers in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality in the use of ICT for lesson preparation and delivery. One hundred and two (102) out of five hundred and ten (510) basic school teachers were sampled using the simple random sampling technique for the study. A questionnaire and an observation checklist were used to collect data from the teachers. Data were coded into the IBM-SPSS version 21 to generate descriptive statistics (frequency counts and percentages) for the analyses. Findings from the study revealed that 92.2% of basic school teachers in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality agreed that ICT is a diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate and to create, disseminate, store and manage information. The basic school teachers were of the view that the use of ICT in lesson delivery comes with lots of benefits to their classroom instructional practices. The findings further revealed that basic school teachers in the municipality have basic knowledge in ICT use but do not use this knowledge in their lesson delivery due to factors such as constant changes in technology, cost of ICT tools, limited time allocation for ICT lessons in the schools, technical nature of ICT, lack of ICT laboratories, and network facilities in schools for teachers and students. The study recommended that more time should be allocated for the teaching of ICT in basic schools and also, basic school teachers should be given constant ICT training through workshops and refresher courses to boost their competencies in using ICT in their lesson preparation and classroom instructional practices.

This study examined the effects of using Web 2.0 tools in online science courses designed according to the 5E learning model on student achievement and digital literacy. It found that the use of Web 2.0 tools had a significant positive effect on student achievement in the experimental group, but no significant differences in digital literacy scores between the experimental and control groups. Interviews with students in the experimental group found that lessons using Web 2.0 tools were more interesting. Observations also showed students had a positive attitude towards lessons using Web 2.0 tools. In summary, the study provided support for using Web 2.0 tools in online science courses.

Despite the diverse opportunities digital technologies offer that enhance learning and improve instructional practice, the main challenge faced by many institutions is the distracting effects of hyper-connectivity caused by mobile devices during learning activities. Some students find it difficult to balance online leisure activity with school work because of the guilty pleasures associated with using certain types of media. The failure of college students to reduce distractions from academic cyberloafing could negatively impact their achievement of academic success. This scholarly paper is designed to explore how contemporary research has investigated this emerging phenomenon to better understand important strategies for control.

It finds that a lack of adequate investment in ICT infrastructure has led to high costs of internet services, impacting the expansion of e-learning programs in Zambia. The quality of internet is also poor, making online learning delivery challenging. Additionally, attitudes and cultural issues present barriers to e-learning. Africa has received little investment in ICT compared to other regions, negatively impacting the integration of e-learning. The paper concludes more must be done to improve investment in ICT infrastructure in Zambia to enhance the growth of e-learning.

This document summarizes a research study on the use of information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool to facilitate teaching and learning of business education in colleges in Nigeria. The study involved an experimental group of 30 students who were taught using ICT tools and a control group of 30 students who were not. Test results showed that the experimental group performed significantly better, indicating that exposure to ICT leads to better academic performance. A low positive correlation was also found between students' test scores and their overall academic achievement, suggesting ICT skills contribute to learning. The researchers concluded ICT is an effective way to enhance students' skills and achievement in business education when integrated into the curriculum.

Adaptive Online Learning was one of the solutions of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to have continuous education during pandemic. Innovative technological platform such as Learning Management System (LMS) served as a ground for compiling student requirements submission vital for identifying how well a student meets the standard course requirements. With the aid of predictive analytics included in LMS student can easily monitored their grades and submission, having a positive sign of inclusion to graduation on given time frame. While LMS was highly accepted in the Philippine Educational System, factors to consider in developing student academic performance with prediction was left unexplored. Thus, this study aimed to determine the software factors (trust, context, compatibility, security, complexity) and access method (devices used to access LMS, internet speed) significance to students’ attitude towards using the system through modified TAM among college students at higher educational institutions. The results showed that performance usefulness was influence by perceived ease of use while behavioral intention to use also show significant influence to attitude towards using the system.

This study investigated the effects of GeoGebra software package on the mathematics performance of senior secondary students with dyscalculia in Bayelsa State Nigeria. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were answered and tested at 0.05 significant level respectively. The pretest post test quasi experimental research design was employed. Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children Fifth Edition WISC V was used to identify and select a sample of 38 students with dyscalculia. TCAT was used to measure students’ performance in Trigonometry. The KR 21 was used to obtain a reliability index of 0.81.The descriptive statistic and Analysis of Covariance ANCOVA were employed for statistical data analysis. The study found that the use of GeoGebra software package improved the performance of dyscalculic students in trigonometry than those who were taught with deductive teaching method. The study also found that there no significant difference between effect of the use of GSP to teach the male and the female dyscalculic students trigonometry over the use of DIM. It was therefore recommended that mathematics teachers should embrace the use of technology Geogebra software and other innovative instructional strategies to enhance the academic performance of students with dyscalculia. Akinpelu founded the community of Agbaada in the late 18th century after leaving the collapsing Oyo empire with his family and followers. The name Agbaada comes from when his junior brother said "it is good to attain old age" when Akinpelu insisted on settling there. In 1821 under the third leader Adenle Atologuntele, the community moved to its present location of Malete upon the request of the ruler of Iseyin. Agbaada land remains an important ancestral home and farming area. It is bounded by several other communities and features attractive natural areas like mountains that were historically used for hunting.

This document discusses a study that examined the effect of video-based mobile learning on distance learners' academic performance in mathematics concepts. The study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups - an experimental group that received video-based mobile learning and a control group that received traditional lecture-based learning.
