1. Naturalism
Naturalism refers to real objects in a real setting. The Realist movement in
the 19th century led to Naturalism expanding amongst artists. Naturalism is
very similar to Realism. Two fantastic naturalist artists were William Bliss
Baker and Albert Charpin.
Realism
Realism is an accurate detailed depiction of nature and life. Realism does
not deal again that is out of the ordinary. Realism really only started to
come into play in France around the 19th. Realism is the direct opposite of
Surrealism which we studied earlier on in the year.
Some examples of Realist artists would be Gustave Courbet and Jean
Francois Millet.
Carl W Rohrig
CarlW Rohrig was born in Munich in 1953.Today the artist works in
Switzerland, He is the founder of fantastic naturalism and has created over
3000 paintings. His artwork is known all over the world today. Carl’s
unorthodox work is very much admired by many art lovers.
The Blue Planet
This painting is in my opinion meant to replicates our planet Earth. But
Rohrig does very well in bringing what he feels the planet earth looks like. I
feel that maybe this is meant to be a futuristic image of what our dying
Earth will look like in the future. The trees in this painting have no leaves
which for me implicates their being no life on Earth
Rainforest Destruction
In my opinion this painting is meant to replicates how we humans have
destroyed our rainforests by cutting down trees and not considering their
natural beauty. Rohrig does this by showing a human hand lifting trees
from the ground. I really like the way Rohrig shows this.
2. We only have this World
In my opinion this painting replicates how we only have one world and we
are destroying it. Rohrig does this very in this painting by showing our Earth
falling apart. I feel he is trying to show how we need to look after our world
or it will destroy itself bit by bit
