8. Create your own Blitz skylines!
What you need to do:
– Create your background first. Ideally use a range of colours (pencil,
chalk, watercolours, pastels) to create an ombre that gradually
shifts from light to dark (on a plain piece of paper).
– On some black or dark paper, carefully sketch out an the London
skyline during the 1940s (no London Eye, Gherkin, Shard, etc. yet!).
Make sure it is the same length as your background but not taller as
you’ll cover your ombre.
– Accurately cut out your skyline and place it over your background so
it’s a silhouette.
– You may wish to add some spotlights and airplanes for effect!
– Voila! (see subsequent pages for some examples).
Of course you could sketch, paint or use some paper from
magazines/newspapers to create a collage. Failing resource,
using Paint on you computer. Be creative! Take a picture of
your artwork and upload it as a blog post or file.
