XiVO is a free software telecom business engine created in 2005 that is downloaded 50-70 times per day. It uses a microservices architecture with components like RabbitMQ, Consul, Postgres, and Asterisk. The presentation discusses XiVO's contributions to Asterisk, its use of ARI through the xivo-ctid-ng service, and ideas to improve ARI like adding more channel variables and an in-memory database. The presenters love ARI for its ease of testing but have some requested features and questions about scaling to multiple Asterisk servers.
