Ludwig Van Beethoven And Ludwig Van Beethoven s Nine...
Beethoven s Nine Symphonies Introduction Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer and
Pianist of German origin and he is one of the famous composers to date. He is an important
figure in the change between the classical music to Romantic era in Western music. Beethoven
showed musical talent a young age and his father Johann Van Beethoven and composer
Christian Gottlob Neefe were his teachers. At 21, Joseph Haydn became his teacher in Vienna
and he taught him about composition. During his late 20s, Beethoven started to lose his hearing
and this progressed until he was almost totally deaf in his last years. In 1881 Beethoven stopped
performing in public and chose to focus on composing and during this time he wrote some of his
best compositions. Beethoven passed away on March 26, 1827. In August 1845, the Beethoven
monument in Bonn was unveiled making it the first monument ever of a composer. The nine
symphonies are one of his greatest compositions. 1.Symphony No. 1 Symphony No. 1 was a
dedication to Beethoven s early patron named Baron Gottfried Van Swieten. Hoffmeister and
Kuhnel of Leipzig published the symphony in 1801. The symphony is in C major, opus number
21 and was composed between 1795 to 1801. Symphony No. 1 is influenced by Beethoven s
teacher Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but has features that make it stand out as
Beethoven s work. The opening of the Symphony took place on April 2, 1800, in Vienna.
Performance of the symphony takes about 22 to 29 minutes. 2.Symphony No. 2 Symphony No.
2 is in four movements and was written between 1801 to 1802. The symphony is in D major
opus number 36 and is a dedication to Karl Alois, Prince Lichnowsky. This symphony was
written during the time Beethoven s deafness was becoming distinct and he was starting to
realize it may not be cured. Beethoven was residing in Heiligenstadt in 1802.The symphony was
first performed on April 5, 1803, in the Theatre an der Wien in Vienna. A performance can take
33 to 36 minutes. 3.Symphony No. 3 This symphony is in E flat major opus number 55. The
symphony is also known as Sinfonia Eroica in Italian or Heroic Symphony. The symphony is one
of Beethoven s lauded works. Eroica was composed between 1803 to 1804 and it marked

Limitations Of Regulation Of Private Insurance Systems
Limitations to Regulation Advocates of private insurance systems argue that flaws in the
system can be remedied with regulation of the market or through government subsides to help
the poor afford the insurance (NEED SOURCE). Even with the attempt at regulation of the
private finance system in the US (the ACA and existing Medicaid program), patients still have
limited coverage and accessibility (White, 2013; Garfield and Damico, 2015; Smith and
Medalia; 2015). Regulation through expanding Medicaid has fallen short due to state autonomy
upheld by the Supreme Court ruling; as of September 2015, 20 states refused to adopt the ACA
expansion of their Medicaid programs (Garfield and Damico, 2015). Since ACA envisioned that
the expansion of Medicaid would cover an increasing number of families and childless adults at
a certain percentage of the poverty line, it does not provide financial assistance to people below
poverty for other coverage options (ibid.). The result is a coverage gap where many adults do
not qualify for Medicaid but are below the lower limit for marketplace premium tax credits (ibid.).
Currently, it is estimated that more than 3 million adults fall into this gap indicating that patching
a system of inequity and limited access still results a larger in problems for lower income people
to gain access to healthcare (ibid.). Though the ACA is still the early stages, it appears that even a
radical change in private healthcare financing in the US is not enough to

The Next Revolution in Music Technology: Make or Break?
Throughout life I have encountered several different mediums of music including eight track
recordings, vinyl records, cassette tapes, mini discs, digital audio tapes (DAT), and compact discs.
I have always considered the CD to be the greatest technological advancement (as a medium of
music) of my generation because it was the first digital audio format made readily available to the
general public. Because of the CD, people were hearing music like they had never heard it before
exactly as it would sound in the artist s recording studio. Among other things, we have digital audio
technology to thank for that. But we have recently been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The players connect to a computer, and MP3 files are transferred to them, allowing users to utilize
the portable unit the same way they use a portable cassette or CD player. As you may see by this
brief overview, the new audio format has generated a lot of activity. As far as obtaining MP3
audio files goes, there are thousands of web sites dedicated to supplying the files (mp3.com,
mp3.box.sk, mp3.lycos.com). An Internet surfer can search for music in MP3 format, and by the
simple click of a button, have the music transferred to his or her computer in as little as five
minutes or even less.
What types of music are available in MP3 format? Any type one could imagine.
While a portion of MP3 files in existence are created by individual, unsigned music artists, there is
also a large amount of commercial, copyright protected music freely available for download from
the Internet. This is the beginning of a complicated argument.
Now that it is possible for consumers to download copyrighted material free of charge, major
record labels have a great fear.
Tons of people use it [MP3] online, but most big record labels have not embraced it for fear of
privacy, since the format also allows for widespread copying of illegal files.

American Airlines Case Study
Introduction
This case study is about competition between American Airlines (AAL) and other airlines, as
well as the way AAL behaved in the face of new entries of low cost carriers (LLC) at AAL s Dallas
Fort Worth (DFW) hub. In this case study, economy of scope produced by a hub, the use of
information technology (IT) as a competitive advantage, and the use of loyalty program are
discussed. AAL s use of predatory pricing to drive out existing competitors, its reputation for
predation, and the arguments from both sides of the antitrust lawsuits are also studied.
Analysis
Background of American Airlines
American Airlines was founded on April 15, 1926, and grew to become the predominant carrier at

AAL considered them a serious threat to its revenues and decided to counteract the competition
through matching prices and increasing capacity (Herb, 2007). Labaton and Zuckerman (1999)
added that the low cost carriers failed to sustain the operations and eventually moved away, after
which American resumed its prior marketing strategy of reducing the number of flights and raising
its prices to levels comparable to those before the low fare competition. Over the period 1994 1999,
AAL have higher profit margins on routes without Southwest Airlinesor LCC competition, as it
could raise prices slowly without worrying about competitor reactions.
Economies at the hub. Major airlines acquire and maintain large market shares at their hubs
even with higher prices and higher costs than competitors. For example, AAL has a price 31
percent price premium in DFW, a 70 percent share of the non stop passengers in DFW, and a
higher cost per available seat mile (ASM) due to union contracts. However, they achieve
economies of scope and scale that are not captured in the measures of cost per ASM (Edlin, Farrell,
2002). Economies of scope come flight sharing from passengers flying to another destination
beyond the hub, such as from Wichita to Dallas then to Miami.
The Wichita Dallas flight (known as upline) creates additional traffic and profits on AAL s
Dallas Miami downline route, and as a result, AAL might sell the Wichita Dallas at very low

Case Study Of Chlorella Vulgaris
Introduction
Water pollution has been one of the factors that affect life in the aquatic environments, toxic
chemicals as well as human wastes are thrown in the river ways causing unbalanced and
unsustainable ecosystem to most organisms. This manner does not only harm other species but also
affect the human beings, it has caused diseases and the river banks were abandoned. In this case,
the researcher observed that this problem is still continually rising even though there have been a
lot of projects concerning the cleanliness and healthiness of the river banks.
Before, native Filipinos praise nature as their god, a belief that people should somehow take care
of the environment to avoid angry gods that cause calamities. This belief is also known as karma
wherein you take consequences from your actions. Today, this belief is still imparted to the younger
generations yet not practice by everyone.

Relevance And Effectiveness Of Intelligence Tests

AP Seminar
Mrs. Kristel Behrend
14 December 2015
The Relevance and Effectiveness of Intelligence Tests Intelligence tests are the most widely used
method for assessing intelligence. This method has developed greatly over the past several decades.
However, intelligence tests have continually been scrutinized for various reasons and due to this
criticism, one maycan suggest that intelligence tests may be inaccurate measurements of
intelligence. This issue is important because, in today s time, intelligence tests are used to
determine various things that pertain to individuals, and it would be wrong that for an individual
to be put in a category in which he or she does not fitis not to be in. The purpose of this paper is to
prove this to its respective audience by looking at our current standards of intelligence tests, what
intelligence tests cover, various flaws of intelligence and how to improve intelligence tests.
According to current standards, before an intelligence test can be used to assess intelligence, it
must meet certain criteria. An intelligence test must be reliable ( How Do We Measure
Intelligence? ). The reliability of a test refers to the consistency of the results of test takers ( How
Do You Measure Intelligence? ). If a test shows significant variation in its scores, then the results
cannot be considered accurate. Inaccurate scores cannot be used for other purposes such as
predicting future information. An intelligence test must be

Good Credit Score
Why you need a good credit score and simple actions you can do to improve it
You may find that your credit score is still lower than you would like (or deserve) even after
making sure your credit report is accurate. The average FICA credit score has fluctuated between
675 and 700 in recent years, with 850 being the maximum score one could have. People with
below average scores must pay high interest rates. What Can You Do? First, you need to recognize
that efforts to improve your credit score take time to have an impact. Most people find that it takes
about one year for their score to show much improvement. This is partly because changes take time
to show up in your credit report. But it is also true that your credit history stays ... Show more

These items will still stay on your credit re port but the fact that you made good on the debt will
be a plus. DO re establish your credit if you have had problems in the past. Opening one or two
credit accounts and using them responsibly will slowly but surely rebuild your credit score. This
may take a few years, however. DO stop using your credit cards if you are not paying your
balance in full each month. Using a card on which you carry a balance is almost guaranteed to
result in ever increasing balances. DO NOT ignore debt problems. Credit scores can go down
much faster than they can go up. Lenders typically report negative information right away.
Again, contacting lenders directly or a telephoning a reputable credit counseling agency can be
of help. DO NOT use repossession as a way to get out from under debt. Repossession negatively
affects credit scores even if the repossessed item has sufficient value to pay the debt. And in most
cases, its value is not enough to pay off the full balance owed. Thus you will still owe some
amount of remaining debt. It would be better to sell the item yourself, add additional funds if
necessary, and pay off the debt in

Evaluation of Two Preschool Classrooms Using Early...
According to our textbook Student teaching, A quality program is one that exceeds rather than
meets minimum standards for licensure. To help us determine if a preschool classroom/program
provides quality and to help us understand what quality means we were asked to evaluate and
compare two preschool classrooms using the Early ChildhoodEnvironment Rating Scale. The
classrooms I chose to evaluate and compare using the ECERS evaluation tool were the 4year old
classroom at Naples Christian Academy and the 4 year old classroom at The Learning Center.
Below is my comparison of both classrooms using the ECERS evaluation tool. Naples Christian
Academy, as discussed before, serves children from pre k3 to 8th grade. The Learning Center
serves children from age 2 to 5 years old. According to the PAS evaluations that I did for course
EEC 4941, Naples Christian Academy and The Learning Center provide a quality program for
children and families. After observing both 4 year old classrooms for two days, I was able to
determine whether or not both 4 year old classrooms provide quality also. Naples Christian
Academy scored an average score of 6.93on the ECERS and The Learning Center scored an
average score of 6.58 on the ECERS. The first section I evaluated at both locations was space and
furnishings. Naples Christian Academy scores a 7 and The Learning Center scored a 6.25. The

Aeneid Women
Women of The Aeneid
The Aeneid a beautifully epic poem written by Virgil. This epic tale consists of a Trojan warrior
Aeneas go through trials and tribulations of fate. Though many of his problems consist of women
who have loved and loathed him in his life. These women nonetheless have made his founding of
Rome come true. Every woman in this story has contributed to Aeneas s destiny and character.
Minerva is first shown in the second book of The Aeneid. Aeneas is going back to the war and is
describing what lead them to bring in the horse. He recounts of a Trojan boy named Sinon.
Sinon goes on to say that the hose is a gift for the goddess Minerva. That she has turned her
backs on the Greeks because of Ulysses destruction of a temple. Now this horse will appease
Minerva and bring them victory among the war with Greece. A priestess not believing the man
decides to try to puncture it with a spear. From this action Laocoon and his two sons are soon eaten
by two serpents that have come from the ocean. The serpents then slither to the Minerva shrine.
Thus, giving the trojans enough evidence to bring in the horse. By Bringing Minerva into the lie of
the gift, they ultimately started the destruction of Troy. Minerva influenced these men to accept
this gift and ultimately brings Troy s down fall and brings Aeneas to flee with his family. This
woman influenced the beginning of Aeneas s travels and the eventual discovery of Rome. In the

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance Analysis
John Ford s The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) centers around the story of infamous
bandit Liberty Valance s death. Ransom Stoddard (James Stewart) reveals the little known fact
that it was not he, the new to the West lawyer, but Western gunslinger Tom Doniphon (John
Wayne) who shot Valance. A newspaper editor decides to leave Ransom s account unpublicized.
He explains, This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend. From a
historical perspective, this statement can be read as exhibited awareness of the West s
mythification. In this essay, I will show how the film additionally less explicitly draws attention to
the mythification of the West by representing elements of the West differently than how characters
imagine them. Because the film s narrative is conveyed as a frame tale, action takes place in two
different time periods. The opening scene mainly consists of desolate land with mountains in the
background. As train a train advances across the frame from right to left, it enters the foreground.
The vehicle serves two functions. Firstly, it brings Ransom and his wife, Hallie, to the Western
town of Shinbone so that they may attend Tom s wake. Mourning Tom provides the basis for the
framing narrative. Ransom initiates an embedded story, the tale of Liberty Valance s downfall,
while talking to reporters in Shinbone. The train s second, more symbolic function is its role as a
sign of modernity. As opposed to journeying by training in the

Business Culture in Italy
Business Culture in ITALY
Doing business abroad introduces international business people to differences in approaches to
business, business etiquette and protocol. Although these may not be crucial to business
proceedings they should not be dismissed as unnecessary.
Cross cultural awareness can enhance the potential of the international business person s trip
considerably. Let us look at a brief example:
There are two business people each planning on doing business in Italy. Both have similar
proposals. One ignores the possible impact of culture and concentrates their efforts on the business
proposal. The other also invests time and energy in the proposal but in addition realises that doing

To arrange a meeting write, in Italian, first. Follow this up with a phone call, fax or e mail. The
best time for meetings is between 10 11 a.m. and after 3 p.m. Avoid August as most businesses will
run on skeleton staff due to holidays.
Negotiations can be slow. Demonstrating a sense of urgency is seen as a sign of weakness. At the
beginning of a meeting avoid business and concentrate on some small talk. Topics of discussion
could include Italian culture, food, wine and football (soccer). Italians will take away proposals and
analyse them carefully. Be sure to offer as much information as possible in written form for them to

Tm Essay
Traditional Chinese medicine, or TCM, is one of the oldest systems of medicine to exist among
humans, and it is extremely prominent to this day. According to legend, the system has been in use
since the third millennium BCE. The views of such an old system differ greatly from those found
in modern western medicine. Perhaps most prominent is the fact that TCM focuses more on the
patient than the illness. The system considers the human to be a microcosm of the universe,
implying that the body is affected by the traditional Taoist forces of yin and yang, the five elements,
and Qiin the same way the cosmos are. Each of these forces act upon the zang fu, or organ system,
directly influencing a patient s health. Healers use qigong to assist in the restoration of stability in
the body. Achieving balance, both internally and externally, is the most important aspect of healing
in TCM.
The traditional Indian medicine system, or TIM, is a system focused entirely on self healing or
Ayurveda. Like TCM, TIM is a very ancient system, dating back at least four thousand years ago,
and is very different from western medicine. TIM follows the ancient Sankhya philosophy that
the universe is One Self, it is inside everyone and everyone is a part of it this belief is also
known as Brahmanism. Two large aspects of TIM are yoga and Ayurveda. Yoga teaches patients to
move away from their outer body and identity toward their inner Self inside their hearts. Ayurveda

Beatrice cannot and is considers herself as unattractive and is unable to fit the role of a alluring

Glendale City Council Case
GLENDALE, CA Threatened with a lawsuit that claims their current electoral system discriminates
against Latino voters, the Glendale City Council, the Glendale Community College District Board
(GCCD), and the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) have considered introducing measures
that would replace the city s at large votingsystem with council districts.
Attorney Kevin Shenkman sent a letter to the City, the GCCD, and GUSD threatening to file a
lawsuit, asserting that the election system of the three bodies violates the California Voting Rights
Act of 2001. Shenkman wants the aforementioned bodies to create specific geographic council
districts to replace the current at large voting system.

Shenkman would have to show specifically how the city s current electoral system discriminates
against the Latino population of the city. According to the United StatesCensus data, Latinos
represent about 17% of Glendale s 196,000 residents.
Despite publicly opposing the initiative of a new, district based system, the members of the City
Council created Measure D, which would abandon the current at large electoral system and split the
community into districts. Several of the members also stated that the decision on this important
issue should be up to voters.
Glendale voters, however, soundly defeated two measures which would create a district based
system for the City of Glendale and the Glendale Unified Board of Education. This outcome means
that the current at large voting system will remain in place, thus creating a possibility for potential
litigation.
According to LA Times, no California city has won a lawsuit challenging its at large voting system.
The cities of Bell, Palmdale, Anaheim, Whittier, and Escondido all went to court and lost, and later

Personal Theory
Alfred Adler was born in 1870 in Austria and developed his own theory on Individual Psychology
in 1912. Adler s theory is closely related to Humanistic Psychology. Influenced by Freud, Smuts
and Vaihinger, Adler based his theory on the client s ability to live as a fully functioning adult in
society. Adler s holistic theory views each person as unified. Adler discussed birth order personality
traits. Adler s theory also discussed the roles therapists should take and the techniques that should
be used in Individual Psychology therapy sessions.
A major difference in Adlerian psychology compared to Freudian is the client is viewed as
lacking courage, instead of being mentally ill in Freud s theory. Adler s belief, that a person s
consciousness is the center of their personality differed from Freud s belief. (Wood, 2004). Adler
agreed with Freud that gratification is a central need but Adler goes on to also imply that clients
have needs for power, security, self esteem, achievement and social welfare. Day (2008)
emphasizes that people can decide how to state their needs, but may not be able to be in charge of
their needs.
Furthermore, Adler had different viewpoints regarding

The Spread of European Imperialism Essay
Throughout the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries, the world witnessed a global
expansion as well as a compaction of people, cultures, and ideas. The need for goods, as well as
the process of mercantilism to inflate economies, was instrumental in the advancement of seafaring
technologies, the need to spread religion, and the eventual globalization of the slave market. The
four major regions in the world, which were the stepping stones of globalization, are Africa,
Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean, the Americas, and finally East Asia.
The abundance of resources, especially salt, gold, and slaves in Africa, especially after the fall of
the Ottoman Empire, was too much for Europe to ignore. Most European countries, Italy ... Show

European presence in Africa also helped the people of Africa to expand.
With the collapse of the Great Silk Road, trade routes through the waters became more necessary.
Muslims and Europeans fought over the Indian Ocean and the several prosperous ports (plus
major cities and villages in Ethiopia) during the fifteenth and sixteenth century. (McKay et al.,
2009) Although Muslims had controlled the Indian Ocean trade for centuries, Portugal s ability
to circumvent the southern tip of Africa led to war and Portugal s eventual defeat of Muslim
traders and their imperialism throughout the Southeast Asian market. Africa s Swahili people
and their ivory, copra and rhinoceros horns and China s age of commerce , which was
developing within the neighboring countries of Vietnam and Burma, multiplied the available
goods for Europeans to bring back home. (McKay et al., 2009) Portugal, as with most European
countries, was beginning their recovery financially after years of war and plague. With the
growth of trade and the amount of people in the Indian Ocean area, religion quickly followed.
(McKay et al., 2009) Again, Muslims and Europeans were in battle. But this time they fought for
religious supremacy in numbers. Each faction quickly moved to convert as many people as
possible. Settlements were formed, cities grew, and customs and culture began mixing in an early
version of a melting pot. (McKay et al., 2009)

After that technique failed he realized that his appetite should be moderated. You should not deny

Romanticism In The Awakening
Romanticism can be characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism as well as
glorification of all the past and nature. There was a strong recourse to historical and natural
inevitability, a Zeitgeist, in the representation of its ideas. That there is this spirit that All people
aim for freedom and most fall short to reach their ultimate goal of total freedom. I will argue that
Edna Pontellier and Hegel are trying to find freedom during their era, but are unable to reach it.
In The Awakening, by Kate Chopin, we find our main character Edna who has this longing for
freedom and no matter what she tries she feels trapped in a society that she feels intrudes on her
freedom. During this time in age, Edna is expected to perform her domestic duties and care for
the health and happiness of her family. In this time of the Zeitgeist, victorian women were
prevented from seeking the satisfaction of their own wants and needs. During Edna s gradual
awakening, she discovers her own identity and acknowledges her emotions and desires actually
are. The water symbolizes freedom, escape, independence. Edna s awakening truly begins in the
water, because this is where she learned how to swim. This was something she has always
previously been afraid of and after this incident, her mind begins to turn with new possibilities of
independence and the future. As she swam, she seemed to be reaching out for the unlimited in
which to lose herself (Chopin, p. 32). This event in her life

One of a few reasons that having a choice can cause issues is the age of consent, the age of
consent varies from state to state, many schools and places of education don t offer education
on sexual health and ages of consent, which leaves the decision up to the teenager. Leaving the
decision up to the mother of the baby can cause problems if an individual has decided to be
sexually active that should mean that they have come to terms with potential consequences such
as potential pregnancy and std s, but since many teenagers are uneducated they don t know
exactly what could happen, Say a teenage girl was not educated but still made the decision to be
sexually active and is now paying the consequences, she s pregnant and has very little
background education on what can happen if she keeps of if she aborts the baby. If she decides to
keep the baby she may not have the ability support the baby financially. Planned parenthood centers
offer help, but if abortions become obsolete then planned parenthood centers will become few and
far between making it harder to get help many people need and increasing the frequency of unsafe
abortions. Especially in the case of minors looking for abortions, in states that do not require
parental consent or parental notification of the abortion the individual may not tell their guardian
which may result in financial problems and unsafe

Dynamics refers to the level of force used on the drum in order to create the desired volume.
Dynamics is necessary in all drumming in directing attention and suggesting what the audience

macrosystem of drumming like the style and genre that s encompassing the music. Aloud and
heavy four on the floor wouldn t suit jazz as that s not what s trying to be conveyed, instead

Positive stress can provide energy to handle emergencies, and overcome challenges by activating the

The Issue of the Commonwealth s Spending Pattern
Intro The issue of the Commonwealths spending power?????. The recent High Court decision of
Williams s v Commonwealth [2012] , saw the introduction of significant changes to this area, and
the forthcoming Williams v Commonwealth No 2 , currently before the High Court, will likely
see issue further developed. The debate surrounding this area has to do with the fact that in
addition to the legislative heads of power in sections 51 and 52 of the constitution, there are a
number of other constitutional provisions which the federal government has attempted to use as a
source of Commonwealth spending power. The two most frequently cited examples being the
section 81 Appropriations power and the section 61 Executive power. In considering both of these
sections the High Court has come to the conclusion that the scope of the spending powers should
be limited. This essay will argue the position that the High Court is justified in this approach and,
with reference to the various principles of interpretation set out by the High Court and the notions
of Federalism and Responsible Government, will show that limiting the Commonwealths spending
powers, outside of the legislative heads of power and the grants power in section 96 is both
constitutionally valid and necessary for the democratic process in Australia. The question is asked
should the commonwealth be able to spend its money on anything it feels like including or should

Adversity Negative Effects
Intro: Adversity; misfortune, disaster and trauma. We have seen adversity on both the major and
minor levels of the past, present and in fiction. We often see in all aspects the negatives that
adversity leads to. So this begs the question, does adversity lead to growth? We see adversity from
the Columbian exchange through growing populations and new technology. In the New York
Times article by Andrew E. Kramer, one reads about the financial growth Russiafaces after a long
time of recession. Likewise, in Catherine Hyde s Pay it Forward One will read about the
emotional and mental growth people have after Trevor dies which essentially causes the movement
to flourish. We see adversity everywhere in life, and although there are many negative
consequences that go along with adversity, eventually, it will lead to development and a rise in
success.
The Columbian exchange had many moving parts to it, however, a largely known negative impact
was the massive fatalities diseases spread by trade and exploration had on both Europeans and
native societies; these massive epidemics slowly brought growth to the world. The Columbian
Exchange by Alfred W. Crosby, is an article that shows the statistics and impacts that the

Persuasive Techniques In Finding Nemo
In the adventurous and entertaining movie Finding Nemo, directed by Andrew Stanton and Lee

making Nemo check that the ocean is clear by making Nemo go in and out, saying We go out

chance encounter with a shark. The shark, named Bruce, invites them to a party. Dory
enthusiastically agrees, while Marlin remains skeptic, urging Dory to caution and trying to avoid
going, stating Parties are fun, and it s tempting but (Stanton, Unkrich x:xx). While saying this,
Marlin is backing away, trying to avoid going to the sharks party . This shows caution, though
this caution is for more obvious reasons, that no fish should hang out with sharks, as they will be
eaten. However, there is reason to believe that Marlin is especially scared of predatory fish, as he
lost his wife and 359 kids to one. This, added to Marlins already fearful nature, made him more
cautious than

Princess Diana Conspiracy Theory
In many historical points of death or national tragedy, conspiracy theories tend to come out and
alter the way people view a specific instance or person. Scholars characterize conspiracy theories
as attempts to explain the ultimate cause of an event[,]usually one that is political or social[,] as
a secret ploy by a covert alliance of powerful individuals or organizations (Douglas The Hidden ).
Diana, the Princess of Wales, married into royalty by marrying Prince Charles, the son of the
Queen of England. On August 31, 1997 Princess Diana was killed . This tragic incident shocked
the United Kingdom, and many parts of the world. Diana s death, and life, are still common topics
in the world today, mainly brought up around the anniversary of her... Show more content on

Every year since her death, new conspiracies have been shared around the world, and many
books have been written. A popular theory is that the army killed Diana. The theory suggests
that on the night of August 31, 1997 ВЁjust after the black Mercedes that was carrying Diana
and Dodi Fayed entered Paris winding tunnel a black motorbike and two cars (one dark and one
white) entered the underpass in a tight formation (Engleheart 30). The theory states that the one
of the cars nudged the mercedes off course and then used a blinding strobe light to cause the car
to crash into a pillar of the tunnel (Engleheart 30). It then goes on explaining that one of the
drivers of the bike raised his/her arms into an x formation, the military signal for mission
accomplished (Engleheart 30). This conspiracy is very similar to the events that occurred on
that night, making it a very believable theory to some. Many believe it was the doing of the
Increment (30), who are the secret service of the United Kingdom; they believe that the group
planned an assassination of the unruly princess of Wales (Engleheart 31). This theory is a
completely made up account of the tragedy. No vehicles were caught on the security cameras
that matched the descriptions of those in the theory (Engleheart 31). Also, Diana and Fayed were
not the only passengers in the tunnel, paparazzi had been following along; so the paparazzi
would have been affected by the strobe light also (Dickey Night ). This making it very hard to
believe that this theory could be what actually occurred. Paparazzi was chasing Diana and Fayed
when they left from their evening, many were willing to do just about anything for their own
version of the infamous picture of the two lovers (Dickey Night ). Many were chasing the
Mercedes when it crashed (Engleheart

My Experience Of Writing
As a child, writing was foreign to me. I spent most of my time playing in the grand outdoors with
my sister, or practicing flute or piano indoors. I knew from an early child I wanted to play
music, so I had no time for writing, and no interest in doing it. The only time I ever wrote was
when required for the annual school celebration of author s day. Unlike Orwell, I did not want to
be a writeras a kid; in fact, I wanted nothing to do with it. I, as well, am the middle child of three;
but, I grew up with the constant companionship of my sister. With my sister always by my side, I
had no need to write down what I thought or felt. Soon, my sister was off to middle school, and I
left an empty spot that I began to fill with writing. Eventually, I decided I didn t just want my
stories shared with my sister; I wanted more people to read them. In early adolescence I began
experimenting with short stories; however, containing too many metaphors, similes, and
personification to follow, they always lacked a plot. Naively, I flaunted these stories about, and
read them to all who would listen. My stories of fairies and dragons were perfect to me, but soon
I had annoyed all my family and friends with these ridiculous stories. Not until I received a failing
grade on a school essay did I realize I needed to change my writing style. Unfortunately, my writing
then went from having too much imagery to having none at all. My stories became dull and simple,
the bear minimum needed

Essay Opening Shot Analysis of Rear Window
The opening scene in Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window essentially acts as one long establishing shot
only rather than establishing just the location of a scene, it establishes the entire film in more ways
than one. One particularly important shot in the scene, beginning 00:02:36 into the film, tells the
audiencemuch of what it will need to know about Rear Window s setting, characters, and themes.
The long take begins with an alarm clock waking up a couple, sleeping out on their balcony. As
the camera moves from window to window around the courtyard, we see a few brief snippets of
characters lives. And finally, the audience sees inside the apartment that has been its point of view
all along. Mise en scene, framing, and cinematography... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This image, along with the cheerful music playing from somebody s radio, implies a level of safety
and comfort in this neighborhood that will sharply contrast with the violence to come in the film.
While much of the neighborhood appears on screen in the beginning of the shot, one important
thing is notably off screen the whole time: The view from which the camera pivots. Behind the
camera was the apartment of L.B. Jeffries, and the camera pans to the left, inside his window, to
finish with a brief tour around his living room that teaches us his most important character traits. We
see first, in an extreme close up of a cast, that Jeffries has a broken leg. And then the camera pans
left and we see why: A broken camera appears on screen, and a rack focus shift to the background
shows a photograph of an automobile accident with a tire flying straight at the camera. Then several
other framed photographs of exciting events appear on the screen, telling us Jeffries is a
photographer who craves adventure and excitement. The mise en scene of this shot hints at
important information about Jeffries, his neighbors, and the neighborhood in general. But what the
camera does tells us something much stronger: Rear Window is a film about voyeurism, and a
commentary on audiences watching drama on a screen. The framing of different

The Silgrim In Dante s Inferno
In literature, as well as in history, there is often a single individual stranded and in need of a
helping hand. This assistance usually comes in various forms, and depends on the context it is
needed for. The support typically guides the individual away from imminent danger, and towards a
second chance or even ultimate salvation. In the first Canto of The Inferno, Dante the pilgrim, the
main character of The Divine Comedy, goes astray from what his culture and tradition consider the
straight road and only by recalling his cultural and personal past he is able to get back on the road
towards redemption.
Dante comprehensively acknowledges that he has lived a life of sin, when he decided to record
his story. Halfway through the route of his life, the pilgrim Dante emerges from his slumber, and

Dante becomes frightened by the animals and loses all hope of climbing the mountain. Dante then
returns to the dark forest, where he notices a figure. Dante then calls out to the presence, unaware
of whether it is man or spirit. The figure then proceeds to identify himself as the shade of Virgil,
who is known to be the greatest poet of ancient Rome. Dante is astonished and delighted,
referring to Virgil as his master. The first Canto states, he must go another way who would
escape this wilderness... you follow me and I will be your guide and lead you forth through an
eternal place. Virgil quickly assumes the role of Dante s spiritual and literal guide. While Virgil is
an admirable character, and someone Dante the poet looks up to, he is still a pagan and cannot
guide Dante past hell, where he is confined. In order to travel with the light of heaven, Dante must
expedition through the darkness of hell, where he will see first hand the consequences of sinning.

Brooke Friday
For this assignment, I shadowed Brooke Friday, an Assistant Stage Manager for the DPA
production of Midsummer Night s Dream, a radio show produced in the Studio Theatre. The day
I visited was a dress rehearsal a couple of days before opening. For this production, Friday had
many responsibilities to make sure the rehearsal process ran smoothly. Although she never had to
make any blocking notes (the actors stood in front of microphones for the entirety of the show),
she had to take numerous line notes. She also had to help set up and tear down the microphones,
chairs, and the foley, the equipment used for sound effects. Lastly, she had to time the production.
She had to time the entire run time along with the time for each scene. She told me that this was
information for the editors when they go back and look at the recordings I feel her most important
job was taking line notes throughout the entire run. Because this was a radio show, the lines were
the most important, especially because each run/performance was being recorded. She... Show more

leave and ended up being even later to the rehearsal. Friday pulled him aside and explained how to
make sure this didn t happen for the rest of the process. It was interesting to watch how she handled
this tough situation by being calm and using good communication skills. Shadowing an Assistant
Stage Manager was a very educational experience for me. I never realized how intense a job it
was. She really had to be paying attention at all times. I think that after shadowing Brooke, I have a
better idea of what it means to be a stage

Tommy John Surgery Research Paper
Turn on SportsCenter or Fox Sports during baseball season and you ll hear three words that used
to spark fear in the hearts of players, Tommy John surgery. Ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction
(UCLR) commonly known as Tommy John surgery, is performed on both recreational and high
level athletes, (Erickson, Nwachukwu, Rosas, Schairer, McCormick, Bach Jr, Romeo, 2015). This
procedure is commonly done on pitchers, because of the excessive use of their throwing arm,
affecting the elbow. The process consists of replacing a ligament in the elbow with a tendon from
another area of the body or from cadavers. When someone has Tommy John surgerythey are no
longer able to participate in baseballfor one year. However, with the advances in this medical
procedure, it has extended the careers of numerous pitchers, and in some cases improved their
pitching. Due to the possibility of enhanced results, a troubling trend has developed in youth
baseball. Parents and coaches are encouraging their players to go under the knife in their early
teens just so they will not have to worry about elbow issues in the future. High school players who
are perfectly healthy are having this procedure done at an alarming rate.

Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid Tale Essay
It is necessary for the government to impose a certain amount of power and control of its citizens
in order for a society to function properly. However, too much power and control in a society
eliminates the freedom of the residents, forbidding them to live an ordinary life. In the dystopian
futuristic novel, The Handmaids Tale, Margaret Atwooddemonstrates the theme of power and
control through an oppressive society called the Republic of Gilead. The government established
power and control through the use of the wall, military control, the salvaging, the particicution, and
gender.
The dead bodies of those who have committed acts against the government hang on a structure
called the Wall. The Wall is a method to implement fear on the citizens. Offred describes the
purpose of the wall when she states, We stop, together as of on signal and stand to loook at the
bodies. It doesn t matter if we look. Were supposed to look: this is what they are there for,
hanging on the wall. Sometimes they ll be there for days, until there s a new batch, so as many
people as possible will have a chance to see them (Atwood 40). The wall is a symbol of sin and it
creates fear and force in the Republic of Gilead. It is a warning to the citizens of the punishment for
disobeying the rules. The people that hang on the Wall have committed atrocities and must be made
into examples, for the rest (Atwood 42). Therefore, when the citizens see the punishment for
violating the government s rules, they

The Death Of Socrates And Jesus
Socrates and Jesus were two teachers whose guidance people still follow today. They were both
sentenced to death for their teachings even though there were witnesses to their innocence. Socrates
was accused of corrupting the youth and practicing atheism by three men, Lytus, Anytus, and
Meletus. Plato, Socrates student, recorded Socrates defense speech. Socrates succeeded in getting
some of the jury to see the truth, but in the end, he was sentenced to the death penalty. The Gospel
of Luke is a section in the New Testament that reveals the Lord JesusChrist and all he taught until
he was killed. Jesus teachings and preaching are brought out as he healed the wounded and sick,
and brought hope to the desperate. Jesus was also sentenced to death, but death did not keep him
from teaching and after three days he resurrected and continued to teach. These men both died for
truth and accepted their punishments. Socrates and Jesus have some similarities in their teachings
and experiences, but Jesus focused more on shaping others and taught the Christian life , while
Socrates shaped his students by teaching them how to take a different path than what the majority
follows.
Jesus and Socrates both focused on teaching what was true to their people. Socrates spoke about
truth as being a person who knows they are not wise and do not know all. Socrates went around
revealing the truth, and the truth was just not what the men of Athens wanted to hear. He states his
teachings during the

Stereotypes Of Generation Z
When hearing the term generation Z lots of different thoughts and stereotypes probably come to
mind. People born in the years of 1995 to 2010 just missed the age where technology took over
childhood, yet still made it to remember few historical events such as 9/11. Since the technology
boom, Gen Z humans have many more resources than ever before. With the whole world ahead of
them, they can go on to accomplish many things as long as they get passed the negative
stereotypes. Generation Zhas been labeled lazy, impatient, and entrepreneurial. Although most of the
stereotypes are negative, there is some positive in this generation.
One of the many stereotypes Generation Z is referred as is lazy . In an article posted by The
Huffington Post, it is stated that Gen Z is often portrayed as less engaged in politics; they have
short attention spans and don t care about the weighty issues that confront their generation and the
nation; and they re more interested in technology and celebrity than staying active in their
communities and schools. (Micoleta) Because this generation grew up with google at the touch of
their fingers and with smartphones and other hand held devices, they can search anything at any
given time without even moving. Although some might consider this lazy, others might argue that
it is resourceful. I agree with this lazy stereotype because I have seen first hand how it has affected
society. Online shopping has taken a huge hit; people can order anything from

Public Education In Mexico
Public and Private Education in Mexico
The theme is played today between parents it is which is the best option for their children
education. Public or Private? Which of the two educational systems in Mexico is better? There are
several things that parents should consider when the best choice for the education of their child is
picked up. Each educational system is very different; the quality of teaching, especially the costs
and resources of each varies greatly. Today, there is the idea that in Mexico you have to pay a lot
to get a good education. The question is, which option is better, send your child to a public or
private school?
Nowadays, Mexican s education is a controversial topic when parents need to select the best

Hard to find someone who really believes that public schools can give as good results as private
schools. Is it true? Our public education can give as good results as private, and also fulfils a social
function without public funding, it would be impossible to achieve: to serve the entire student
population and allow gaps in educational inequality begin to be reversed.
Every year, high school results seem to confirm the supremacy of private education: high school
average of note who come from private schools is much better than those who come from public
schools. From high school students to make the average marc achieved by those who come from
public schools is 69.2, while those who come from private schools get an average of 79.9. (La
Nacion Opinion, 2013)
True is, the average private note is higher than the public, and rightly so. What is surprising is that a
huge number of students from both public schools get higher grades than those studying in private
schools.

Sexual Harassment And The Workplace
Case 6 1 Not only is sexual harassment one of the worst possible things that can happen to an
individual on the job, but also to have a supervisor or manager to not stand up for you and help
you is just as terrible. Some employee s can become worried about mentioning to their supervisors
about possible sexual harassments for reasons such as, worrying about what other people will think,
not trusting their supervisor, worry about losing their job. When you are a victim of sexual
harassmentthere is always a chance it may happen again and by the same person. If you do not tell
someone you could become that victim again. Title VII forbids employers from retaliating against

When you put business before your employees, you can create problems that you may not even
think about. Wallner is probably one of the most unethical people I have heard of. If you were to
pay off an individual in certain workplaces at certain companies right now, there would be so
many lawsuits that we wouldn t be able to keep up. Even to mention to an employee that you
would pay them off can cause a lawsuit. If anyone were to ask me that question I would leave
the company because that sexual harassment will probably happen to me again, let alone my
supervisor clearly doesn t care about my safety. You can t buy off employee silence; it is
unethical and simply wrong. Not only is this company making a terrible name for itself, but also
it is giving their employee s a dangerous and careless work environment. The employer is liable if
it knew or should have known about the harassment, unless it took immediate and appropriate
corrective action (Workplace Fairness). Not only is Wallner putting his employee s at risk, but
himself as well. It doesn t matter if you have a top rock star , it matters if you have an employee
how knows how to respect their job and their co workers. Such situations should not be tolerated by
anyone and the supervisor should be held accountable to protect their employees.

Undocumented Immigrants Be Deported Essay
Immigration has been a hot topic for not only President s Trump first 100 days in office, but also
became a hot topic during the presidential campaign leading up to the election. There are a
multitude of different debates that fall under the immigration category, but an issue that should be
discussed in the national discourse by engaging citizens is the legalization and granting of
citizenship to undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Even though it is heavily
debated, undocumented immigrants should be granted the legal right to become U.S. citizens. A
poll done by CNN in March states that 71% of people believe that the government should not
attempt to deport all people current living in the country illegally (Kopan, 1) compared to only 27%
that believe illegal immigrants should be deported by the same poll. This is key in the discussion
being debated that undocumented immigrants should be legal citizens of the United States. There
are a significant amount of undocumented immigrants who currently reside in the United States
today. According to the Pew Research... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undocumented immigrants have created lives here and become part of communities, and it is not
right to take that away from them. Not only is it not inhumane, but also it would hurt the economy
as well since granting citizenship to undocumented workers causing the economy to grow, not stunt
its growth. Even though many believe that undocumented immigrants becoming citizens will harm
citizen s jobs, this is also proven to be false because immigrants create jobs and fill the gaps of the
jobs not done by natural born citizens. Undocumented immigrants also are proven to not commit as
many crimes as the American counterpart, unlike many opponents views. By legalizing and

Should the U.S. continue its role as a global police force
A brief look at the steady decline of U.S. hegemony
The origins of U.S. regional dominance in the 60s and 70s
Following the second World War, the U.S. suddenly found itself the dominant economic and
military might in a devastated world. As the British Empire faded, into the vacuum a new empire
arose and armed with a nuclear deterrent, the U.S began to exert its global influence.
Initially, this influence confined itself to a peace keeping role with bases in Europe and Asia, but
as its influence and power spread, like every other empire, it s policing began to resemble its
foreign policy and took on all the aspects of interference. This interference started to become
apparent in the 60s and 70s, when its business interests became threatened and it actively began to
orchestrate coups to further its own economic interests.

  • 2. Ludwig Van Beethoven And Ludwig Van Beethoven s Nine... Beethoven s Nine Symphonies Introduction Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer and Pianist of German origin and he is one of the famous composers to date. He is an important figure in the change between the classical music to Romantic era in Western music. Beethoven showed musical talent a young age and his father Johann Van Beethoven and composer Christian Gottlob Neefe were his teachers. At 21, Joseph Haydn became his teacher in Vienna and he taught him about composition. During his late 20s, Beethoven started to lose his hearing and this progressed until he was almost totally deaf in his last years. In 1881 Beethoven stopped performing in public and chose to focus on composing and during this time he wrote some of his best compositions. Beethoven passed away on March 26, 1827. In August 1845, the Beethoven monument in Bonn was unveiled making it the first monument ever of a composer. The nine symphonies are one of his greatest compositions. 1.Symphony No. 1 Symphony No. 1 was a dedication to Beethoven s early patron named Baron Gottfried Van Swieten. Hoffmeister and Kuhnel of Leipzig published the symphony in 1801. The symphony is in C major, opus number 21 and was composed between 1795 to 1801. Symphony No. 1 is influenced by Beethoven s teacher Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but has features that make it stand out as Beethoven s work. The opening of the Symphony took place on April 2, 1800, in Vienna. Performance of the symphony takes about 22 to 29 minutes. 2.Symphony No. 2 Symphony No. 2 is in four movements and was written between 1801 to 1802. The symphony is in D major opus number 36 and is a dedication to Karl Alois, Prince Lichnowsky. This symphony was written during the time Beethoven s deafness was becoming distinct and he was starting to realize it may not be cured. Beethoven was residing in Heiligenstadt in 1802.The symphony was first performed on April 5, 1803, in the Theatre an der Wien in Vienna. A performance can take 33 to 36 minutes. 3.Symphony No. 3 This symphony is in E flat major opus number 55. The symphony is also known as Sinfonia Eroica in Italian or Heroic Symphony. The symphony is one of Beethoven s lauded works. Eroica was composed between 1803 to 1804 and it marked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Limitations Of Regulation Of Private Insurance Systems Limitations to Regulation Advocates of private insurance systems argue that flaws in the system can be remedied with regulation of the market or through government subsides to help the poor afford the insurance (NEED SOURCE). Even with the attempt at regulation of the private finance system in the US (the ACA and existing Medicaid program), patients still have limited coverage and accessibility (White, 2013; Garfield and Damico, 2015; Smith and Medalia; 2015). Regulation through expanding Medicaid has fallen short due to state autonomy upheld by the Supreme Court ruling; as of September 2015, 20 states refused to adopt the ACA expansion of their Medicaid programs (Garfield and Damico, 2015). Since ACA envisioned that the expansion of Medicaid would cover an increasing number of families and childless adults at a certain percentage of the poverty line, it does not provide financial assistance to people below poverty for other coverage options (ibid.). The result is a coverage gap where many adults do not qualify for Medicaid but are below the lower limit for marketplace premium tax credits (ibid.). Currently, it is estimated that more than 3 million adults fall into this gap indicating that patching a system of inequity and limited access still results a larger in problems for lower income people to gain access to healthcare (ibid.). Though the ACA is still the early stages, it appears that even a radical change in private healthcare financing in the US is not enough to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. MP3 Essay Mp3 argument The Next Revolution in Music Technology: Make or Break? Throughout life I have encountered several different mediums of music including eight track recordings, vinyl records, cassette tapes, mini discs, digital audio tapes (DAT), and compact discs. I have always considered the CD to be the greatest technological advancement (as a medium of music) of my generation because it was the first digital audio format made readily available to the general public. Because of the CD, people were hearing music like they had never heard it before exactly as it would sound in the artist s recording studio. Among other things, we have digital audio technology to thank for that. But we have recently been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The players connect to a computer, and MP3 files are transferred to them, allowing users to utilize the portable unit the same way they use a portable cassette or CD player. As you may see by this brief overview, the new audio format has generated a lot of activity. As far as obtaining MP3 audio files goes, there are thousands of web sites dedicated to supplying the files (mp3.com, mp3.box.sk, mp3.lycos.com). An Internet surfer can search for music in MP3 format, and by the simple click of a button, have the music transferred to his or her computer in as little as five minutes or even less. What types of music are available in MP3 format? Any type one could imagine. While a portion of MP3 files in existence are created by individual, unsigned music artists, there is also a large amount of commercial, copyright protected music freely available for download from the Internet. This is the beginning of a complicated argument. Now that it is possible for consumers to download copyrighted material free of charge, major record labels have a great fear. Tons of people use it [MP3] online, but most big record labels have not embraced it for fear of privacy, since the format also allows for widespread copying of illegal files. (Sullivan 1999). • 5. American Airlines Case Study Introduction This case study is about competition between American Airlines (AAL) and other airlines, as well as the way AAL behaved in the face of new entries of low cost carriers (LLC) at AAL s Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) hub. In this case study, economy of scope produced by a hub, the use of information technology (IT) as a competitive advantage, and the use of loyalty program are discussed. AAL s use of predatory pricing to drive out existing competitors, its reputation for predation, and the arguments from both sides of the antitrust lawsuits are also studied. Analysis Background of American Airlines American Airlines was founded on April 15, 1926, and grew to become the predominant carrier at the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... AAL considered them a serious threat to its revenues and decided to counteract the competition through matching prices and increasing capacity (Herb, 2007). Labaton and Zuckerman (1999) added that the low cost carriers failed to sustain the operations and eventually moved away, after which American resumed its prior marketing strategy of reducing the number of flights and raising its prices to levels comparable to those before the low fare competition. Over the period 1994 1999, AAL have higher profit margins on routes without Southwest Airlinesor LCC competition, as it could raise prices slowly without worrying about competitor reactions. Economies at the hub. Major airlines acquire and maintain large market shares at their hubs even with higher prices and higher costs than competitors. For example, AAL has a price 31 percent price premium in DFW, a 70 percent share of the non stop passengers in DFW, and a higher cost per available seat mile (ASM) due to union contracts. However, they achieve economies of scope and scale that are not captured in the measures of cost per ASM (Edlin, Farrell, 2002). Economies of scope come flight sharing from passengers flying to another destination beyond the hub, such as from Wichita to Dallas then to Miami. The Wichita Dallas flight (known as upline) creates additional trafп¬Ѓc and proп¬Ѓts on AAL s Dallas Miami downline route, and as a result, AAL might sell the Wichita Dallas at very low ... Case Study Of Chlorella Vulgaris Introduction Water pollution has been one of the factors that affect life in the aquatic environments, toxic chemicals as well as human wastes are thrown in the river ways causing unbalanced and unsustainable ecosystem to most organisms. This manner does not only harm other species but also affect the human beings, it has caused diseases and the river banks were abandoned. • 7. Relevance And Effectiveness Of Intelligence Tests Emmanuel Ndukwe AP Seminar Mrs. Kristel Behrend 14 December 2015 The Relevance and Effectiveness of Intelligence Tests Intelligence tests are the most widely used method for assessing intelligence. This method has developed greatly over the past several decades. However, intelligence tests have continually been scrutinized for various reasons and due to this criticism, one maycan suggest that intelligence tests may be inaccurate measurements of intelligence. This issue is important because, in today s time, intelligence tests are used to determine various things that pertain to individuals, and it would be wrong that for an individual to be put in a category in which he or she does not fitis not to be in. The purpose of this paper is to prove this to its respective audience by looking at our current standards of intelligence tests, what intelligence tests cover, various flaws of intelligence and how to improve intelligence tests. According to current standards, before an intelligence test can be used to assess intelligence, it must meet certain criteria. An intelligence test must be reliable ( How Do We Measure Intelligence? ). The reliability of a test refers to the consistency of the results of test takers ( How Do You Measure Intelligence? ). If a test shows significant variation in its scores, then the results cannot be considered accurate. Inaccurate scores cannot be used for other purposes such as predicting future information. • 10. Good Credit Score Why you need a good credit score and simple actions you can do to improve it You may find that your credit score is still lower than you would like (or deserve) even after making sure your credit report is accurate. The average FICA credit score has fluctuated between 675 and 700 in recent years, with 850 being the maximum score one could have. People with below average scores must pay high interest rates. What Can You Do? First, you need to recognize that efforts to improve your credit score take time to have an impact. Most people find that it takes about one year for their score to show much improvement. This is partly because changes take time to show up in your credit report. But it is also true that your credit history stays ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Opening one or two credit accounts and using them responsibly will slowly but surely rebuild your credit score. This may take a few years, however. DO stop using your credit cards if you are not paying your balance in full each month. Using a card on which you carry a balance is almost guaranteed to result in ever increasing balances. DO NOT ignore debt problems. Credit scores can go down much faster than they can go up. Lenders typically report negative information right away. Again, contacting lenders directly or a telephoning a reputable credit counseling agency can be of help. DO NOT use repossession as a way to get out from under debt. Repossession negatively affects credit scores even if the repossessed item has sufficient value to pay the debt. And in most cases, its value is not enough to pay off the full balance owed. Thus you will still owe some amount of remaining debt. It would be better to sell the item yourself, add additional funds if necessary, and pay off the debt in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Evaluation of Two Preschool Classrooms Using Early... According to our textbook Student teaching, A quality program is one that exceeds rather than meets minimum standards for licensure. To help us determine if a preschool classroom/program provides quality and to help us understand what quality means we were asked to evaluate and compare two preschool classrooms using the Early ChildhoodEnvironment Rating Scale. The classrooms I chose to evaluate and compare using the ECERS evaluation tool were the 4year old classroom at Naples Christian Academy and the 4 year old classroom at The Learning Center. Below is my comparison of both classrooms using the ECERS evaluation tool. Naples Christian Academy, as discussed before, serves children from pre k3 to 8th grade. The Learning Center serves children from age 2 to 5 years old. According to legend, the system has been in use since the third millennium BCE. The views of such an old system differ greatly from those found in modern western medicine. Perhaps most prominent is the fact that TCM focuses more on the patient than the illness. The system considers the human to be a microcosm of the universe, implying that the body is affected by the traditional Taoist forces of yin and yang, the five elements, and Qiin the same way the cosmos are. Each of these forces act upon the zang fu, or organ system, directly influencing a patient s health. Healers use qigong to assist in the restoration of stability in the body. The traditional Indian medicine system, or TIM, is a system focused entirely on self healing or Ayurveda. Like TCM, TIM is a very ancient system, dating back at least four thousand years ago, and is very different from western medicine. TIM follows the ancient Sankhya philosophy that the universe is One Self, it is inside everyone and everyone is a part of it this belief is also known as Brahmanism. Previously drumming was often used as a social mediator, played to bring together the community and act as a vehicle in carrying messages and stories, alongside ceremonial use. However, within the last century, the drums have morphed radically into their current potential purpose and capabilities. Aloud and heavy four on the floor wouldn t suit jazz as that s not what s trying to be conveyed, instead feathering is a more common jazz use of the kick drum which involves lighter hit so it s not pronounced and oppressive to the rest of the music; however, this heavy beat would be perfect for house or disco as it is much easier to dance to at a nightclub, which is exactly what the drummer is going for in this setting. This demonstrates dynamics relationship to the type of music, but it also varies within the microsystem the individuals input of the drumming, on a beat by beat basis. Positive stress can provide energy to handle emergencies, and overcome challenges by activating the higher thinking centers of the brain (Tennant). This reaction is much more powerful, affecting the brain and body in ways that can be destructive both physically and mentally (Tennant). Wine remains until today one of the largest components of the agricultural production in the Western civilization (Appendix 1). Grapevine is one of the most economically and socially important crops around the globe. Realizing the global significance of wine, scientists specializing in plant biology, viticulture and enology from the major wine producing areas (USA, Australia, France, Canada, Chile, Italy, Germany, Spain and South Africa) launched the International Grape Genome Program (IGGP) in the beginning of the century. It involves a cooperative genome sequence analysis of the species Vitis Vinifera, one of the most common grapevine species. The goal of the IGGP is to provide insights into the molecular biology of the species. Using genetic tools, scientists are attempting to modify specific parts of the Vitis genome to produce higher quality wine, disease resistant crops and provide a database for producers to plant the right species with respect to the specific environment of their production site. According to data collected in 2007, half of the grape genome has been mapped, which includes more than 22800 nucleotide sequences and the project is expected to grow even more the next years. The recent High Court decision of Williams s v Commonwealth [2012] , saw the introduction of significant changes to this area, and the forthcoming Williams v Commonwealth No 2 , currently before the High Court, will likely see issue further developed. The debate surrounding this area has to do with the fact that in addition to the legislative heads of power in sections 51 and 52 of the constitution, there are a number of other constitutional provisions which the federal government has attempted to use as a source of Commonwealth spending power. The two most frequently cited examples being the section 81 Appropriations power and the section 61 Executive power. In considering both of these sections the High Court has come to the conclusion that the scope of the spending powers should be limited. This essay will argue the position that the High Court is justified in this approach and, with reference to the various principles of interpretation set out by the High Court and the notions of Federalism and Responsible Government, will show that limiting the Commonwealths spending powers, outside of the legislative heads of power and the grants power in section 96 is both constitutionally valid and necessary for the democratic process in Australia. The question is asked should the commonwealth be able to spend its money on anything it feels like including or should it be limited to expenditure on topics related to ... We often see in all aspects the negatives that adversity leads to. So this begs the question, does adversity lead to growth? We see adversity from the Columbian exchange through growing populations and new technology. In the New York Times article by Andrew E. Kramer, one reads about the financial growth Russiafaces after a long time of recession. Likewise, in Catherine Hyde s Pay it Forward One will read about the emotional and mental growth people have after Trevor dies which essentially causes the movement to flourish. We see adversity everywhere in life, and although there are many negative consequences that go along with adversity, eventually, it will lead to development and a rise in success. The Columbian exchange had many moving parts to it, however, a largely known negative impact was the massive fatalities diseases spread by trade and exploration had on both Europeans and native societies; these massive epidemics slowly brought growth to the world. The Columbian Exchange by Alfred W. This makes him very cautious and fearful. In one of the earliest scenes of the story, on Nemo s first day of school, Marlin shows his caution and fearful nature. He does it by making Nemo check that the ocean is clear by making Nemo go in and out, saying We go out and back in. And then we go out, and back in. And then one more time out and back in. And sometimes, if you wanna do it four times (Stanton, Unkrich x:xx). This shows Marlin s caution and fear because he is going in and out 3 times, and is okay with going out more! Dory enthusiastically agrees, while Marlin remains skeptic, urging Dory to caution and trying to avoid going, stating Parties are fun, and it s tempting but (Stanton, Unkrich x:xx). The theory suggests that on the night of August 31, 1997 ВЁjust after the black Mercedes that was carrying Diana and Dodi Fayed entered Paris winding tunnel a black motorbike and two cars (one dark and one white) entered the underpass in a tight formation (Engleheart 30). The theory states that the one of the cars nudged the mercedes off course and then used a blinding strobe light to cause the car to crash into a pillar of the tunnel (Engleheart 30). It then goes on explaining that one of the drivers of the bike raised his/her arms into an x formation, the military signal for mission accomplished (Engleheart 30). This conspiracy is very similar to the events that occurred on that night, making it a very believable theory to some. Many believe it was the doing of the Increment (30), who are the secret service of the United Kingdom; they believe that the group planned an assassination of the unruly princess of Wales (Engleheart 31). This theory is a completely made up account of the tragedy. No vehicles were caught on the security cameras that matched the descriptions of those in the theory (Engleheart 31). Also, Diana and Fayed were not the only passengers in the tunnel, paparazzi had been following along; so the paparazzi would have been affected by the strobe light also (Dickey Night ). This making it very hard to believe that this theory could be what actually occurred. The only time I ever wrote was when required for the annual school celebration of author s day. Unlike Orwell, I did not want to be a writeras a kid; in fact, I wanted nothing to do with it. I, as well, am the middle child of three; but, I grew up with the constant companionship of my sister. With my sister always by my side, I had no need to write down what I thought or felt. Soon, my sister was off to middle school, and I left an empty spot that I began to fill with writing. Eventually, I decided I didn t just want my stories shared with my sister; I wanted more people to read them. In early adolescence I began experimenting with short stories; however, containing too many metaphors, similes, and personification to follow, they always lacked a plot. The mise en scene of this shot hints at important information about Jeffries, his neighbors, and the neighborhood in general. In the dystopian futuristic novel, The Handmaids Tale, Margaret Atwooddemonstrates the theme of power and control through an oppressive society called the Republic of Gilead. The government established power and control through the use of the wall, military control, the salvaging, the particicution, and gender.
