Death Schone Magelone By Ludwig Tieck
Sind es Schumerzen, sind es Freuden ( are they sorrows or are they joys ) is a song from
Brahms song cycle Romanzen aus L. Tieck s Magelone, Op. 33 No. 3. As text for his song cycle,
Brahms chose excerpts from the novel Die schöne Magelone by Ludwig Tieck (1773 1853). The
novel tells a love story between Peter von Provence and Magelone, the king s daughter. In this
particular song, Peter and Magelone falls in love with each other. Though Brahms is most widely
known as an instrumental composer, more than half of his opus numbers are devoted to vocal
works. In Brahms song cycles, he avoided the traditional strophic forms. Instead, he chooses
dramatic shifts in music material, unpredictable harmonies, and sudden changes in tempoand
rhythm.
The song starts with an unusually long piano introduction that lasted 8 measures, gives an idea of
the large scale of this song. The rolled chords (mm.1 8) and broken octaves underneath the beautiful
melody suggesting Peter s lute. The vocal line begins with the expressive melody identical to the
beginning of the piano introduction. It is characterized by embellishments on words sind (to be),
busen (bosom) and wГјnsche (desire). Emphasizing Peter yearning for Magelone s love. The
second stanza is set to the same music as the first stanza, and Brahms even indicates this with a
repeat sign rather than notating the music twice. The harmony of the verse ends on a half cadence
but the chords at the last measure are not rolled, (mm.20)

The Historical Similarities Of Adolf Hitler And Donald Trump
Many conditions point towards Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump with how they took power as
political leaders. Hitler and Trump both put down people of different backgrounds based on
looks, people who love different, etc. The trend that Americans are seeing today is similar to
what Germany imposed on their people back in the 1930 s. The slow gradual steps of oppression
and discrimination that Trump does everyday will eventually cause the downfall of America if we
do not speak up and realize how wrong all of this is. To better understand what factors would cause
one to imply such a claim it is important to understand Adolf Hitlers background and Donald Trump
s background and the historical comparisons.
IMPOSING THE ASSUMPTION OF HOW TRUMP IS SIMILAR TO HITLER Adolf Hitler was
born on April 20, 1889, in the Upper Austrian border town Braunau am Inn, located
approximately 65 miles east east of Munich and nearly 30 miles north of Salzburg. In 1898, the
Hitler moved with his family to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. Hitler always has a passion
for art. However, Hitler s father never approved of him pursuing art. Hitler s father wanted him to
seek interest in the job of entering into the Hasburg Civil Service. Soon later though Hitler s father
passed and the death of him meant that he could now pursue his dream of becoming an artist. In
1907 Hitler decided that he wanted to try and gain acceptance to the Academy of the Arts in Vienna.
Hitler failed miserably at getting

Jean Watson Essay
Watson was immersed in the problem of genes at a very early age and wished to contribute to
solving it as it was the most pressed issue in post war era. His main doctorate was in genetics and
he scantly had any training in chemistry or physics for that matter. The ineptitude to chemistry he
attributes to his own laziness. (Page 10).
Watson found the model building approach employed by Linus Pauling as a sensational new
method to solving the alpha helix as the structure for proteins (Pages 18 19
Watson s approach to solving the DNA (deoxyribose nucleic acid) was to employ model building
as done by Linus Pauling at Cal Tech for the alpha helix structure of proteins. Watson was wary
of the fact that Pauling relied on simple laws of structural chemistry to solve his model rather
complex mathematical approach (Page 27). Such an approach meant that Watson who was trained
in the arts of Physics or Chemistry could dabble at the model for a DNA without having to spend
an extravagant time required to learn the arts of X ray crystallography and in depth chemistry. This
approach suited Watson s ambition of a quick shot at the glory he so desired.

Analysis Of Foxy s U.s. Expansion Essay
Our report examined Foxy s U.S. expansion, which is occurring due to oversaturation in Canada,
and whether it should be executed by use of a trade show distribution strategy with high fixed
costs, or a sales representative distribution strategy with low fixed costs.
With trade shows, the two founders will be able to show their own energy and passion for their
work, while networking with relevant American industry leaders. However, they would be
competing for attention with thousands of other booths, making it essential to capture the attention
of retailers. Furthermore, the time commitment to trade shows could dilute the attention they pay to
their Canadian Foxy brand. Sales representatives would have an easier time entering the market
which could lead to quicker profits. While it would initially be less of a time commitment to hire
sales representatives, it would remain an ongoing commitment to monitor the representatives and
find new representatives if necessary. The high fixed cost nature of trade shows will make it more
difficult for Foxy to break even. However, this will ensure a higher contribution margin which
could leads to larger profits after breaking even. This, combatted with a wider variation of
potential orders, leads to an unpredictable operating income that could easily exceed Foxy s
goals or miss it by a lot. This strategy would involve a higher operating leverage, which would
enable Foxy to see a larger increase in profit as sales increase. Conversely, the

Alexander the Great Essay
Alexander the Great Alexander the Great or Alexandros III Philippou Makedonan was born in
July 356BC in Pella, Macedonia (Popovic intro). He conquered what was in his time, most of
the civilized world. Alexander accomplished greater deeds than any, not only of the kings before
him but also of those later to come later down to our time (popovic intro). He was one of the
greatest military geniuses in the history of the world. Both of Alexander s parents always
dreamed of him someday being a great leader. Alexander s mother was named Olympias, she was

Growing up, Alexander was trained in the art of war. He learned sword fighting, javelin
throwing, horseback riding, and archery (Townson 3). He was well known for his ablility to
tame horses. Alexander had the best education possible in his time. The great philosopher
Aristotle taught him. Aristotle taught him about literature, and introduced him to science,
philosophy, and medicine which he became interested in. His favorite work of literature was
The Iliad, by Homer. Every night he slept with it and a dagger under his pillow (Townson 3).
Soon he would be able to put all of his drive, ambition, and education to work. Phillip was
assassinated in July 336BC on the way to the theater with his brother in law, Alexander of Epirus,
by a Macedonian soldier, (Popovic death of Phillip). After this event , at the age of twenty
Alexander quickly and firmly took charge of his father s army, faster than anyone had ever thought
possible (Popovic death of Phillip). Alexander quickly executed all of his enemies and people that
had any chance of claiming the thrown; among these were Attulus, a general who claimed that his
nephew was the rightful heir and Phillip s other wife and child. There are stories that Olympia,
Alexander s mother tortured them to death (Wepman 37). After Phillip s death Sparta and Thessaly
claimed independence from Greece. Alexander quickly marched 30,000 men

The Religous Unaffiliated in the Article, “Nones on the Rise
We all know that religion is an organized system regarding the spiritual or supernatural along with
various practices that give numerous individuals a sense of purpose in the world and allows these
individuals to understand things beyond their reach. However, while reading the articles from
Nones on the Rise, it is evident that there is an increase in the number of individuals who claim
unaffiliation to any religionin the United States. Nones gives the facts and figures of the Americans
who do not place themselves in any religious category, with an approximate one in five of the
public claiming no affiliation. But there are some individuals who denote themselves as spiritual
or religious in some way. The entire article is an intriguing one because it breaks everything
down, from what it means to be unaffiliated religiously to the composition of the unaffiliated, the
demographics of the unaffiliated and theories as to why there is an increase in the numbers of the
years. It is interesting to see how people view themselves when it comes to their beliefs. The
article discusses a couple of reasons behind the increase of unaffiliated Americans. It is thought
that the growth is a result of newer generations replacing older generations. It is evident that elders
are more likely to proclaim religion than young adults. This is not the only factor. In addition to the
general replacement, the decrease of religious commitment among some of the individuals is also

Abercrombie and Fitch Case Analysis

April 11, 2012

Abstract Abercrombie and Fitch (A amp;F) is a typical mall front store. They have been in the
business for a century and are not going anywhere. A amp;F sees their fair share of mock items
and lawsuits. However, through it all, A amp;F has made it to be successful, overcome threats, and
open similar chains to target a wider range age market.
Introduction Abercrombie amp; Fitch was founded in 1892 as a unique clothing store. Over the
century in business they have made a distinct target for young adults. The fashion giant specializes
in apparel for ages 18 through 22. The 118 year old retailer has been acknowledged for operating a

16). That is no small feat for any company. A amp;F has also branched out into branding sub chain
stores such as Hollister and Abercrombie. These stores reach the younger audience while still
maintaining an image that is more suitable for that audience. Those stores have also flourished in
their own environment to gain consumer recognition and loyalty. A amp;F is able to create
successful sub brand operations that tap into other target markets.
Greatest Weaknesses The greatest weaknesses that A amp;F has is that the economic downturn
has forced consumers to tone down their spending habits and give up non necessary items like
brand name clothing. This has been especially hard on online sales for A amp;F. The company s
sales for online items have been down and the profit margin is non existent. This makes it hard to
keep the online service available when it does not offer the company with any profit. The lawsuits
A amp;F face are not only because of suggestive advertising but because some view them as
discriminatory against minorities. Often A amp;F ads have a picture of white young adults. This is
seen as that is A amp;F only target; white young adults. In 2005, Abercrombie paid $40 million to a
class of African Americans, Asian Americans, Latinos and women to settle another workplace
discrimination lawsuit, (Casabona, 2010, para. 7). The company has been ridiculed and mocked for
their practice, although that does not

Virtual Worlds Online Essay
With the advancement of science and technology, the virtual world is gradually seeping into media,
marketing, entertainment, and our daily lives. With wide reaching effects on gaming, socializing,

the past few years. A virtual world is an interactive simulated environment that can be accessed by
multiple users through an online interface ( Virtual World , 2006). The computer in question

Management, a firm that tracks virtual worlds, recently announced that over $425 million has been
invested during the 4th quarter of 2007 in 15 virtual world companies they were studying
(Management, 2007). Apart from making money from investments, the virtual worlds make most
of their money from their services. Although the money making techniques differ from company to
company, they do share common methods. Firstly, there is usually an upfront cost which could be
the box you buy or the activation fee. This can be followed by a monthly or timely payment for
using the service. Still, other cash inflows come in the form of membership fees or the sale of
virtual goods. Furthermore, the usual business activities such as donations, merchandise sales, and
advertising help in making profits. Hence, the business model for such companies vary in number
and structure (Mihaly, 2006). Nevertheless, the general idea includes three main entities, the game
producer, the internet service provider, and the game consumer. The game design, story,
programming, support, and distribution all falls under the game producer. The game consumer

Gun Control Laws Are Not Focus On The Overall Wellbeing Of...
Abstract
The goal of this paper is to make people aware of the excessive forms of control measures which
California control laws enforce. The laws need to be changed to loosen the burden on anyone
Californian who desire to legally purchase a gun for protection. Buyers are prejudged as potential
problems to the community rather than solely on their legal record, merit of good intentions, and
right for self preservation. Law abiding California citizen will continue to be treated as convicted
felons and other people with violent past.
Thesis
California gun control laws are not focus on the overall wellbeing of the public. This current law
encourage the people who are commenting crimes. Most legal buyers are prejudged as a potential
threat; prior to purchasing a gun, rather than on their proper paperwork and qualifications. During
this process criminals are still obtaining weapons illegally and using them. The laws which prevent
personal protection with a gun most be changed in order to control and deter the increasing threat
from predators.
California (CA) gun control laws should be revised to provide every CA law abiding person a fair
opportunity to purchase and possess firearm for protection. Law aiding citizens who desire self
protection are the ones being wronged. Most criminals do not walk in a store and attempt to
purchase a weapon by legally registering for sell and ownership. Many petitions and proposals to
legislature have to present to address the

Conformity In The Great Gatsby
Drugs, alcohol, parties, popularity are the key known factors of peer pressure. In fact, most
teenagers today are exceptionally vulnerable to social conformity issues simply because social
acceptance at their age is important. However, they are not the only victims struggling in this
stage; there are also adults who are still swayed by the public opinions. This stage of social
conformity, according to the Kohlberg s stages of moral development, is often referred to as the
Interpersonal (tribal) conformity. This is applied to the large population of teenagers rather than the
adults. In the book The Great Gatsby, the peers around Daisy had a tremendous influence upon her
decisions. Even as an adult, Daisy consistently made an effort to satisfy... Show more content on

In fact, this also applies to the situation of understanding what social conformity is. This subject has
been around for centuries, forcing many to behave in a certain way that the society expects. The
influence of peer pressure is still a topic has an impact to the world, especially the adolescents. The
[s]ocial psychologists have suggested that one core function of compliance and conformity is to
maintain group harmony ( Social Influence and the Brain:Persuasion, Susceptibility to Influence
and Retransmission Cascio,Scholz,Falk) and this applies to many individuals who value public
opinions more than their own. They seek to be good people and make an effort to follow the
trend of the crowd. More often than not, this also relates to the confidence level of an
individual, If those others agree with one s beliefs, one gains confidence in them; if they
disagree, one loses confidence ( Conformity, Levine). This is indeed what many people face
today from all different phases of life. Daisy, one of the characters in the book The Great
Gatsby, is a perfect example of a person soaked into social conformity. From the beginning of her
marriage life with Tom to the end of the book, she progresses into immoral stages of life. Day
after day she conforms herself into a world filled with corruptions, such as adultery and murder.
Although, she is an adult, she is a character that is stuck in a stage that her age group have already

Introduction Of Antiviral Drugs
Antiviral Drugs
пѓ Introduction: These are the agents which are used in the treatment and prevention of an
infectious disease caused by certain viruses. They are antimicrobial compounds like antibiotics,
antifungal, ant parasitic, etc., but they have their own different mode of action because viruses
differ from bacteria and other organisms in a way that they lack cell wall and cell membrane. They
contain a core of nucleic acid that may be DNA or RNA, surrounded by the protein coat.
Viruses are obligate intracellular parasites, which means that they cannot grow outside the host cell,
they always require a host cell for their multiplication. They use the host machinery for its
multiplication. They can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It prevents the entry of the virus by binding to the CCR5 coreceptors, these coreceptors work
together with gp41 to promote the entry of HIV through the plasma membrane of the cell.
2.Integrase Inhibitor for HIV:
Mechanism of Action: The integrase inhibitors are also called Integrase Strand Transfer Inhibitors
(INSTIs). It inhibits the incorporation of viral DNA into the host DNA.
An enzyme called integrase help in the insertion of viral DNA into the host DNA by making a cut
in the host DNA at some points and then inserting the viral DNA into it. This enzyme has active
sites through which it makes a cut in host DNA. The inhibition process occurs when INSTIs attach
to the active sites of the enzyme, preventing the enzyme from making a cut in host DNA, therefore,
inhibiting insertion.
Dolutegravir and Raltegravir: It is an Integrase Inhibitor that works by binding to the active sites
of the enzyme and displaces one end of the DNA strand, making it impossible for the viral DNA to
be integrated into the host DNA.
Antimicrobial Spectrum: These drugs are effective against a wide range of wild type and drug
resistance HIV, including the strains that use CCR5 or CXCR4 coreceptors for entry into the host
cell.

Binge Drinking Persuasive Speech
Partying we all love to do it but do we know how to party safely. Did you know that 15 Australia s

hospitalized Australians every day and 157,132 each year are hospitalized due to alcohol related
problems? The unsafe social behaviours that cause so many deaths throughout Australia due to
alcohol consumption are: sexual abuse, attention deficient, impulsive behaviour, aggressiveness
over everything, self awareness, anxiety relief, empty promises, drink driving, depression,
violent behaviour and last binge drinking. Binge drinking is one of the worst social behaviours
as it starts at a young age and that is where the obsession starts, as an Australia study shows that
2,00 kids that have a sip of alcohol when they are young due to their parents. This can lead to
future binge drinking by the time they are 15 to 16 years old. It has been estimated that 2,643
Australians die due to binge drinking each year. Some of the effects of binge drinking can cause are

Much Ado About Nothing Comedy Analysis
A farce or comedy is best played; A tragedy is best read at home. is a quote by former president
Abraham Lincoln. It holds especially true for Much Ado about Nothing by Shakespeare; this
play is best read at home. Because the language is too advanced, it does not have the elements of
a comedy, and the characters are not funny. For these reasons, Much Ado about Nothing should
not be considered a comedy. There are multiple reasons why it should not be considered a
comedy. The first reason is that the language used is advanced and uncommon, so if there were
any comedy involved many readers would not notice. The dialogue Shakespeare used may have
been common and understandable back in his time, but in today s modern day it is much
different. Dogberry states Goodman Verges, sir, speaks a little off the matter an old man, sir, and
his wits are not so blunt. Nobody speaks old English as a native language today. Many who

Shakespeare manages to crack a laugh out of the reader here and there, but it is through only
one character, Dogberry. He is the one source of comedy in this book and is overused as the
comical relief in the play. The author uses the characters Claudio and Hero to the development
of the plot and are not focused on any comedy. Don John is the antagonist who is mischievous,
deceiving man who is entirely not funny. When Don John deceives Claudio into thinking Hero
was unfaithful, Claudio shames her during their wedding. Infidelity is not a topic to laugh
about, especially when Hero even goes as far as faking her own death. All together, Much Ado

Persuasive Essay On The Kneeling Issue
O er the land of the free and the home of the brave? John Stafford Smith said in 1814. This has
become America s top way to show respect to the country. Can you imagine people being
disrespectful during this important moment? Well, whether you believe it or not, the very act
has been happening over and over on America s top sporting fields. Players playing in the NFL
have been kneeling during the national anthem, creating riots in the crowds. Many, many
people died for America s song, but yet people keep on kneeling no matter what people say, even
the President! So, how bad is the kneeling issue? Well, we have to look at why they are doing
this disrespectful act in front of thousands of people. And don t worry, if you don t have a side
on this issue, this essay will help you make a decision. By listening to what fans, players, and
NFL management are saying, we can finally take a side on this important issue. Fans attend
sporting events to escape politics. However, players are booing at kneeling NFL players are
clearly disliking the kneeling, according to salon.com. Nytimes.com states that fans stand up and

Loss of Innocence in Cullen s Incident and Naylor s Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean?
Unfortunately, a question that many African Americans have to ask in childhood is Mommy, what
does nigger mean?, and the answer to this question depicts the racism that still thrives in America
(345). Both Gloria Naylor s Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean? and Countee Cullens Incident
demonstrate how a word like nigger destroys a child s innocence and initiates the child into a world
of racism. Though the situations provoking the racial slur differ, the word nigger has the same
effect on the young Naylor and the child in Cullen s poem. A racist societydevours the white
children s innocence, and, consequently, the white children embody ... Show more content on

Unlike Naylor, Cullen never identifies the sex of the black child in his poem. Perhaps Cullen
renders the child in his poem genderless to give the child a more universal standing; perhaps he
leaves the child genderless in order to focus on the more important fact that the child, whether male
or female, sees no difference between him or herself and the other boy until the Baltimorean boy
calls him/her nigger (3).
Both Cullen and Naylor add color to the description of the children with this single racial epithet.
The white children s use of the word nigger establishes a distinction between them and the black
children in Naylor and Cullen s works which embodies the essence of racism. This distinction
forces the young Naylor and the child in Cullen s poem to see beyond their innocence and to see
themselves and their world in new colors: black and white. Both Naylor and Cullen touch on an
important issue by noting that the first incident of racism for the black children, occurring when
the white children call them nigger, takes place between two children. The fact that the white boys
call the young Naylor and the child in Cullen s poem nigger at such a young age reflects the
unfortunate truth that America teaches color boundaries and racism at a young age. The word
nigger does not exist in white children s vocabulary at birth. Rather, their parents and community
teach them the word and pass down the legacy of racism as if it is an

Inflation and Deflation
I
INTRODUCTION
Inflation and Deflation, in economics, terms used to describe, respectively, a decline or an increase
in the value of money, in relation to the goods and services it will buy. Inflationis the pervasive and
sustained rise in the aggregate level of prices measured by an index of the cost of various goods
and services. Repetitive price increases erode the purchasing power of money and other financial
assets with fixed values, creating serious economic distortions and uncertainty. Inflation results
when actual economic pressures and anticipation of future developments cause the demand for
goods and services to exceed the supply available ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This differs from the CPI in that price subsidization, profits, and taxes may cause the amount
received by the producer to differ from what the consumer paid. There is also typically a delay
between an increase in the PPI and any eventual increase in the CPI. Producer price index measures
the pressure being put on producers by the costs of their raw materials. This could be passed on to
consumers, or it could be absorbed by profits, or offset by increasing productivity. In India and
the United States, an earlier version of the PPI was called the Wholesale Price Index.
Commodity price indices, which measure the price of a selection of commodities. In the present
commodity price indices are weighted by the relative importance of the components to the all in
cost of an employee. Core price indices: because food and oil prices can change quickly due to
changes in supply and demand conditions in the food and oil markets, it can be difficult to detect
the long run trend in price levels when those prices are included. Therefore most statistical
agencies also report a measure of core inflation , which removes the most volatile components
(such as food and oil) from a broad price index like the CPI. Because core inflation is less affected
by short run supply and demand conditions in specific markets, central banks rely on it to better
measure the inflationary impact of current monetary

My Most Memorable Moment In My Life
The definition of fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is
dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. One of my most memorable moments of my life was
the first time I went to Disney Land I was terrified but because of this trip I found out how to face
my fears.
The loud sounds of flying planes over me reminded me one of the scariest things I ve seen on tv
crashing in a plane. I didn t want to even go near the plane but I had to my parents paid
thousands for me to go on this trip so I stepped forward on the flimsy bridge that connects the
loud airport to the metal coffin plane. I knew I was a wimp but I had enough respect to do what
my parents wanted me to do. Flight to Las Angeles now departing. Were those the last words I
would hear besides me screaming to my death? The plane took off it wasn t bad at all maybe I
wouldn t die but time will tell. After an hour on the plane I realized I was going to be ok. Two
hours had passed and I really enjoyed this then over the loud speaker, Now landing in Las
Angeles please tighten seat belts as we land. The pilot stated. The landing, the death of me? But
when we touched the ground it wasn t bad felt a mild bump that was all more fun than scary. On
the way off the plane I looked into the cockpit that might be me one day. That was the day I came
over my fear of planes and actually made me want to be a pilot soaring over the skies seeing the
tiny people this became my dream.
We checked into our hotel and stayed their for the night thinking about the experince I had on
the plane, and thinking about the rides I would go on tomorrow. Most kids would be excited
and thrilled but my ten year old self a coward self was scared. The next day we went on a bus to
the front gates of Disney Land. I entered very anxious for if I would puke or as my mind seemed
set on dyeing. They said this place was magical I made up this stupid thing where if I would step
on certain tiles on the road I would be fine. I stepped up to Splash Mountain still only stepping on
the red tiles of the road. I climbed the walk way to the top of the mountain and stepped into the log
flume ride. I thought I might drown in the foot of water fall off the ride and

Descartes Method Of Doubt Essay
Question: Describe Descartes method of doubt. What beliefs does Descartes think survive his
method of doubt? Do you agree with his arguments? RenГ© Descartes (1556 1650) considered a
rationalist claims that before we can describe reality or what it means to exist, one must know
what reality and existence is. Descartes proposed that it is pointless to claim something is real
without justification. However for something to be justified it must be also be indubitable. In
[RenГ© Descartes, Meditation I, 1641] Descartes argues that ones beliefs can be systematically
doubted. All truths, for example; beliefs, ideas, thoughts, and matter should be doubted in order
to build a belief system that is indubitable. In this essay I will discuss the methods of doubt; these
include perceptual illusions, the dream problem, and a deceiving God. I will also discuss the
phrase I am, I exist and I am a thinking thing that passed the method the doubt. I will use these
methods of doubt and phrases to explain why the arguments are either weak or strong and whether
I agree to their meaning. The Method of Doubt Descartes s task in essence was to create a system
that would support indubitable knowledge; a creation that would allow a foundation for the
expansion of the truth and remove all doubt from knowledge. This means that if something is to be
true it is to be known beyond all reasonable and possible doubt. To do this Descartes uses the
following method: 1. Accepting only information that

Capstone Project Essay
Capstone Project and Research Investigation
Introduction
According to Kirkpatrick and Weaver (2013) the capstone project strives to focus on the practice
that is the final project of the students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. The
characteristics of the DNP capstone project describe either how a practice issue affects the
particular group, population, or community. The project also addresses how knowledge circulates
through translation or integration of evidenced base practice. The capstone project provides a
foundation for future scholarship and reflects the student s understanding of knowledge and
expertise. Furthermore, the capstone project addresses the academic product that reflects the
student s involvement (Webb, 2014).
According to Campbell Benn (2011) a capstone project includes identifying data as a problem in an
actual setting and developing the means to address it. A capstone project can either be research
oriented or design oriented. Resolutions of the project are usually collaborative and can result in the
implementation and utilization. Also identifying a clinically significant teaching, learning need
supported by the scientific literature is the priority of the capstone project. Individualizing the
capstone project include a combination of an academic project with personal experiences, previous
nursing knowledge, and newly acquired graduate skills (Cambell Benn, 2011).

Oligopoly Essays
Oligopoly is a market structure in which only a few sellers offer similar or identical products. It is
an intermediate form of imperfect competition. OPEC is an epitome of Oligopoly.
Features of Oligopoly:
Non Price Competition
Interdependent decision making
Entry Barriers
If organizations behave in cooperative mode to mitigate the competitions amongst themselves it is
called Collusion. When two or more organizations agree to set their outputs or prices to maintain
monopoly it is called as collusive oligopoly.
OPEC acts as a cartel. If OPEC and other oil exporters did not compete, they could ensure much

On one hand domestic consumption was encouraged and production was discouraged resulted in
additional demand for oil from
OPEC and the United states inevitably became more dependent on imported oil during the 1970s.
Perfect Collusion Model:
OPEC recognized their interdependence decided to collaborate in the matter of pricing their
product (Oil). There will be one market demand function (AR MR) and many cost functions (AC
and MC) as the number of competing countries in the OPEC. So various MC curves can then be
summed up horizontally to get the combined MC (CMC). The point where CMC and MR curve
intersect gives the point of maximum profit output. AR curve will give the equilibrium price. The
distribution of industry output among countries would be obtained by equating MR=MC through a
horizontal straight line passing through the point of intersection between CMC and MR curves.
Below is the diagram of Homogeneous oligopoly pricing under perfect collusion:
OPEC output and prices are shown in last part (d) where CMC was obtained by horizontal sum
up of MC1 ,MC2 MC3 i.e. the marginal costs. AR and MR represent demand and corresponding
marginal revenue curves of the OPEC as a whole. OPEC output OQ is divided among the partner
countries as in diagram shown say three as Oq1, Oq2 Oq3. The sum of these outputs equal OPEC
output OQ by construction. Each of the country sells oil at an uniform price equal to OP which is
determined in diagram part (d).

The Importance Of Self-Agency
You are given a first day of school questionnaire for the teacher to get to know you; how much of
your answers are the real deal, and how much of it is tailored to put you in the teacher s good
books? Upon asking this question the next thought could be; what or who defines what the real
answer is or the fabricated one, and does it matter which ones we choose to write down? The long
debated questions surrounding the extent of selfagency have been explored through literature and
other mediums for decades, specifically with rebellious characters like Ednain Kate Chopin s The
Awakening, essays by psychologists like Paul Bloom expanding on the idea of more than one
self in, First Person Plural, and self reflective pieces on adulthood like Sandra Loh s, On Being a
Bad Mother. Through the assessment of a variety of work of this nature, it is logical to conclude
that we are neither completely governed by our external circumstances, nor are we in full control
of ourselves; instead we must acknowledge the multiple facets of who we are, recognize the
different repercussions of suppressing some of those facets, and finally strive to find a balance
between our internal and external locus of control. For convenience s sake, the average person has
thought of themselves as precisely that themselves; but what if we didn t? The notion that we are
comprised of one entity has been accepted as a definite by society, and if one acts otherwise, it is

Culture Is The Sum Total Of Ways Of Living Built Up By A...
What is culture? Culture has a very broad definition. But in terms of anthropology, culture is the
sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation
to another (www.dictionary.com). Culture is learned, it is passed on from many generations. What
is gender? Gender is either the male or femaledivision of a species, especially as differentiated by
social and cultural roles and behavior. However, gender plays a big role in cultureall around the
world. In this analysis essay I will be analyzing how males and females are raised with
differences in third world countries compared to the western culture of the United States. What
are the roles that males and females have? In countries such as India, Pakistan, China, there is
still a lot of controversy about how a male and female should be treated. It has a lot to do with
culture and tradition. Some of these cultural traits have been passed down from generations and
are still around which some people follow. Some may consider it double standards and others may
think that it is the norm. So how is gender related to culture? In society it is expected that the
women and men behave a certain way. The gender disparities are shaped and formed by culture. It
is better explained by Jyotirmaya Tripathy who wrote the article How Gendered is Gendered
Development? Culture, Masculinity, and Gender Differences , she explains that though there has

Platforms And Interfaces Essay
A player s personal experience of transforming platforms and interfaces: from Game Boy to

Accept it or not, video games and gaming are a large part of Australian culture. The average
Australian 21 year old would have spent over 10,000 hours playing games (that s how long it takes
to complete school from year 5 to year 12). For immeasurable reasons such as involvement,
freedom, entertainment and story telling are games such a powerful medium of creative and

The GBA was made particularly popular amongst gaming communities by games such as Zelda
and PokГ©mon. Coloured games were pleasant to look at and the interface overall is easy to
use; a D pad, A B buttons and triggers. This is partly as to why it was so popular among younger
age group fans. The hand held console used small ROM cartridges, and the console came in a
variety of colours and shared compatibility with other Nintendo consoles at the time (GameCube
Game boy colour). Wireless adaptors were one of the biggest innovations to effect GBA users.
For the first time games like PokГ©mon let players interact by battling and trading. The initial
sense was that the game is bigger than yourself and the screen you re looking at, the once single
player experience can now be shared with other friends (which I remember was a huge deal). Due
to these circumstances, the GBA created a strong following and as of June 2010, 81.51 million
units were sold including 16 million copies of one of their most popular bestselling games;
PokГ©mon Ruby and Sapphire3.
Buying a PC is not cheap and can be quite expensive, which is why naturally you d only spend the
money if gaming was one of your biggest hobbies. There are companies that will assemble prebuilt
gaming computers, and establishments that retail mice, keyboards and headsets aimed toward
gamers. PC

Graffiti Research Papers
Graffiti has existed for several decades and it s still going strong. By the definition of any type
of writing on the wall, it actually goes back to ancient Rome. The style of urban graffiti, that most
identify as graffiti, came from New York City in the late 1960s. It was born by the tagging of
subway trains. Tagging means, that they would simply leave their signature in places. For tagging
on the insides of trains, permanent markers worked, but using spray cans of paint quickly became
popular as well, especially for tagging on the outside of trains.
Soon, graffiti became more than just simple tagging, because the graffiti artists, would try to
exceed each other in terms of style. At first, writers would try to make their tags more stylish than
anyone else s. Later on, they would add more colours, special effects, and make their name bigger.
Graffiti really evolved into a complex art form with its own techniques and vocabulary. From
simple tags on the insides of trains to masterpieces that spanned multiple subway cars, the art and
science of graffiti grew quickly and soon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

History, Preparation, Execution, Results, And Lessons...
Introduction In February 1941, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel received command of the recently
created Afrika Korps. The unit deployed to Libya in order to support the Italian Army that had
recently suffered setbacks against the British forces. For the next two years, Rommel s forces
fought across the North African desert against British forces led by Generals Archibald Wavell,
Claude Auchinleck, and Bernard Montgomery. The culminating point for this campaign was the two
battles of El Alamein, after which the Germans retreated to Tunisia and eventually surrendered.
This case study will examine the history, preparation, execution, results, and lessons learned during
the Battles of El Alamein and how that defeat helped lead to the overall Axis defeat in World War
II (WWII).
History
The fighting on the African continent began before WWII. Italy, in the late 19th century, had
colonies in Libya, Eritrea, and Somaliland (now Somalia). In 1935, Bunito Mussolini, the dictator
of Italy, wanted to have an Italian East African Empire. To accomplish this, his Italian forces
conquered Ethiopia by 1936, forming his empire consisting of Somaliland, Eritrea, and Ethiopia.
The British, meanwhile, provided soldiers for the defense of the Suez Canal in Egypt in
accordance with the Anglo Egyptian Treaty of 1936. With Mussolini declaring war on England and
France in June 1940, Britain found itself surrounded by Italian forces.

Individual Privacy vs. National Security
Individual Privacy vs. National Security is something that many people have argued for years.
Many people have forgotten what a disturbance September 11, 2001 was to everyone in America.
This was the day that 2,992 lives were stolen in the attacks by the Taliban on U.S. soil. Due to this
attack the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) along with the Federal Government has
put in place many new security regulations. Many people have lost touch with why these

The device carried by Abdulmutallab was not detectable by any device in wide spread use at the
time, other than a dog trained to detect bombs with its sense of smell. As a result, advanced
imaging technology (AIT) machinery, also known as full body scanners, were deployed more
widely across America. Even though these full body scanners were recognized by security experts
as being better and more effective at detecting prohibited items than the ordinary metal detectors
that had been in use for decades passengers objected to the new scanners, because they are able to
take images through the subject s clothing, and their alternative, a physical pat down inspection by
a TSA security officer similar to what police officers use to search subjects when they are taken into
custody. Critics claim AIT scanner images and pat downs violate the Fourth Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution, which guarantees the right of citizens to be protected from unreasonable searches,
but those same critics have not offered viable alternatives that would safeguard the traveling public
from attacks like those of Abdulmutallab. In other words, some activists became more focused on
safeguarding their personal privacy and rights at the risk of their personal safety.

Essay on The Benefits of Hydrogen Cars
The Advantages of Hydrogen Cars
As you know, gas prices are going up. Nobody likes paying more money for gas and yet nobody is
willing to do anything about it. Now that we are at war with the Middle East (the main gasoline
providers) the gas prices are going to keep going up. Some people (like foreign ambassadors) say
that trade with the Middle East is good for there economy, but I for one don t like being dependant
on foreign oil. That is where hydrogen fuel cells come into the picture. Rather than depending on a
foreign countries oil, to provide fuel, businesses today should look to hydrogen as an alternative
fuel source.

Then there is the fact that everybody would have to buy new cars in order for the process to work,
most people do not have the money, but the government could always do some kind of fund to
get the money for the people to buy the cars. Mechanics would have to go back to school to learn
how to work on the new cars, or they could put a small training course out and give it to the
mechanics. Finally, the last major problem with hydrogen is the fact that it is more flammable
then gasoline, this is only true if the gas is not contained properly. When you think of hydrogen,
you think of the blimp the Hindenburg, which was a hydrogen filled blimp, and then it explodes
because the gas was not contained properly. I think that all these problems can be fixed. Cars
powered by hydrogen get better gas mileage. They can go double the distance or even triple the
distance of the car with the best gas mileage on the market. The cars can t go as fast as cars can
today, but they can get very close. Toyota is the biggest supporter of hydrogen powered vehicles.
They already have working hydrogen cars in other countries on the road. They have many
prototypes ready and waiting for the US. Some people (like President Bush) like the idea for
hydrogen powered vehicles. He put in $3 billion after 9/11 towards hydrogen powered vehicles.

How Are People Going To Survive The Trip?
During this announcement which dazzled dozens, Musk provided few and limited details about
the possible life inside the spaceship. However, he mentioned that the trip, by a spaceship that

One of the biggest concerns is definitely the increased levels of radiation. The deep space contains
energized particles from deep space cosmic rays and solar flares which can potentially harm people
during the voyage.
Where Will The Colonist Live And How Will They Survive?
This is the second issue Musk highlighted lightly. He mentioned that the concern of SpaceX was to

The illegal immigration numbers in the United States grew by an average of 525,000 people per
year from 2000 to 2005. President Fox and his government have allowed the illegal immigration
population to increase every year, for at least five years. That is not a system that regulates
movement in a legal way. Fox has stated before that he would like to see legal channels for
immigrants (Thompson 1). Everyone wants to have legal channels for immigrants and President
Fox has expressed it many times, but he does not seem to want to take the necessary action
towards getting these legal channels for immigrants. Should there be legal channels or should
there be stronger laws against immigration. W.E. Jacobs writes that during the 1920s laws to
control immigration have ranged from outright bans to some nationalities to numerical quotas
imposed according to country origin (Jacobs 1). At least during the 1920s the American
government seemed to have some sort of idea on how to keep illegal immigration down. Although
laws and bans can only go so far. Maybe during the 20s all it took was a written document to keep
immigrants at bay, but now the situation has grown slightly more complicated. The situation gets
even worse as the United States population grows. A census is taken every ten years, and that

Versailles Peace Treaty Causes
What causes war? An escalation of a disagreement or argument perhaps? A failure of economy
maybe? A desperate society willing to support tyranny for the sake of their country? Questions
such as these form in many minds wondering after finally ending the first world war ever known

Peace Treaty did but the opposite of extending peace but provoked hostility. Out of the 440

Mustang Descriptive Writing
Rumbling, the rumbling of a flowmasters FX exhaust echos through the streets. From the
source of this rumble sits an eighty six Ford Mustang GT Hatchback. The Mustang is black as
the night sky on a new moon. The rust over the rear quarter panels display the age of the
Mustang. The eighty six has a miniscule amount of dents and dings in the body to flaunt its
battle scars. The hood wields a small cowl and six vent louvers to release excess heat and air
induction. The Mustang sits still as it idles in front an old cracked red brick building. The stance
of the GT is as if the car is taunting you, even daring you to drive it. The smell of gasoline and
exhaust fumes fill the air as you approach the Mustang. The aroma of methanol begins to linger in

Enchantment in John Keats La Belle Dame Sans Merica
Listening to poetry and music can be a mind altering experience. The reader or listener becomes
enchanted by their work. By enchantment their work seeks actively to impact the consciousness of
his readers and listeners. La Belle Dame Sans Merica, written by John Keats in 1884, characterizes
an enchanting folk ballad. Folk ballads are usually about the destructiveness of love. The speaker, a
knightin despair, rejects the real world for the ideal beauty and enchantment the dame, whom he is
seduced by, represents.
We encounter an anonymous speaker who is concerned about the Knights well being. But does the
knight s condition exist in his own mind and perception. The passerby describes his physical state
that also depicts his internal state:
With anguish moist and fever dew,10
And on thy cheeks a fading roseFast withereth too. His perspiration suggests his sickness while his
love with the dame that was once blooming is slowly withering away. His deteriorating state puts
the knight in a vulnerable position. It also leaves the reader wondering whether or not this man is a
reliable narrator. When our speaker first encounters the lady, he only speaks about her external
characteristics:
I met a lady in the meads,Full beautiful a faery s child,
Her hair was long, her foot was light,15 And her eyes were wild.
He ignores the signs that she may be potentially dangerous and instead longs for her. Her eyes
indicate her uncanniness and she is seen as

Water And Its Properties That Makes It A Essential For All...
1. Introduction
Water and its properties are very essential for all living things. In fact, scientists are paying close
attention to presence of liquid water on other planets in efforts to find extraterrestrial life in
space. Water has properties that makes it a key role to sustain life 1. As it is a universal solvent,
it acts as a medium for most biochemical reactions 2. Without water, it is impossible for a living
thing to function. Zooming out, water is important in daily life as many aspects depend on water.
Water is used for domestic and industrial purposes. On average, people in the United States drink
110 million gallon of water everyday 3. In total, 400 billion gallon of water is used in United
states everyday 4. Natural freshwater is not completely pure. It contains solute dissolved from
erosion of minerals and dissolved gases from the atmosphere 5. Calcium, Ca2+, and magnesium,
Mg2+, are the most common and abundant solutes found in natural waters. This is due to the
presence of natural minerals such as limestone and dolomite 6. The hardness of water is defined as
the concentration of dissolved mineral cations, mainly calcium and magnesium, in water. Therefore,
by this definition, a hard water contains high concentration of solutes and a soft water contains low
concentration of solutes 5. The following table shows the water hardness category according to the
United States Department of Interior and the Water Quality Association 7.

INTRODUCCIГ“N

Achievement of the American Dream of an African American...
The Huxtable family in The Cosby Show represents the overarching achievement of the American
dream through an African American family. According to Marvin Riggs s 1992 documentary Color
Adjustment there were two types of images of African Americans in the media. On one hand, the
news showed the social and racial tensions that enveloped the post civil rights era. On the other
hand, primetime television depicted social harmony among the races an image that most Americans
understood as inaccurate. In the 1980s, most African Americans lived below the poverty line and
primetime television hesitated to present that challenged ideology of the American Dream to the
viewing public. Henry Louis Gates Jr. argues, in Color Adjustment, that the Black urban sitcoms
demonstrated both the greatest potential for representing Black life in television s history and also
the greatest failure. Residing comfortably in a Brooklyn brownstone, the Huxtables embodied a
nuclear and solid family resolving everyday issues of urban life, showing that African Americans
could move beyond the stereotypical realm of crooks and servants. The world of the Huxtable
family created an aspirational fantasy for minorities groups. The I m With The In Crowd episode
succeeds in creating this sense of hope for African Americans by idealizing the Huxtable family
through the use of costume and set design, while perpetuating certain African Americanstereotypes
through acting methods and the non diegetic laughter of

I went to Keiki Hau oli Children s Center preschool room for my prosocial observation
assignment. During my visit, it was indoor free play time, meanwhile teachers were offering
breakfast. The schedule is not rush, they can play indoor and outdoor with free choices for one
hour. First, the room was organized by the section. Each section has double or multiple amount of
toys for children to play with their friends. For example, on a shelf, there are three baby dolls and
their matching clothes. Children interact each other by asking questions such as, Baby is hungry.
What can I do? Another childsaid, I will show you. She used her baby bottle to pretend feeding a
baby. There is big open floor space in the back of the room for the children to play freely.
Children were playing with blocks and cars on that open floor. Some were playing with Kapla
on a low table with one caregiver. Other children were sitting at the carpet, listening a story.
Children play peacefully because there are variety of activity choices they can play. Two things
if I am able to change, I will change the floor arrangement and add more books. First, I will move
free floor space from back of the room to the middle close to the entrance because I can hear them

The First Personal Digital Assistant
The first Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) was introduced to the American market by Apple in
1993. It was called the Apple Newton MessagePad. John Sculley, Apple s then CEO coined the
term Personal Digital Assistant specifically for this device. It was created to be just that an assistant
to the user. The Newtonboasted handwriting recognition, plug in memory cards, IR
communications, and with the purchase of an additional modem Newton could also fax and send
email (Zeldes 2005). It could take notes, remember contacts and manage calendars. The Newton
was considered quite innovative at its debut, despite its fairly bulky size and legendary (often
comical) issues with the handwriting recognition software. While Newton was far... Show more

introduced. Each one promised to ease the life of a person on the go and many delivered on that
promise. These truly were personal digital assistants, keeping your contact lists, reminding you
of your appointments and sending email. However, many of these formerly innovative devices
are just a footnote in PDA history because today s digital assistant bears scant resemblance to its
ancestors. Typing an email on your PDA is passГ© now voice recognition commands the world

Siri, the intelligent personal assistant that helps you get things done just by asking. Siri, which
stands for Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface, was actually created by the Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in conjunction with the research group SRI

mainstream in 2011 on Apple s very popular iPhone. Siri wakes and responds to your commands
after you speak the wake words Hey, Siri. In order to assist you, Siri is always listening for that
activation phrase. Always. Once a user has activated Siri with those words, Siri springs into
action. Simple commands that can be handled on the iPhone or iPad itself, such as asking it to
send a text or create a reminder, are handled locally by

Autumn Rhythm, By Robert Rauschenberg, And Marilyn Diptych
Abstract Expressionism began in the 1940s and the 1950s in New York after World War II from the
ideas of Surrealism about art that looks to examining the unconscious mind, and the feelings people
hold that makes us all humans. Through the discussion of Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) by
Jackson Pollock, I will define Abstract Expression and why this work is part of this movement.
Then, through the discussion of Canyon by Robert Rauschenberg, Target with Plaster Casts by
Jasper Johns, and Marilyn Diptych by Andy Warhol, I will explain Assemblage and Pop Artand why
each of these works belong to those movements. Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) is Jackson Pollock s
most famous piece that shows action painting, a defining technique of Abstract Expressionism, and
his innovative drip painting technique he developed in 1940. Pollock created his piece by
placing the canvas on the floor, then he used brushes, or even his hands and started to drip the
paint on the surface. His distinct technique of painting makes him absorbed in the creation of his
art piece without being aware of what he is doing. Therefore, Pollock is free from realism and
from his own self through painting because it relieves his anxiety now that he is focused only on
his art. Pollock s work is classified as non objective because Autumn Rhythm (Number 30) cannot
be related to any recognizable object from real life, so he is not constraint by reality, but goes
outside the box as if liberated to soar free and paint from his

Great Expectations Setting Essay
The settings of Great Expectations are Pip s homes, one home that he lives in during his
childhood in Kent, England, and the other that he lives in when he is grown in London, England.
Social status was a big deal in the mid nineteenth century. The rich were highly respected and liked
by all, and the poor were treated unkindly and were sometimes made fun of. The rich could have
any job that they liked, but the poor would almost always take over the job that their father had.
The narrator of Great Expectationsis Pip. If the novel were narrated from any other point of view,
it would not have the same effect as it does now. The protagonist of Great Expectations is Pip. At

There are many symbols in Great Expectations. The one that caught my eye the most was the
stopped clocks in Miss Havisham s house. She wants to stop time because that s when she was
going to get married. On page 44, Pip noticed this: I took note of the surrounding objects in
detail, and saw that her watch was stopped at twenty minutes to nine, and a clock in the room
had been stopped at twenty minutes to nine. The Satis House represents how much Pip wanted
to be an upper classman gentleman. When Pip was inside of the house, he shared with the
reader, This was very uncomfortable, and I was half afraid. The last symbol would be Joe
representing Pip s conscience, because Joe was so kind to Pip. For example, when Mrs. Joe
would shriek at Pip, Joe offered me more gravy. Pip was always being pushed around by grown
ups. He was forced to bring a man food. He was in love with Estella, who was mean to him and
made fun of him. Pip was forced to work with Joe and another cruel man named Orlick. His
sister, with whom he was living with, was attacked one day, but no one knew who it was. Pip
moved to London and met Herbert Pocket and became friends with him. Pip met the man who
forced him to bring food one day. The man, named Abel Magwitch, revealed that he was Pip s
secret benefactor. Pip gets a note one day to go to the marshes. He does, and Orlick was there,
informing Pip that it was he that had killed Mrs. Joe. When Herbert comes and tries to catch

Discussion of Virtue in Meno by Socrates
Plato reveals the views of Socrates on the query of whether virtue is knowledge and whether virtue
may be taught in a number of dialogues, mainly in Meno. In the dialogue, Socrates creates several
differing arguments on virtue, which include the definition of virtue and questions on whether
persons can attain it. In addition, Platodemonstrates the means by which virtuecan be obtained, as
well as ponders on whether persons are born virtuous, whether virtue may be taught or it is an
added factor for righteous individuals (Novelguide.com n.pag.). The paper will focus on
Socrates query of whether virtue is knowledge as well as highlight whether virtue may be taught.
After Meno asks his initial question, that is whether a person can be able to be taught virtue, or a
person can gain the same through nature, Socrates assents to continue but argues that a common
understanding is required since neither of them could be capable of comprehensively explaining
the meaning of virtue. Then Meno was made to consent that if virtue is not knowledge then one
cannot be taught virtue. However, if it is knowledge, it can be taught (Holbo and Waring).
Socrates asserts that a person can teach something only if he or she is acquainted with what it is
that he/she is teaching. A person who does not know how to drive a vehicle himself of herself is
unlikely to be capable of teaching another person how to do so. Meno and Socrates fully agree that
no one exactly knows what virtue means, and due to

The success of this process is predetermined in part by the livers ability to properly convert the
drug into a less lipophilic form that cannot be reabsorbed. For alprazolam, the course of
elimination relies heavily on the kidneys. Age related renal function must thereby be considered
when administering alprazolam. The kidneys are responsible for removing the unbound drug in
the plasma by glomerular filtration, proximal tubular secretion, and distal tubular reabsorption.
The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is roughly 20% of the renal plasma flow (Harvey, 2014).
Drugs that exclusively rely on the kidneys for elimination can accumulate and have toxic effects
with renal impairment. In older adults there is a progressive decline in GFR of 10% per decade
following age 50 (Breenan, 2015). This change is age related, however like those with renal disease

Discuss the Ways In Which Two Poems In The Anthology Explore The
Effects Of Untimely Death
When men went to war, there was every chance of them dying. But, their friends and family could
never had prepared themselves for news of that person s death. Untimely death is a theme which is
explored throughout the anthology in many ways, in particular, looking at the effects of the news
of death upon loved ones.
The Seed Merchant s Son is a poem by Agnes Grozier Herbertson that conveys the bereavement that
a man feels for his son who has died at war. This poem continuously emphasises the youth of the
boy, which constantly reiterates the idea of untimely death, as the boy died before he could live a
full life. The fact that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author uses elipses toward the end of the poem to generate a dramatic silence which could be
seen as the silence after the death of the young soldier had been told to his father and the shock
and desperation that the man felt during that time. The man would have thought about his son who
had never before seen seed or sod . This line uses sibilance which has a threatening sound to it
which could be interpreted as the fear that the young soldiers would all have to go through knowing
that they might never again feel a sence of solace.
By the end of this poem, the man has come to terms with the boy s death as although the man is
sadened, he is very proud of his son for fighting for his country. The man murmurs thank G d,
thank G d , showing that he is proud of his son for the sacrifice he made.
Another poem in the anthology that portrays the pathos involved and explores the repracussions of
untimely death is The Deserter by
Winifred M. Letts, which tells of the soldiers being forced to go to war and being dogged by fear .
The author writes how one man who
could not face the German guns was shot by an English bullet in his heart for desertion. He was
shot in a place apart , showing that he was absolutely alone and could be interpreted that

The Sixteenth Amendment Of The United States Constitution
The Sixteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution gives the United States government
the right to tax income. This amendment guarantees that our nation will have an army, our
government will build our roads, enforce our laws and carry through with other important
duties, all through federal taxation. The Sixteenth Amendment is still doing its job today as all
people are required to pay the government a portion of their income. Most of the government s
money comes from the taxes of the people. Without these taxes the government would be unable
to function and our system that runs our country would be very different. We also wouldn t have
plans like Social Security or Medicare if paying income tax was not in place. Although taxes
play a good part for our nation, there is another hand that can come in and play a bad part
depending on what party is running our country. Taxation can be made so that everyone has to
pay the same amount regardless of your income. This effects the lower income classes the most
and the higher income classes the least as they have the money to pay it. It depends on who you
ask and what their specific viewpoint is on taxation. It is a good that our country put this law in
place for the sake of our government, we all just hope that the person running our government doesn
t make it out of control. The Supreme Court case of Pollock v. Farmer s Loan and Trust Company
directly applies to the Sixteenth Amendment. This Court case dealt with income

  • 2. Death Schone Magelone By Ludwig Tieck Sind es Schumerzen, sind es Freuden ( are they sorrows or are they joys ) is a song from Brahms song cycle Romanzen aus L. Tieck s Magelone, Op. 33 No. 3. As text for his song cycle, Brahms chose excerpts from the novel Die schГ¶ne Magelone by Ludwig Tieck (1773 1853). The novel tells a love story between Peter von Provence and Magelone, the king s daughter. In this particular song, Peter and Magelone falls in love with each other. Though Brahms is most widely known as an instrumental composer, more than half of his opus numbers are devoted to vocal works. In Brahms song cycles, he avoided the traditional strophic forms. Instead, he chooses dramatic shifts in music material, unpredictable harmonies, and sudden changes in tempoand rhythm. The song starts with an unusually long piano introduction that lasted 8 measures, gives an idea of the large scale of this song. The rolled chords (mm.1 8) and broken octaves underneath the beautiful melody suggesting Peter s lute. The vocal line begins with the expressive melody identical to the beginning of the piano introduction. It is characterized by embellishments on words sind (to be), busen (bosom) and wГјnsche (desire). Emphasizing Peter yearning for Magelone s love. The second stanza is set to the same music as the first stanza, and Brahms even indicates this with a repeat sign rather than notating the music twice. The harmony of the verse ends on a half cadence but the chords at the last measure are not rolled, (mm.20) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Historical Similarities Of Adolf Hitler And Donald Trump Many conditions point towards Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump with how they took power as political leaders. Hitler and Trump both put down people of different backgrounds based on looks, people who love different, etc. The trend that Americans are seeing today is similar to what Germany imposed on their people back in the 1930 s. The slow gradual steps of oppression and discrimination that Trump does everyday will eventually cause the downfall of America if we do not speak up and realize how wrong all of this is. To better understand what factors would cause one to imply such a claim it is important to understand Adolf Hitlers background and Donald Trump s background and the historical comparisons. IMPOSING THE ASSUMPTION OF HOW TRUMP IS SIMILAR TO HITLER Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in the Upper Austrian border town Braunau am Inn, located approximately 65 miles east east of Munich and nearly 30 miles north of Salzburg. In 1898, the Hitler moved with his family to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. Hitler always has a passion for art. However, Hitler s father never approved of him pursuing art. Hitler s father wanted him to seek interest in the job of entering into the Hasburg Civil Service. Soon later though Hitler s father passed and the death of him meant that he could now pursue his dream of becoming an artist. In 1907 Hitler decided that he wanted to try and gain acceptance to the Academy of the Arts in Vienna. Hitler failed miserably at getting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His main doctorate was in genetics and he scantly had any training in chemistry or physics for that matter. The ineptitude to chemistry he attributes to his own laziness. (Page 10). Watson found the model building approach employed by Linus Pauling as a sensational new method to solving the alpha helix as the structure for proteins (Pages 18 19 Watson s approach to solving the DNA (deoxyribose nucleic acid) was to employ model building as done by Linus Pauling at Cal Tech for the alpha helix structure of proteins. Watson was wary of the fact that Pauling relied on simple laws of structural chemistry to solve his model rather complex mathematical approach (Page 27). Such an approach meant that Watson who was trained in the arts of Physics or Chemistry could dabble at the model for a DNA without having to spend an extravagant time required to learn the arts of X ray crystallography and in depth chemistry. This approach suited Watson s ambition of a quick shot at the glory he so desired. Watson also realised that X ray data... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This development further increased the knowledge and application of the theory of how helices were supposed to look in X ray photographs for Watson and Crick coalition. • 6. Analysis Of Foxy s U.s. Expansion Essay Our report examined Foxy s U.S. expansion, which is occurring due to oversaturation in Canada, and whether it should be executed by use of a trade show distribution strategy with high fixed costs, or a sales representative distribution strategy with low fixed costs. With trade shows, the two founders will be able to show their own energy and passion for their work, while networking with relevant American industry leaders. However, they would be competing for attention with thousands of other booths, making it essential to capture the attention of retailers. Furthermore, the time commitment to trade shows could dilute the attention they pay to their Canadian Foxy brand. Sales representatives would have an easier time entering the market which could lead to quicker profits. While it would initially be less of a time commitment to hire sales representatives, it would remain an ongoing commitment to monitor the representatives and find new representatives if necessary. The high fixed cost nature of trade shows will make it more difficult for Foxy to break even. However, this will ensure a higher contribution margin which could leads to larger profits after breaking even. This, combatted with a wider variation of potential orders, leads to an unpredictable operating income that could easily exceed Foxy s goals or miss it by a lot. This strategy would involve a higher operating leverage, which would enable Foxy to see a larger increase in profit as sales increase. Conversely, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Religous Unaffiliated in the Article, “Nones on the Rise We all know that religion is an organized system regarding the spiritual or supernatural along with various practices that give numerous individuals a sense of purpose in the world and allows these individuals to understand things beyond their reach. However, while reading the articles from Nones on the Rise, it is evident that there is an increase in the number of individuals who claim unaffiliation to any religionin the United States. Nones gives the facts and figures of the Americans who do not place themselves in any religious category, with an approximate one in five of the public claiming no affiliation. But there are some individuals who denote themselves as spiritual or religious in some way. The entire article is an intriguing one because it breaks everything down, from what it means to be unaffiliated religiously to the composition of the unaffiliated, the demographics of the unaffiliated and theories as to why there is an increase in the numbers of the years. It is interesting to see how people view themselves when it comes to their beliefs. The article discusses a couple of reasons behind the increase of unaffiliated Americans. It is thought that the growth is a result of newer generations replacing older generations. It is evident that elders are more likely to proclaim religion than young adults. They have been in the business for a century and are not going anywhere. A amp;F sees their fair share of mock items and lawsuits. However, through it all, A amp;F has made it to be successful, overcome threats, and open similar chains to target a wider range age market. Introduction Abercrombie amp; Fitch was founded in 1892 as a unique clothing store. Over the century in business they have made a distinct target for young adults. That is no small feat for any company. A amp;F has also branched out into branding sub chain stores such as Hollister and Abercrombie. These stores reach the younger audience while still maintaining an image that is more suitable for that audience. Those stores have also flourished in their own environment to gain consumer recognition and loyalty. A amp;F is able to create successful sub brand operations that tap into other target markets. Greatest Weaknesses The greatest weaknesses that A amp;F has is that the economic downturn has forced consumers to tone down their spending habits and give up non necessary items like brand name clothing. This has been especially hard on online sales for A amp;F. The company s sales for online items have been down and the profit margin is non existent. This makes it hard to keep the online service available when it does not offer the company with any profit. The lawsuits A amp;F face are not only because of suggestive advertising but because some view them as discriminatory against minorities. Often A amp;F ads have a picture of white young adults. This is seen as that is A amp;F only target; white young adults. In 2005, Abercrombie paid $40 million to a class of African Americans, Asian Americans, Latinos and women to settle another workplace discrimination lawsuit, (Casabona, 2010, para. 7). Abstract The goal of this paper is to make people aware of the excessive forms of control measures which California control laws enforce. In fact, most teenagers today are exceptionally vulnerable to social conformity issues simply because social acceptance at their age is important. However, they are not the only victims struggling in this stage; there are also adults who are still swayed by the public opinions. This stage of social conformity, according to the Kohlberg s stages of moral development, is often referred to as the Interpersonal (tribal) conformity. This is applied to the large population of teenagers rather than the adults. In the book The Great Gatsby, the peers around Daisy had a tremendous influence upon her decisions. The [s]ocial psychologists have suggested that one core function of compliance and conformity is to maintain group harmony ( Social Influence and the Brain:Persuasion, Susceptibility to Influence and Retransmission Cascio,Scholz,Falk) and this applies to many individuals who value public opinions more than their own. They seek to be good people and make an effort to follow the trend of the crowd. More often than not, this also relates to the confidence level of an individual, If those others agree with one s beliefs, one gains confidence in them; if they disagree, one loses confidence ( Conformity, Levine). This is indeed what many people face today from all different phases of life. Daisy, one of the characters in the book The Great Gatsby, is a perfect example of a person soaked into social conformity. They are antimicrobial compounds like antibiotics, antifungal, ant parasitic, etc., but they have their own different mode of action because viruses differ from bacteria and other organisms in a way that they lack cell wall and cell membrane. They contain a core of nucleic acid that may be DNA or RNA, surrounded by the protein coat. Viruses are obligate intracellular parasites, which means that they cannot grow outside the host cell, they always require a host cell for their multiplication. It inhibits the incorporation of viral DNA into the host DNA. An enzyme called integrase help in the insertion of viral DNA into the host DNA by making a cut in the host DNA at some points and then inserting the viral DNA into it. This enzyme has active sites through which it makes a cut in host DNA. The inhibition process occurs when INSTIs attach to the active sites of the enzyme, preventing the enzyme from making a cut in host DNA, therefore, inhibiting insertion. Dolutegravir and Raltegravir: It is an Integrase Inhibitor that works by binding to the active sites of the enzyme and displaces one end of the DNA strand, making it impossible for the viral DNA to be integrated into the host DNA. Both Cullen and Naylor add color to the description of the children with this single racial epithet. The white children s use of the word nigger establishes a distinction between them and the black children in Naylor and Cullen s works which embodies the essence of racism. This distinction forces the young Naylor and the child in Cullen s poem to see beyond their innocence and to see themselves and their world in new colors: black and white. Both Naylor and Cullen touch on an important issue by noting that the first incident of racism for the black children, occurring when the white children call them nigger, takes place between two children. The fact that the white boys call the young Naylor and the child in Cullen s poem nigger at such a young age reflects the unfortunate truth that America teaches color boundaries and racism at a young age. RenГ© Descartes (1556 1650) considered a rationalist claims that before we can describe reality or what it means to exist, one must know what reality and existence is. Descartes proposed that it is pointless to claim something is real without justification. However for something to be justified it must be also be indubitable. In [RenГ© Descartes, Meditation I, 1641] Descartes argues that ones beliefs can be systematically doubted. • 30. Platforms And Interfaces Essay A player s personal experience of transforming platforms and interfaces: from Game Boy to personal computers Introduction Accept it or not, video games and gaming are a large part of Australian culture. The average Australian 21 year old would have spent over 10,000 hours playing games (that s how long it takes to complete school from year 5 to year 12). For immeasurable reasons such as involvement, freedom, entertainment and story telling are games such a powerful medium of creative and interactive media7. Coloured games were pleasant to look at and the interface overall is easy to use; a D pad, A B buttons and triggers. This is partly as to why it was so popular among younger age group fans. The hand held console used small ROM cartridges, and the console came in a variety of colours and shared compatibility with other Nintendo consoles at the time (GameCube Game boy colour). Wireless adaptors were one of the biggest innovations to effect GBA users. For the first time games like PokГ©mon let players interact by battling and trading. The initial sense was that the game is bigger than yourself and the screen you re looking at, the once single player experience can now be shared with other friends (which I remember was a huge deal). Due to these circumstances, the GBA created a strong following and as of June 2010, 81.51 million units were sold including 16 million copies of one of their most popular bestselling games; PokГ©mon Ruby and Sapphire3. • 31. Graffiti Research Papers Graffiti has existed for several decades and it s still going strong. By the definition of any type of writing on the wall, it actually goes back to ancient Rome. The style of urban graffiti, that most identify as graffiti, came from New York City in the late 1960s. It was born by the tagging of subway trains. Tagging means, that they would simply leave their signature in places. For tagging on the insides of trains, permanent markers worked, but using spray cans of paint quickly became popular as well, especially for tagging on the outside of trains. Soon, graffiti became more than just simple tagging, because the graffiti artists, would try to exceed each other in terms of style. At first, writers would try to make their tags more stylish than anyone else s. Later on, they would add more colours, special effects, and make their name bigger. Graffiti really evolved into a complex art form with its own techniques and vocabulary. The unit deployed to Libya in order to support the Italian Army that had recently suffered setbacks against the British forces. For the next two years, Rommel s forces fought across the North African desert against British forces led by Generals Archibald Wavell, Claude Auchinleck, and Bernard Montgomery. The culminating point for this campaign was the two battles of El Alamein, after which the Germans retreated to Tunisia and eventually surrendered. This case study will examine the history, preparation, execution, results, and lessons learned during the Battles of El Alamein and how that defeat helped lead to the overall Axis defeat in World War II (WWII). History The fighting on the African continent began before WWII. Italy, in the late 19th century, had colonies in Libya, Eritrea, and Somaliland (now Somalia). In 1935, Bunito Mussolini, the dictator of Italy, wanted to have an Italian East African Empire. To accomplish this, his Italian forces conquered Ethiopia by 1936, forming his empire consisting of Somaliland, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. The British, meanwhile, provided soldiers for the defense of the Suez Canal in Egypt in accordance with the Anglo Egyptian Treaty of 1936. With Mussolini declaring war on England and France in June 1940, Britain found itself surrounded by Italian forces. Mussolini wanted to link the two sections of his ... Many people have forgotten what a disturbance September 11, 2001 was to everyone in America. This was the day that 2,992 lives were stolen in the attacks by the Taliban on U.S. soil. Due to this attack the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) along with the Federal Government has put in place many new security regulations. Even though these full body scanners were recognized by security experts as being better and more effective at detecting prohibited items than the ordinary metal detectors that had been in use for decades passengers objected to the new scanners, because they are able to take images through the subject s clothing, and their alternative, a physical pat down inspection by a TSA security officer similar to what police officers use to search subjects when they are taken into custody. Critics claim AIT scanner images and pat downs violate the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees the right of citizens to be protected from unreasonable searches, but those same critics have not offered viable alternatives that would safeguard the traveling public from attacks like those of Abdulmutallab. Nobody likes paying more money for gas and yet nobody is willing to do anything about it. Some people (like foreign ambassadors) say that trade with the Middle East is good for there economy, but I for one don t like being dependant on foreign oil. When you think of hydrogen, you think of the blimp the Hindenburg, which was a hydrogen filled blimp, and then it explodes because the gas was not contained properly. The Huxtable family in The Cosby Show represents the overarching achievement of the American dream through an African American family. According to Marvin Riggs s 1992 documentary Color Adjustment there were two types of images of African Americans in the media. On one hand, the news showed the social and racial tensions that enveloped the post civil rights era. On the other hand, primetime television depicted social harmony among the races an image that most Americans understood as inaccurate. In the 1980s, most African Americans lived below the poverty line and primetime television hesitated to present that challenged ideology of the American Dream to the viewing public. Henry Louis Gates Jr. argues, in Color Adjustment, that the Black urban sitcoms demonstrated both the greatest potential for representing Black life in television s history and also the greatest failure. Residing comfortably in a Brooklyn brownstone, the Huxtables embodied a nuclear and solid family resolving everyday issues of urban life, showing that African Americans could move beyond the stereotypical realm of crooks and servants. The world of the Huxtable family created an aspirational fantasy for minorities groups. In the dialogue, Socrates creates several differing arguments on virtue, which include the definition of virtue and questions on whether persons can attain it. In addition, Platodemonstrates the means by which virtuecan be obtained, as well as ponders on whether persons are born virtuous, whether virtue may be taught or it is an added factor for righteous individuals (Novelguide.com n.pag.). The paper will focus on Socrates query of whether virtue is knowledge as well as highlight whether virtue may be taught. After Meno asks his initial question, that is whether a person can be able to be taught virtue, or a person can gain the same through nature, Socrates assents to continue but argues that a common understanding is required since neither of them could be capable of comprehensively explaining the meaning of virtue. Then Meno was made to consent that if virtue is not knowledge then one cannot be taught virtue. However, if it is knowledge, it can be taught (Holbo and Waring). Socrates asserts that a person can teach something only if he or she is acquainted with what it is that he/she is teaching. The success of this process is predetermined in part by the livers ability to properly convert the drug into a less lipophilic form that cannot be reabsorbed. For alprazolam, the course of elimination relies heavily on the kidneys. Age related renal function must thereby be considered when administering alprazolam. The kidneys are responsible for removing the unbound drug in the plasma by glomerular filtration, proximal tubular secretion, and distal tubular reabsorption. The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is roughly 20% of the renal plasma flow (Harvey, 2014). Drugs that exclusively rely on the kidneys for elimination can accumulate and have toxic effects with renal impairment. In older adults there is a progressive decline in GFR of 10% per decade following age 50 (Breenan, 2015). This change is age related, however like those with renal disease or injury, close monitoring and dosing adjustments must be carefully ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discuss the Ways In Which Two Poems In The Anthology Explore The Effects Of Untimely Death When men went to war, there was every chance of them dying. But, their friends and family could never had prepared themselves for news of that person s death. Untimely death is a theme which is explored throughout the anthology in many ways, in particular, looking at the effects of the news of death upon loved ones. The Seed Merchant s Son is a poem by Agnes Grozier Herbertson that conveys the bereavement that a man feels for his son who has died at war. This poem continuously emphasises the youth of the boy, which constantly reiterates the idea of untimely death, as the boy died before he could live a full life. The fact that the ... The author uses elipses toward the end of the poem to generate a dramatic silence which could be seen as the silence after the death of the young soldier had been told to his father and the shock and desperation that the man felt during that time. The man would have thought about his son who had never before seen seed or sod . This line uses sibilance which has a threatening sound to it which could be interpreted as the fear that the young soldiers would all have to go through knowing that they might never again feel a sence of solace. By the end of this poem, the man has come to terms with the boy s death as although the man is sadened, he is very proud of his son for fighting for his country. The man murmurs thank G d, thank G d , showing that he is proud of his son for the sacrifice he made. Another poem in the anthology that portrays the pathos involved and explores the repracussions of untimely death is The Deserter by Winifred M. Letts, which tells of the soldiers being forced to go to war and being dogged by fear . The author writes how one man who could not face the German guns was shot by an English bullet in his heart for desertion. He was shot in a place apart , showing that he was absolutely alone and could be interpreted that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. The Sixteenth Amendment Of The United States Constitution The Sixteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution gives the United States government the right to tax income. This amendment guarantees that our nation will have an army, our government will build our roads, enforce our laws and carry through with other important duties, all through federal taxation. The Sixteenth Amendment is still doing its job today as all people are required to pay the government a portion of their income. Most of the government s money comes from the taxes of the people. Without these taxes the government would be unable to function and our system that runs our country would be very different. We also wouldn t have plans like Social Security or Medicare if paying income tax was not in place. Although taxes play a good part for our nation, there is another hand that can come in and play a bad part depending on what party is running our country. Taxation can be made so that everyone has to pay the same amount regardless of your income. This effects the lower income classes the most and the higher income classes the least as they have the money to pay it. It depends on who you ask and what their specific viewpoint is on taxation. It is a good that our country put this law in place for the sake of our government, we all just hope that the person running our government doesn t make it out of control. The Supreme Court case of Pollock v. Farmer s Loan and Trust Company directly applies to the Sixteenth Amendment. This Court case dealt with income ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
