Argumentative Essay On Animal Testing
Writing an essay on the topic of animal testing can be both challenging and thought-provoking.
The subject is highly sensitive and involves ethical considerations that require careful analysis
and a balanced presentation of arguments. On one hand, there are those who argue that animal
testing is necessary for scientific and medical advancements, while on the other hand, there are
strong ethical concerns regarding the treatment of animals in research.
Researching for such an essay requires delving into a plethora of scientific studies, ethical
discussions, and legislative frameworks. It demands a deep understanding of the diverse
perspectives on the issue and the ability to critically evaluate the reliability of different sources.
As the topic involves emotions and moral values, it can be tricky to maintain objectivity and
present a well-rounded view.
Crafting a compelling argumentative essay on animal testing involves constructing a clear thesis
statement, supporting it with relevant evidence, and addressing counterarguments effectively.
Moreover, striking the right balance between emotional appeal and logical reasoning is crucial to
engage the reader. The language used should be precise and respectful, avoiding unnecessary
sensationalism.
In conclusion, writing an essay on animal testing is a challenging task that requires thorough
research, critical thinking, and a nuanced approach to the ethical considerations surrounding the
topic. It demands a careful balance between presenting scientific evidence and acknowledging
the moral concerns associated with the use of animals in research.

Aj Messiaen Essay
Olivier Messiaen was an influential French composer and teacher known for his
religious and mystic themes. Messiaen was born in and lived in France. His father
was an English Literature teacher and his mother, CГ©cile Sauvage, was a poet.
When he was seven he taught himself how to play piano. Later at age eleven he
joined the Paris Conservatory. His teachers were Jean Gallon and Paul Dukas. When
he got older he began studying Eastern rhythm and birdsong. He also became an
organist at the Church of the Sainte TrinitГ©. Messiaen s Turangalila Symphonie
was written from 1946 through 1948. One of his first students at the Conservatoire,
Yvonne Loriod, was some of his inspiration for Turangalila Symphonie. Turangalila

Positive Feedbacks In Early Childhood Education
Ms. Tameka is my teacher at St. Mary s, she teaches three and four years old. She
was an undergraduate student at Ramapo college for two years, then went to
William Paterson University for her four years. During her stay at Ramapo in the
year of 2003 where she soon realized that teaching was the right job. Her mind was
fixed on becoming an educator with her master degree. On her last year at William
Paterson Ms. Tameka graduated with her teaching certificate in 2007. After she
graduated from the university, she applied for a job at St. Mary s preschool. There
she gained many experiences when working with young children in the classroom.

She doesn t believe in materialistic incentives so instead she uses feedbacks.
Students are to do what is required of them. This shows that she uses a more
traditional view of this piece. In my classroom when offering positive feedbacks
encourages children to do what is expected of them on their level. Now, do I
strongly agree with that? No, I believe a child should be offer incentives to motivate
them to excel. A sticker is to encourage. At the beginning of my journey on a
preschool, Ms. Tameka has spoken with about what teaching is all about. She
mentioned that it must be something you love. A day in the life of a teacher can vary
depending on the subject and grade level in which they teach.
From Kindergarten to high school and special education to statistics, one theme runs
throughout every great teacher s career: their job does not end with the school day.
Ms. Tameka mentioned that a great teacher may also attend relevant conferences,
network with other teachers and engage in continuing education to stay at the
forefront of their specialty. Great teachers motivate, inspire and lead. They interact
with their community to effect positive change through their students and
themselves. Teachers change lives. Teachers do it
Discussing The Conflict Between The Bush Administration...
Presidential Signing Statements When the President is presented with a bill to sign
into law he has two choices under the Constitution. He can veto the law under Article
I Section VII or faithfully execute the law under Article II Section III. Many political
pundits believe that signing statements are illegal because they go against the
presidential oath office. While others believe signing statements give the president
more power, which goes against the system of checks and balances. Some members
of Congress say that signing statements defeats the purpose of the law. In this paper I
will discuss what signing statements are and what role they play in the different
presidential administrations. I will then discuss the conflict between the Bush
administration and Congress over signing statements. A presidential signing
statements is a written comment issued by a President at the time of signing
legislation (Woolley). When signing a bill to law, the President can write a comment
about how he plans to authorize the bill. Many presidential sign statements are
expressing the President s opinion about the legislation. There are many types of
signing statements that are controversial, because they can dictate which portions of
a bill the president would not execute because it might infringe on the executive
powers granted in the Constitution (Moyers). Before President Reagan, the
Presidency had only ever issued 75 signing statements (Moyers). Presidential signing

Customer Based Brand Equity Model (CBBE)
The CBBE model approaches brand equity from the perspective of the customer
whether customer is an individual or an organization. The CBBE model provides a
unique point of view as to what brand equity is and how it should best be built,
measured and managed. The power of a brand lies in what customers have learned,
felt, seen and heard about the brand as a result of their experiences over time. The
big challenge for marketers is to ensure that customers have the right type of

The Life Of John F. Kennedy Essay
The Life of John F. Kennedy
John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917, the
second of nine children. He was a US statesman and our 35th president. He came
from a family with a history of good politics. As an infant he lived in a comfortable
but modest frame house in that suburb of Boston. As the family got larger and the
father s income and fortune increased, the Kennedys moved to larger, more
impressive homes. Their first home was in Brookline, followed by the suburbs of
New York City. John F. Kennedyhad a happy childhood that was full of family
games and sports. He attended many different private elementary schools, which
were all non parochial. He later spent a year at Canterbury School in New Milford, ...

During that summer he took many different back strengthening exercises, and in
September he was accepted by the Navy. In March 1943, as a lieutenant he took
command of a PT (torpedo) boat in the Solomon Islands. On the night of August 2,
his boat was cruising west of New Georgia it was rammed and sunk by a Japanese
destroyer. He rallied the survivors and managed to get them to an island after being
thrown across the deck onto his back. He then towed a wounded man three miles
through a rough journey through different seas. He was a very brave man, for
several days he risked his life repeatedly, swimming into dangerous waters hoping
to find a rescue ship. He finally met up with two friendly islanders and sent them
for aid with a message that he carved on a coconut. Back home he received the
Navy and Marine Corps Medal, and the Purple Heart, but his earlier back injury had
been aggravated, and unfortunately he contracted malaria. After an operation on his
back, he was discharged early in 1945.
Now he is faced with a decision to make a different career path. In 1945 Kennedy
worked for several months as a reporter for the Hearst newspapers, covering the
conference at San Francisco that established the United Nations. Ultimately he
decided that he wanted a political career and returned to Boston. He took the place

Liberalism In The Movie Pleasantville
This movie is about David and Jennifer, who live in Southern America in the 90s
which was said to be a liberal state, are sent from reality to a TV show Pleasantville
in 1950s. From reality looking through this TV show, Pleasantville looks like an
ideal place for people to live in, but getting a closer look and being part of this
world you actually realize that it is very different from what is shown on TV. After
David and Jennifer arriving to Pleasantville, they become colorless, everything there
is either black, white or gray. People then expose their conservative lifestyles with
suppression of sexuality, discrimination and restrictive of personal liberty and
imagination. In Pleasantville, people assume that there is no outside world other...

Liberalism means to grow, change and improve. during the movie, we can see that
women and men have different rights, men spend their time outside with their
friends while women are just meant to be at home doing housework; Also, men
are aware that females are fighting for more freedom which they think it isn t what
women should do. In this movie, citizens in Pleasantville are conservatives, they
promote the traditional way of lifestyles, believing that everything should remain
the same, and following the policies which have been done before. They find
comfort in tradition, especially when they thought they had everything they could
ever ask for with no doubt; enjoyed lives as it was and not seeking out unnecessary
challenges. For my own opinion, I suggest that this set of mind should be renewed
we live in an ever changing society and conservatives should accept the fact that
things are never going to stay the same. Individual equality, human rights and
fairness are what we are fighting for nowadays. Liberalism expects citizens to be
attached to equality, to be tolerant of their own beliefs, to have a long lasting
pursuit of justice, to have a genuine care for the weak, and to live an independent
and individualized life. In everyday life, being liberals is never easier than
conservatives or radicals. Liberalism is inclusive, and at the bottom of diversity, it is
respect for the individual and the persistence of freedom and equality. These insist
constitute the common beliefs of citizens and become the solid foundation of

Character Analysis Of Dee s Everyday Use
As one of the vital characters in Everyday Use, Dee characterizes what every
young adult finding themselves can relate to. She is very comfortable in her skin
as the story unfolds and is one that many cling to. Although very popular with
others she does not exhibit this same quality with her family. Soon after graduating
his school she leaves her family to find herself. She soon return different in many
ways starting with her new name. Soon we find that despite her many changes in
life she still had a place in her that so desperately longs for the things of her past. In
general in Everyday Use, as a new found woman Dee is focused on growing into a
new person, but still longs to connect with her heritage. Dee can be initially viewed as
a complex character throughout the short storyas she evolves to separate herself from
but soon returns looking to claim the things of the past she so desperately sought
to separate from. The character Dee can be defined as self centered. She displays
this initially during the burning of the first house. While her sister is trapped in
the house by fire and being rescued by her mother Dee stands far away merely
looking on. This speaks volumes to her lack of concern for others. Where the
average person in the same position may attempt to lend help or offer some sort of
assistance she clearly is only concerned about her own safe. This sets a clear tone
of the relationship between Dee and the other main characters in the story.
Similarly to a younger version of Dee when she returns home she has no regard for
others. When Dee returns home she immediately comes in and begins claiming
things that belong to other family members without concern for them or their
wanting of those items. This is most significantly noted in the mention of the quilt
that actually had been promised to Maggie. Despite already having been promised
to Maggie, Dee claims the quilt as her own then gives reason, which she somehow
feels are valid, as a way of staking claim of the quilt. ` Although Mama stood up for
Maggie during the attempted claiming of the quilt when Mama describes Dee we
can see that she almost excuses Dee for being the way she is. This notion is made
apparent as Mama starts by describing

world especially in America. Terrorism, If they are forced to become suicidal, if
they get anything in return of killing themselves to kill others, or if maybe if it is a
religious thing. Suicide bombers are people who attack other innocent people with
the intention to cause great damage while taking their own life in the process.
These type of attacks are mostly related with religious beliefs and involvement

region. The effects of suicide terrorism affects our country on a daily basis and
puts many innocent american citizens in a possible danger of one day being a
victim to these violents acts of crime. As you can tell from past events in our
nation s history such as the bombing of the twin towers and world trade center in
new york city on September 11, 2001 these groups of terrorists have caused great
damage to not only the united states but many other countries as well in their search
for power and growth. Many other major known events have happened all over the
world which has attracted the attention of major political leaders. SInce the cost of
putting together a bomb together and attaching it to a human being is so cheap this
strategy has been effective throughout the past years from various terrorist groups to
lead their warpaths. The united states as well as many allied countries from europe

Implementing Bar Code Technology in a New Electronic Health Record System
The United States based Institute of Medicine (IOM) reported in 1999 that at least
44,000 people, and perhaps as many as 98,000 people, die in hospitals each year as a
result of medical errors that could have been prevented... (Anonymous, 2015). When
faced with more than a singular sentinel event related to medication administration
errors, the organization must begin to look into why this happened and what can be
done to prevent any more errors from occurring. Implementing new bar code
technology into a new electronic health record (EHR) system can dramatically
reduce the number of errors made by healthcare providers. In order to implement a
new system; several steps must occur. An informatics nurse plays a vital role in not
only the design of new program interfaces, but in developing educational programs
for the new systems. Not all studies have shown that implementing a new bar coding
system can be beneficial to healthcare providers, though.
Assessment and Framework Assessing the situation is the first step in implementing a
new system. Knowing where the errors have occurred is a must in knowing what
needs improved. In this instance, there have been two sentinel events surrounding the
usage of the current electronic health record (EHR) and medication administration.

Harvoni Medicine: An Advanced Way To Treat Hepatitis C Virus
A few years ago, Hepatitis C was a scary term for many of us. But, today the
medical problem is curable as there are various and advanced ways available. The
improvement in the treatment is especially notable because experts have worked
harder to obtain this success. Still, there are some significant changes are left and
hopefully they will be completed soon. Presently, the HCV treatments get rid of the
virus in merely slightly more than half of all sufferers. The medicines also have
unnecessary side effects that make it complicated or not possible for some patients to
get them. HCV medication online available, but it is not worthy to take them without

The approved medicine is a combination of two medicines called Harvoni. The
combination holds antiviral medicines Sofosbuvir and Ledipasvir. The effective
combination takes around 8 24 weeks to heal the pain of HCV. Patients taking this
new combination work as much as lower risk of dangerous side effects related to the
typical treatment for hepatitis C virus. HCV medication online is available with this
useful combination. Regrettably, the cost of these medicines is higher than normal
medications. The higher cost of the medication simply means that some patients who
require it might not be appropriate for it, but it has been called as a most important
breakthrough in the treatment of hepatitis C.
How this combination works?
Hepatitis c medicine online cost is as similar as normal stores. As we know that, the
Harvoni medicine has two anti viral medicines to target the different levels of
Hepatitis C virus. Sofosbuvir is known as a nucleotide analogue HCV polymerase
inhibitor, it means it chunk the polymerase enzyme. This enzyme is required to
reproduce. While, Ledipasvir is recognized as an HCV NS5A duplication
multifaceted inhibitor that obstructs with an additional protein HCV uses to imitate.

The Definition of Liberty
In New York there is a 250 ton green statue dressed in a robe, holding a torch and
tablet with broken chains at the feet. In 1886, the statue was given to the United
States as a gift to symbolize liberty. The statue is the Statue of Liberty. She is
dressed in a robe to symbolize the Roman goddess of freedom, Libertas. She holds a
torch and a tablet to symbolize evoking the law. Many individuals visit the Statue of
Liberty, hoping to understand what liberty means. Liberty has many interpretations
and it is not confined to one meaning. To truly understand the meaning of liberty, an
individual must understand the different types of liberties that are available to
Americans. Visiting the Statue of Liberty will not fully define the concept of what
liberty truly means; an individual must understand the definition, the characteristics,
the types, and what liberty is not. First, an individual needs to understand the
definition of liberty. Liberty is derived from the Latin word Liber, which means
free. Liberty means an individual is able to to live in a society that is free of
oppressive restrictions on how to live ones life, behave, or ones political views. An
individual commonly expresses liberty as: freedom, independence, autonomy,
emancipation, and liberation. Next an individual must understand the characteristics
of liberty. There are two characteristics of liberty, negative liberties and positive
liberties. Negative liberties are liberties that do not have possess
Science Contradicts Of The Bible
Those who believe that science contradicts the Bible, know little about either topics.
The Bible is a well written account of scientific and historical literature, written over
a period of thousands of years by many different authors inspired by the Holy Spirit
(God s Force on Earth). As a Christian I truly believe the bibleis the living and true
word of God. Scientific proof actually lines up quite well with biblical accounts.
However, to understand the evidence that will be provided, the reader must keep
an open mind and forget what the world want you to believe is correct. Contrary to
popular belief, those who blindly accept scientific theories are as much following a
religion as someone who believes in a Creator God. This is very important... Show

We can clarify the separation of the first and second earth ages in the first two lines
of the bible. Genesis 1:1 2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth. 2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The key phrase in
Genesis 1:2 is the earth WAS without form. The Hebrew word for was is Strong s
number 1961 haw yaw which translates to: become, to become, to pass away. The
words without form is Strong s 8414 and means tohuw: meaning to lie waste; a
desolation. The word for void is Strong s 922 which means to be empty and
undistinguishable ruin. So if we topically read this phrase it reads as, God created
a world that was without form and void, but when we revert back to the Hebrew
translation of was, it reads as such: the earth became a desolation of
undistinguishable ruin . We can cross reference scriptures here in Isaiah 45:18 For
thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, who is God, Who formed the earth
and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to
be inhabited: I am the LORD, and there is no other . Here Isaiah states the when God
created the earth it was perfect, not a formless
The Problems Facing The United States
We are caught in a time of our nation s history when misfortunes, mismanagement,
corruption, and leftwing ideology come together in a powerful concurrence of
circumstances that leave our once dynamic nation at risk for disaster.
Americans are a people dependent upon a meddling, incompetent government with its
foot on the necks of its citizens. As incredible as it seems, our representatives
allowed dictators and corrupt regimes around the world to control nearly everything
we need for survival. Moreover, this administration is weak and incapacitated on the
world stage, making us dependent upon the very people who wish to annihilate us.

There was a time when America rightfully boasted the greatest and most envied
industrial complex and manufacturing base in the history of mankind. However, that
was before politicians decided to over regulate, over tax, and enact never ending
destructive legislation motivating business and manufacturing to surrender and move
to foreign countries offering more welcoming laws.
Further, national politicians signed unwise trade agreements with countries that
placed the United States in a subservient position on trade. Mega international
corporation lobbyists became the driving force for trade policy, and national
security steadily suffered. Fair trade became a victim of an ill conceived national
policy and withered in the heat of backroom deals between money brokers and
politicians. The false narrative of free trade left our nation impotent in a world
offering depressed wages, fewer benefits, insignificant regulations, and lower taxes.
Obviously, good paying jobs with benefits vanished as we became less competitive.
International trade is an absolute necessity to a healthy U. S. economy. Unfortunately,
big time money speaks louder and more forcefully than common sense and fair
economic practice. Democrats and Republicans joined at the wallet with special
interests, tragically left our national security rusting away in hundreds of silent,
inactive, and

In 1881 1964, Jim Crow laws separated Americans by race in 26 states. The most
common type of segregation was De Jure segregation which was the legal

of segregation was much harder to fight than De Jure Segregation because
eliminating it would require changing people s attitudes rather than repealing the

Gender Differences in TV
Malcolm in the Middle Television holds an important part in most of our lives.
From a young age, we spend countless hours sitting in front of a television set. Every
year there are new shows created, and our favorite shows are renewed for another
season. There are numerous programs to choose from. Televisionbroadcasts are free,
and there are also paid options for more diverse programming. We are fortunate
enough to be able to spend on average a third of our leisure time watching television
all from the comfort of our homes. Given the incredible reach that television has on
our lives, we can say that television has a significant impact on our lives. Authors,
Renzetti and Curran, claim that television is a profound socializing... Show more

As previously mentioned, Renzetti and Curran, make several claims about the kind
of gendered messages that we as a society receive via our favorite television shows.
I selected three other claims to see whether or not they held true for Malcolm in the
Middle. The first claim is that female characters are more likely than men to use sex
or romantic charm to get what they want. Men, in contrast, are more likely than
women to use physical force. I recorded each instance of use or threat of physical
force and whether it was a man or woman who did so. Each instance of sex or
romantic charm was also recorded according to which sex used that technique.
Another claim was only 28% of women are shown on the job compared to 41% of
male characters. I kept a tally of characters that were shown on the job or made any
reference to their jobs. The last claim I chose to analyze was that men on television
are rarely shown doing housework (one to three percent compared to twenty to
twenty seven percent of women). I kept a tally of each instance that a household
chore was done and whether it was a man or woman who took care of the task. The
first claim that I analyzed was that women are more likely to use charm and men are
more likely to use physical force held true according to my sample. There were three
instances of using charm. Hal, the father, did so once. Lois, the mother, did so the
other two times. The second
Sammy as a Representation of a Misunderstood Generation
in...
John Updike presents us in his story A P, through Sammy s actions, the protest of
young and misunderstood generation which he sees in his story, as rebellious and
visionless by older generation for which all that does not obey to society s
standards is unusual, unaccepted, and accentuated by the fineness of details and
nuances, a deep insight intuition of choosing revealing moments of 1960 s, in
which sexuality was taboo. With this Updike is announcing a big change in the
culture, and of the times that he noticed it as such, expressing better through his
writing, and presenting Sammy his protagonist which wants to be noticed along
with signs of anxiety and insecurities, but follows his instincts which are recorded
in a universe where his actions are completely different from what other aspects,
bringing into focus the originality of character. In A P we can see through John
Updike s description each feeling Sammy, a 19 year old, has which is working in a
market store. He lives in a small town, having a quiet life and a future that was not
offering many opportunities, but along with the arrival in store of the young barefoot
girls which were wearing only bathing swims, he starts having all the mix feelings.
The sexuality that promoted by the young girls outfit was not welcome in the setting
of A P, and against the policy store, even though the girls were focused only of what
they come to buy, without any purpose of attracting other people s attention. The girls
Summary Of Prayer At Valley Forge
The painting by Arnold Friberg Prayer at Valley Forge, shows George Washington
praying for his troops during the harsh winter but does not fully allow the viewer to
understand the conditions of soldiers during their stay at Valley Forge. Valley Forge
is one of the most famous times during the American Revolution even though it was
not a battle. At this point in the war the Americans were losing the Revolution and
many soldiers were sick and dying while the others were deserting. If I would have
been at Valley ForgeI would have deserted, and I think given these conditions many
people would choose desertion over re enlistment. Desertion will be high in the
military if three conditions are met: lack of adequate shelter, lack of a proper
supplies and lack of belief in the cause. Adequate shelter for soldiers will increase
the willingness to stay in the army and not desert. Living in Valley Forge during
the winter of 1778 meant living in huts. These huts were a rudimentary log cabin
with a stick and clay fireplace, no windows and held 12 men (BACKGROUND
ESSAY). Besides being cold the lack of windows caused the huts to become filled
with smoke. So now the soldiers had to decide if they were going to keep a fire going
with the door closed causing them to choke on the smoke, not have a fire inside,
or to open the door and let the cold in. None of these choices were great. In the diary
of Dr. Waldo he described the soldiers housing as hard lodging and that he was smoak

Formal Vs Informal Onboarding
The formal and informal onboarding program both send a distinct message to the
new hire so it is important to understand the advantages and disadvantages of both.
First, informal plans are unstructured and without an explicit plan. An advantage of
the informal plan is your company will be able to see right away if the new
employee can adjust and learn quickly on their own. It is a sink or swim tactic that
puts pressure on the employee to learn quickly without devoting any money or
resources to training the new hire. Disadvantages of this approach is that the
onboarding is very loose without any support or direction. It does not consider their
needs and the process can vary for every new hire because there is not a system that
has the steps... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If I was Trevor, I would write down what I need Trevor to improve on and set up a
meeting to understand why his performance has decreased so significantly. In the
meeting, I would first introduce myself and get to know Mark better on a personal
level. Next, I would tell him that I have heard great things about what he has done
for the company and that I am very glad to be able to work with him. I would then
explain how I understand that he is disappointed that his older manager left that
was very close to him and his employees. Last, I would explain to him that the
success of the company is key to everyone and that his performance needs to
improve and if he needs anything from me to let me know. To conclude, I would
set up a date soon to get lunch with him personally so a relationship starts to
develop between us. This is key because it seems that Mark works best when he
has a good relationship with his manager. If Mark s performance doesn t start to
improve, we must start looking deeper into the situation and possibly find a
replacement for the position. The GROW coaching model is a way to help
improve and coach skills that people have identified as necessary to their success.
First, it is key to perform a SWOT analysis on yourself and then create an action plan
on where you want to get by setting goals for yourself. Once you pick a skill you
The Success Of Apple Inc.
In the last decade, Apple Inc. has become one of the utmost successful and
wealthiest companies in the world. With the aid of other companies in the field of
technology, Apple has achieved strides in the area of innovation that is nearly
unparalleled in this modern age. How has the success of this once computer
company turned into a multinational technology company, effected its workers,
customers, and the social economy that we live in? Slowly, Apple Inc. has become
one of the largest companies in the world with their products being used everyday
by millions of people and a major impact in the social economy and quality pay and
benefits for their employees, however, with below average treatment in particular
cases. Apple generally puts on a clean and sleek face to the public. Since the basis
of apple is technology, they tend to exploit that aspect to their advantage, making
customers feel completely immersed when walking into one of their stores with the
sleek interfaces and Genius Bars . The placement of these stores should come to no
surprise as the location of the stores exist in the substantial cities where maximum
foot traffic occurs. Presently, Apple stores are in forty five of the fifty US states and
in more than seventeen different countries/regions including Australia, Hong Kong,
and Paris ( Apple Retail Store Store List. ). However, consumers are not completely
limited to buying Apple s products in their stores, Apple has all their products
available online.
Weaknesses Of The Articles Of Confederation
The Revolutionary War victory that was won by the American colonies came as a
shock to both Americans and the rest of the world. This near impossible win sparked
inspiration in many countries, including the French who fired up their own bloody
revolution less than ten years later. However, many precarious steps were taken by
the Americans in order to get as far as they did. Published after the Declaration of
Independence and in order to convince France that a government was in the making, a
constitution was appointed by the Second Continental Congress to be written by a
committee. The Articles of Confederationwere finished in 1777 and lastly ratified by
Maryland in 1781. Though the document was needed at the time in order to help
govern the budding nation, the Articles had many flaws that needed new finishing.
Overall, the Articles of Confederation were terribly ineffective at solving any of the
problems, such as debt, that confronted the new United Statesof America after the
Revolutionary War. Because of the lack of congressional authority and the
overwhelming power of the states granted within the document, the Articles of
Confederation highlighted a loose friendship of states as opposed to a tight knit
union. One of the main problems within the Articles of Confederation was the fact
that it purposefully established a weak central government. This was done for the sole
reasoning that it was a belief among the common people that a strong national
government would abuse
The Eiffel Tower, Architecture, And Scenic View
Nearly seven million people visit the Eiffel Tower a year and I was lucky enough to
be one of them. The Eiffel Tower has many things to offer including an abundant
amount of history, two restaurants and a beautiful scenic view. I am going to evaluate
the history , the two different restaurants, and the scenic view. There is a vast amount
of history behind the Eiffel Tower. Here are a few things I thought were interesting.
The Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave Eiffel. It was built for the 1889 exposition
universal to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the french revolution. The
construction of the Eiffel Tower took 2 years, 2 months and 5 days. When it was
constructed, it was the defining moment of the industrial era. The Eiffel Tower was
only intended to last 20 years, but it has lasted 126 years! According to the world,
the Eiffel Tower is Frances symbol. When you see the Eiffel Tower, most people think
Parisor France. The Eiffel Tower stands 1062 feet tall and has 3 floors. It has 7
million visitors annually and 75 percent of them are foreigners. It also has 20,000
light bulbs to light it up. The lighting started in 1985 and at night it lights for 5
minutes every hour, on the hour. On the top of the Eiffel Tower, are 120 antennas,
at one point in time it was used by the military to send messages around Paris. You
can tour the Eiffel Tower from 9:30 in the morning to 11 at night. An elevator or lift
ticket to the second floor costs 9.58 for anyone 12 to 24 years old

The Giver s Flowers For Algernon
A central theme in Flowers For Algernon is that you don t have to change who you
are to fit in with others. You can be yourself and still fit in with the crowd. In the
text, Charlie wrote Maybe if I ask him he will tell me how I can think now that Im
suppose to get smart. What do smart people think about. Fancy things I suppose. I
wish I knew some fancy things alredy (Keyes 225 226). From the text, I can infer
that he wishes he was intelligent already so that he could think about fancy things,
such as smart people do. Also, in the text Charlie stated I said I asked pepul and
sumbody told me where I shud go to lern to read and spell good. They said why did
you want to. I told them becaus all my life I wantid to be smart and not dumb (pg....

All you need is bravery and determination. The theme from The Giver and the the
theme from Flowers for Algernon can have an impact on anyone s life but mostly
teens. For kids and teens all around the world, fitting in is one of the hardest things
to do. People think that they need to change themselves to fit in. Girls think they
need to wear makeup to look pretty. Guys think they need to be masculine.
Everyone around the world is pressured by society to be someone they re not. Lots
of people say that society has killed the teenager . To me that quote means that
society gives us these certain images that we are supposed to strive for. For
example, skinny, tall, perfect teeth, no acne, etc. As teens we are at the age of
wanting to fit in and be better but society is ruining how we view ourselves and the
ways we think. Also another thing is to just be yourself. If you be yourself, the
right people will come to you. For example, let s say someone starts to wear
makeup because her friends are wearing it, or someone said that she was ugly
without it. She ll start to become a person she doesn t want to be. She ll start to
become influenced by her friends and the people around her. Then she ll stop
wearing it one day and then she ll continue to stop wearing it for a while. She might
get hatred, compliments on her natural beauty, or her friends won t even care. See
what she did? She stopped pretending to be a character in a movie, and started
being herself. All she needed was bravery and determination. As you can see, the
themes in Flowers For Algernon and in The Giver relate to the real life we are facing
today. If personally myself could say something to kids and teens, I would say to just
be yourself and don t change who you are. The right people will come to you if you
are brave and
The Natural And Human Science
The word value is defined as the amount of the importance, worth, or usefulness of
something. Typically values for every individual differs which is why value in this
sense leads to the unwanted study of behaviorism in political science research. It
does also lead to interpretation. The difference between behavioral and interpretive
studies is that behavioral study of politics would be to make an assumption and
predict causes of certain phenomena s. Interpretative takes one s values and uses that
to find a solution without so much jumping to a conclusion. Kuhn, Gunnell, Taylor,
and Webber analyze the meanings of value and interpretation and how it affects
social/ political science research and societies at large.
Kuhn s The Natural and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He claimed that there was no essential difference between theories and facts and that
scientific theories, and the concepts they embodied, were fundamental claims about
what existed and the manner of its existence. (The real revolution in political science,
47). This quote supports the idea that theories in political science are not
constructions of the kind Kuhn Posited. They are not basic reality claims that could
ultimately be judged untrue in the manner... (48) Unlike natural science, there is no
need for a 3rd party and we come up with the concepts. On the other hand he argues
that social sciences do not constitute to reality. There is already something out there
that exists so in other words, it s not primary. If social science were to disappear,
culture would still exist. Social science he argues is based on perspective whereas
natural science will exist regardless. The natural science never changes only the
concepts that are part of the particular topic in natural science change as time
progresses. For example, elements on the periodic table have always had the same
foundation. The way we made understanding of them over time is what changed.
Frankly, when it comes to social science, it is fundamentally interpretive. There s
already an idea that requires interpretation and doesn t define what s actually going
on. There is more of a variety and on going study since interpretation is ever lasting
and always changing and developing.

that will never be forgotten. Heart is a very successful band lead by two sisters,
Ann and Nancy Wilson. They showed the world women can rock by fronting a band,
the hole band grew up in the same area, they had many struggles, and they are known
for several legendary songs.
Seattle, Washington is home to many of the bands musicsations. The Wilson sisters

Ann and Nancy came across problems everywhere they went because they were
females playing rock music. They did not think that if they were female they would

Heart did many great things like awards and being woman rockers. From 1976 1982
six of their most popular albums were Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen, Magazine,
Dog and Butterfly, Bebe le Strange Greatest Live Hits, and Private Audition. They

Judging Abercombie Fitch for Their Hiring Practices Essay
Looks and first impressions are key points for many things in our lifes. Now a days
people are deep into fashion and everything is about looking presentable and well.
This has made clothing companies compete even more day by day and do
everything in their power to attract more people. To bring more people to the
bussiness and sell as much as they can they have been using a method of
prioritizing and aiming to certain group of poeple to sell to. This has lead
companies such as Abercombie Fitch to be seen as a store with a high profile of
racismand discrimination. Aiming to a natural classic amarican style and to hiring
only certain type of people has caused them to be sued multiple times. Abercombie
Fitch is a private company and there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the constitution the company discriminates and excludes a group of
people but at the same time this is a private company and it should be their choice
who they hire or not. In my personal opinion Abercombie Fitch should not be
judged or sued. Companies across the world do exactly the same thing. I mean, I
live in Los Angeles where montly the population is mexican. Some mexicans like
dressing up with boots and big belts, they have a certain look which now people
call Paisa Look . When I go to the mall there are many paisa stores where the people
who work there obviously look mexican and dress up with the look they sell. When
I say mexican looking, I mean dark skined, mustache, the boots, the belts, the Ed
Hardy things, the hats and of course their music. This exact same thing happens in
Abercombie Fitch. The only difference is that caucasians are not the minority in this
country. I find very hypocritical the fact that people judge Abercombie, Hollister,
Express and other stores in that range for who they hire. This is a duble standard and
very unfair way of looking at things. In the article Going for the look, but risking
discrimination by Steven Greenhouse; Tom Lenox, Abercombie s communicatons
director said: Brand representatives are embassadors to the brand. We want to hire
brand representatives that will represent the abercombie Fitch
The Relationship Of Feminism And The Three Factors
The Relationship of Feminism and the Three Factors
In the past, women were possessions of men. Furthermore, women were compelled to
follow every single order from men unconditionally. However, in contrast to this
century, women today have more freedom as they go to work. How history, fashion,
and career women have greatly influenced feminism.
According to history, feminism is the chronological narrative of the movements and
ideologies aimed at equal rights for women. While feminists around the world have
different causes, and goals, depending on time, culture, and country, working to
obtain women s rights . (History of Feminism) It should be considered as feminist
movements. There were four important waves of feminism throughout history. These
four waves greatly influenced feminism, and each wave was an important turning
point in history. (History of Feminism) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, with early feminism , there were three important waves that were the
process how people try to make men and women equal. Many people tried to get
equality between men and women, women s suffrage, female education rights, better
working conditions. And these people sometimes hole the demonstration. This action
is called the first wave of feminism , and it occurred during 19th and 20th centuries.
The wave that occurred after the first wave of feminism is called the second wave of
feminism . This wave was different from the first wave of feminism . During this
wave, the people discussed about cultural inequalities, gender norms, and the role of
women in society (A History of Feminism). However, fruitlessly, women could not
get the equality between men, this wave is called the third wave of feminism .

Which Lobe Is The Most Important Part Of The Brain
Essay
The most important part of the brain involved in memory is the cerebral cortex. It
is located on the outermost layer of the brain and is responsible for thinking and
processing information from the five senses. It is made up of tightly packed neurons
and is the wrinkly like form that surrounds the brain. The cortex is divided into four
different lobes the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital, which are all for different
types of sensory information. As the name indicates, the frontal lobe is located on the
front of the brain. The frontal lobe is the part of the brain that controls important
everyday cognitive skills such as emotion, problem solving, memory, language,
judgement, and sexual behaviour. It has often been described as the control panel of
our personality and our ability to communicate. The parietal love is located on the
upper back part of the cortex and is involved in the sensory information that should do
with touch taste and temperature. This lobe can carry information within seconds,
with the information being integrated and processed. The temporal lobe is positioned
on the bottom part of the cortex, right behind the temples on your face. Its function is
to process auditory information from the ears. It is also key to being able to
comprehend or understand speech. One of the most... Show more content on

Essay On Intersectionality
The idea of intersectionality is that all of our identities overlap and are also
constantly affecting our privileges and oppressions. People do not always think
about their interactions despite them playing a pivotal role in our human experience.
This is what causes some writers to feel the need to put them into words so that
maybe more people will look at themselves and do some thinking about their own
intersections. Some of the authors that I believe have done this well are Patricia
Collins in her work titled Black Feminist Thought. Another work that discussed
intersectionality well is titled A Black Feminist Statement which is powerful in the
way it discusses how raceinteracts with womanhood. The final piece I feel as though
needs discussed is Women, Race, and Class which is a piece written by Angela Davis
that discusses the intersections that can be seen in... Show more content on

In the early women s right s campaign there was not much focus on the
intersectionality it was more based on the issues that white women were facing at the
time. This lead to many issue involved in the feminist movement, due to the lack of
intersectionality. As Davis points out this lead to the racist undertones throughout the
feminist movement one of the issues Davis mentions is when Fredrick Douglass, a
member of the feminist movement, sent his daughter away to a white school and she
was denied access by a woman claiming to be an abolitionist. These issues were
rampant in my opinion due to the lack of a more intersectional attitude. The first
feminist movement wasn t all bad as Davis points out. Many white women put their
lives on the line to fight for the rights of their African Americansisters. As Davis
explains a white woman refused to let he school be segregated, therefor fought for the
rights of young African Americans to receive the same education. As Davis states the

Defining Trust And The Measure Of Trust
Defining Trust (Paraphrased) (Source: Dissertation) Rousseau et al. (1998) and
Bhattacharya et al. (1998) have categorized definitions of trust by grouping them
into fields of psychology, sociology/socio psychology, organizational behavior and
marketing and shown that not many differences exist between them. Mayer et al.
(1995) defines trust as the willingness of a party to be vulnerable to the actions of
another party based on the expectation that the other will perform a particular
action important to the trustor, irrespective of the ability to monitor or control that
other party . Since it has been used and accepted by close to 700 authors, it is
considered the most suitable description for trust in this paper. Dimensions of
Trust and the Operationalization of the measure of trust (Paraphrased) (Source:
Dissertation) Some academics (Doney and Cannon 1997; Ganesan 1994; Gefen
and Silver 1999) refer to trust as a set of specific beliefs comprising of integrity,
benevolence, and ability while others see it as a general belief that another party
can be trusted, also referred to a trusting intentions Gefen 2000; Hosmer 1995;
Moorman et al. 1992; Zucker 1986). Others (Doney and Cannon 1997) have both
merged the general and specific belief into one construct as well as split them,
claiming specific beliefs as antecedents to the general belief (Jarvenpaa and
Tractinsky 1999; Mayer and Davis 1999; Mayer et al. 1995) or trusting intentions
(McKnight et al. 1998). (Source: TAM

The first language I first mastered was Spanish and then came English as I entered
primary school. My hometown is predominantly Hispanic, and in the area I live in
is mostly Mexican. When one drives around the cracked streets of East Salinas, one
can feel the strong presence of the Mexican culture. On one side, one can hear the
man in a cowboy hat blasting Banda music, and on the other, the bells from an ice
cream cart pushed around by a man making children jump with joy. I call this place
Little Mexico because it reminds tremendously of my mother s hometown. The

Bilingual education is necessary and beneficial for students learning English. There
are a lot of misconceptions about bilingual education being taught in schools. In
article Spanish/English Bilingual Children in the Southeastern USA: Convergence
and Code Switching , written by Daniel J. Smith, argues that Hispanic students placed
in bilingual classes interchange Spanish and English words commonly in sentences
whether it is verbal or written. He argues that code switching is common when
children interact with other Spanish speaking children. He states if English is
enforced, there would be less code switching and more convergence in the English
language. Smith believes that there would be less grammatical errors and the
students would be less confused. Although this seems like a good argument, Smith
never mentions in the article what the outcome will be if classrooms are switched to
English only. When an immigrant has been in the country for such a little time, of
course they are going to suffer from grammatical errors if they are barely starting to
learn English. Students need to be placed in a classroom where the English language
is introduced to them through their native tongue. Students can improve their English
skills by this way of learning. For instance, when a high school student is required to
take a language class like French, Spanish, or Japanese, English is still used to help
those start dominate the language. It takes time for
Investigation Rationality
The inconvenience in driving research today is expanded by the immeasurable

By and large, quantitative philosophies utilize the positivist worldview. The
quantitative procedures utilize excessively couple of variations and offers a mediocre
approach, hence contextual considering of subject is absent. Henceforth, they tend to
be less suited for sociology contrasted with objective learnings (Barr, 2004). The
quantitative system has been based in a positivist structure and dismisses the distinct
and aggregative predispositions of the philosophers and also the issues (Onwuegbuzie
and Leech, 2005). Then again, later times have seen an expanded enthusiasm for
qualitative study (Denzin and Lincoln, 1994). This developing enthusiasm for
subjective or assessment has been visible by the various brilliant researches which
have are been proposed utilizing qualitative techniques and in addition the expanding
number of extraordinary subjects on Qualitative examination in exceptionally
positioned system and broad administrative academic journals (Ridder and Hoon,
2009). In spite of the fact that qualitative techniques lecture a large number of the
above restrictions of quantitative system, reservations have been identified regarding
benchmarks, legitimacy, dependability and meticulousness in qualitative examination

The Weight of Paper in Wayson Choy’s Novel All That
Matters
Wayson Choy s novel All That Matters contains many memorable characters,
however one of the most important characters in the novel is not a person at all, but
rather paper. Choy s book highlights papers ubiquitous influence in the lives of the
Chen family and in a broader sense the entire Chinese Canadian diaspora. In a
critique of Choy s All That Mattersit is stated that paper constitutes false identities,
mediates movement across borders and enables alternative though complex, spaces
for diasporic mobility (Chercover 2) . Alena Chercover emphasizes, the autonomy of
paper and things, which attain a mobility that flesh, often cannot (15). However in

cost ending with limitations both financially and physically. The critic by Deborah
Madsen provides insight into the generation of the major themes in Choy s writing
and focuses on the idea of unhomliness as the major problem that limits diasporic
success. Chercover takes this analysis of unhomliness one step further concluding
that paper acts as the underlying mechanism behind this problem. This feeling of
belonging neither here nor there is are due to the falsified immigration document
which force a new identity on immigrants, creating a confusion of identify and thus
leads to the feeling of unbeloning. Both essays provide evidence on the restrictions
created by paper on Chinese immigrants freedom as well as highlight its benefits,
however I continue to argue that on paper is a negative force in limiting the
diasporic movement of Chinese Canadians and ultimately leads to the other themes
of resentment and not belonging. These feelings of unhomliness by new immigrants
are still felt today however are a result of other forces instead of paper. However
paper s irreplaceable role is heightened in today s society, both in its ability to
generate positive opportunities but also in the negative consequence of its

Feminism addresses and recognizes the struggles often underwent by women of the
past. Unfortunately, women s historical struggles and lived experiences in the
domestic sphere and private sectors of life have been erased from public awareness.
Their realities often went unnoticed as they were not considered as legitimate in
contrast to those experiences of their male counterparts. In response to this,
Gynocentric Feminists attempted to tackle these inequalities and have since then

In her work, Butler examines earlier forms of feminism and their frequent use of
social constructions of binary gender ideals. Butler maintains her argument that
feminists in particular should abandon this idea of sharing this universal common
gender identity (Seidman, 216). Butler is very critical of this perspective because she
finds that it undermines the experiences of all women and generalizes them into one
cohesive experience. In this sense, feminism is essentially reinforcing binary gender
ideals by feminists identifying themselves solely as women they are only
perpetuating social productions of gender that have been constructed through a male
dominated context. Although feminism is uniting women through this sense of
sharing a common identity that distinguishes them from their male counter part, it
also however, misinterprets and generalizes the experiences of women while
simultaneously excluding and discrediting other women. Evidently, according to
Butler s argument abiding by a unitary gender identity, rejects any other sexuality
and regards them as deviant and improper to the norm. (Seidman, 217). It is often
difficult to abandon such universal ideals especially because of how deeply and
successfully they have integrated into modern day society. This idea of perceiving
men and women as two distinctive and opposite types of
Mechanisms of Neuronal Repair Following Nerve Damage
Introduction
The normal function of the central and peripheral nervous systems depend highly on
the successful functionality of afferent and efferent neurons. Neurons are cells that
have the ability to transmit sensory and motor messages throughout the body. These
signals are promoted by electrically insulating myelin sheaths that surround the axons
of neurons. These sheaths are produced by Schwann cells and other glial cells. When
a neuron is damaged, a communicative circuit is compromised and essential
signals cannot be transmitted throughout the body. A major site of injury that puts
many essential neurons at risk is the spinal cord, which contains many neurons
essential for proper motor functionality. The spinal cord is made up of nervous
tissue within spinal vertebrae. The spinal cord receives sensory information from
the skin, muscles, joints, tissues, as well as other parts of the body, and then relays
information to and from the brain. Injury to the spinal cord can cause dislocation
of vertebrae, resulting in various paralyzing disabilities such as quadriplegia
(paralysis from the neck down) or paraplegia (paralysis of the lower body). The
severity of the disability depends on the location of the injury (Schwab et al. 2002).
There are two main phases of spinal cord injury. The first phase is physical tissue
destruction, which is followed by tissue loss caused by irregular blood supply to the
injury site. Because of this disrupted blood supply,
Hair And Beauty Is Relating To Cultural Identity
Your outer beauty will capture the eyes; your inner beauty will capture the heart.
Said by Steven Aitcheson. I believe that hair and beauty is related to cultural
identity. Many People can be handsome and beautiful in their own little way. Being
beautiful doesn t mean to be beautiful from the outside only, but it also means to be
beautiful from the inside. Your beauty is being who you are inside and out. In
addition, I see hair and someone s beauty as something that is beautiful, but
something that is symbolic for many reasons in society. Together racism and sexism
daily reinforce to all black females via the media, advertising, etc. that we will not be
considered beautiful or desirable...informs our efforts to construct self and identity.

We can definitely see the symbolism of hair through different cultures and
religions. In many cultures women cover their hair; however, it is much more
likely to see a woman covering her hair in Islam than other culture for religious
purposes. Many people think that in Islam women that cover their hair cover it
because they think their hair looks bad but in reality some don t know that women
in Islam cover their hair for a religious purpose. Not every woman in Islam covers
her hair. Every woman should be able to choose who she is, and how she wants to
be. Whether covering her hair or not. Some women feel uncomfortable with their
hair. Not surprisingly many black women responded that they felt uncomfortable if
too much attention was focused on their hair, if it seemed to be too messy... receive
negative comments. (Bell hooks p. 3) as the author states that when a black woman
has too much attention she s feels that they are looking at her hair so she will feel
uncomfortable. All women are beautiful in their own way whether her hair is
covered or not. Also if your hair looks nice or

Tagish Lake Research Paper
Most of us are familiar with the panspermia hypothesis that life can be seeded from
asteroid, comet, and planetoid contents but to date, no direct evidence has been
discovered. So, why should we consider meteorites to be possible parents? The truth
is out there somewhere and these space rocks contain the essentials, as far down as
to amino acids. Until now, what has been recovered has been regarded as structured.
However, the matter of Tagish Lake arose.
In January of 2000, a huge meteoroid exploded in our planet s atmosphere over
Northern British Columbia in Canada, which resulted in falling debris over Tagish
Lake, while frozen. This observed fall was rare, and the meteorites were harvested
meticulously, preserved in their frozen state, and documented. There are two reasons:

Nothing should be left to speculation.

Causes Of Birth Defects
Causes of Birth Defects
Every day a baby is born with a birth defect, and these defects range from minor
abnormalities that need no treatment, to severe defects that may need surgery, need
medication, or even cause disabilities. Caused by environmental influences or
inheritance, a birth defect is a biochemical or physical abnormality present at birth.
Around 4,000 birth defects have been discovered throughout the years and each year
1 out of 33 babies are born with a defect ( Gupta ). What mothers do while pregnant
can be a major factor that causes a birth defect. The most common causes of birth
defects include smoking, alcohol use, and recreational drug use while pregnant.
Smoking during pregnancy is one of the most common causes of birth defects in
babies. If a mother is smoking during her pregnancy the fetus is also experiencing the
effects smoking can cause. On average twenty percent of women smoke during their
pregnancies causing 1,000 baby deaths each year in the United States ( Smoking
During Pregnancy ). Smoking during pregnancy accounts for thirty percent of babies
born underweight, fourteen percent of premature labors, and ten percent of all infant
deaths ( Smoking During Pregnancy ). The placenta connects from the uterus to the
developing fetus, giving the baby the nutrients and oxygen it needs to grow. When a
mother inhales the poisonous gases from the cigarette, they travel into the mother s
blood stream and through the placenta into the fetus. While this

His father was an English Literature teacher and his mother, CГ©cile Sauvage, was a poet. When he was seven he taught himself how to play piano. Later at age eleven he joined the Paris Conservatory. His teachers were Jean Gallon and Paul Dukas. When he got older he began studying Eastern rhythm and birdsong. He also became an organist at the Church of the Sainte TrinitГ©. Messiaen s Turangalila Symphonie was written from 1946 through 1948. One of his first students at the Conservatoire, Yvonne Loriod, was some of his inspiration for Turangalila Symphonie. Joie du sang des Г©toiles: A cheerful piece replaces the fourth movement s quiet end, with a piano piece moves toward the statue theme as the movement ends. Jardin du sommeil d amour: There s another dramatic switch, the sixth movement returns to peacefulness/tranquility. Accompanied bird song from piano, the movement shows a love theme s full lyricism. Turangalila 2: The discordant, percussion filled seventh movement awakes horror. Messiaen, who had in mind an Edgar Allen Poe poem, shows the terror of Poe s poems through music and sound. DГ©veloppement de l amour: The movement s belated development of the recurring statue, flower, and love themes is as fractured as it is dense. Messiaen brings in a new fourth theme. Joy and threatening darkness are bound

Now, do I strongly agree with that? No, I believe a child should be offer incentives to motivate them to excel. A sticker is to encourage. At the beginning of my journey on a preschool, Ms. Tameka has spoken with about what teaching is all about. She mentioned that it must be something you love. A day in the life of a teacher can vary depending on the subject and grade level in which they teach. From Kindergarten to high school and special education to statistics, one theme runs throughout every great teacher s career: their job does not end with the school day. Ms. Tameka mentioned that a great teacher may also attend relevant conferences, network with other teachers and engage in continuing education to stay at the forefront of their specialty. Great teachers motivate, inspire and lead. They interact with their community to effect positive change through their students and themselves. Teachers change lives. Teachers do it

He can veto the law under Article I Section VII or faithfully execute the law under Article II Section III. Many political pundits believe that signing statements are illegal because they go against the presidential oath office. While others believe signing statements give the president more power, which goes against the system of checks and balances. Some members of Congress say that signing statements defeats the purpose of the law. In this paper I will discuss what signing statements are and what role they play in the different presidential administrations. Liberalism means to grow, change and improve. during the movie, we can see that women and men have different rights, men spend their time outside with their friends while women are just meant to be at home doing housework; Also, men are aware that females are fighting for more freedom which they think it isn t what women should do. In this movie, citizens in Pleasantville are conservatives, they promote the traditional way of lifestyles, believing that everything should remain the same, and following the policies which have been done before. They find comfort in tradition, especially when they thought they had everything they could ever ask for with no doubt; enjoyed lives as it was and not seeking out unnecessary challenges. For my own opinion, I suggest that this set of mind should be renewed we live in an ever changing society and conservatives should accept the fact that things are never going to stay the same. Individual equality, human rights and fairness are what we are fighting for nowadays. Liberalism expects citizens to be attached to equality, to be tolerant of their own beliefs, to have a long lasting pursuit of justice, to have a genuine care for the weak, and to live an independent and individualized life. In everyday life, being liberals is never easier than conservatives or radicals. Liberalism is inclusive, and at the bottom of diversity, it is respect for the individual and the persistence of freedom and equality. These insist constitute the common beliefs of citizens and become the solid foundation of harmonious
  • 10. Character Analysis Of Dee s Everyday Use As one of the vital characters in Everyday Use, Dee characterizes what every young adult finding themselves can relate to. She is very comfortable in her skin as the story unfolds and is one that many cling to. Although very popular with others she does not exhibit this same quality with her family. Soon after graduating his school she leaves her family to find herself. She soon return different in many ways starting with her new name. Soon we find that despite her many changes in life she still had a place in her that so desperately longs for the things of her past. In general in Everyday Use, as a new found woman Dee is focused on growing into a new person, but still longs to connect with her heritage. Dee can be initially viewed as a complex character throughout the short storyas she evolves to separate herself from but soon returns looking to claim the things of the past she so desperately sought to separate from. The character Dee can be defined as self centered. She displays this initially during the burning of the first house. While her sister is trapped in the house by fire and being rescued by her mother Dee stands far away merely looking on. This speaks volumes to her lack of concern for others. Where the average person in the same position may attempt to lend help or offer some sort of assistance she clearly is only concerned about her own safe. This sets a clear tone of the relationship between Dee and the other main characters in the story. Similarly to a younger version of Dee when she returns home she has no regard for others. When Dee returns home she immediately comes in and begins claiming things that belong to other family members without concern for them or their wanting of those items. This is most significantly noted in the mention of the quilt that actually had been promised to Maggie. Despite already having been promised to Maggie, Dee claims the quilt as her own then gives reason, which she somehow feels are valid, as a way of staking claim of the quilt. ` Although Mama stood up for Maggie during the attempted claiming of the quilt when Mama describes Dee we can see that she almost excuses Dee for being the way she is. This notion is made apparent as Mama starts by describing

(Anonymous, 2015). When faced with more than a singular sentinel event related to medication administration errors, the organization must begin to look into why this happened and what can be done to prevent any more errors from occurring. Implementing new bar code technology into a new electronic health record (EHR) system can dramatically reduce the number of errors made by healthcare providers. In order to implement a new system; several steps must occur. An informatics nurse plays a vital role in not only the design of new program interfaces, but in developing educational programs for the new systems. Not all studies have shown that implementing a new bar coding system can be beneficial to healthcare providers, though. Assessment and Framework Assessing the situation is the first step in implementing a new system. Knowing where the errors have occurred is a must in knowing what needs improved. In this instance, there have been two sentinel events surrounding the usage of the current electronic health record (EHR) and medication administration.

In 1886, the statue was given to the United States as a gift to symbolize liberty. The statue is the Statue of Liberty. She is dressed in a robe to symbolize the Roman goddess of freedom, Libertas. She holds a torch and a tablet to symbolize evoking the law. Many individuals visit the Statue of Liberty, hoping to understand what liberty means. Liberty has many interpretations and it is not confined to one meaning. To truly understand the meaning of liberty, an individual must understand the different types of liberties that are available to Americans. Visiting the Statue of Liberty will not fully define the concept of what liberty truly means; an individual must understand the definition, the characteristics, the types, and what liberty is not. First, an individual needs to understand the definition of liberty. Liberty is derived from the Latin word Liber, which means free. Liberty means an individual is able to to live in a society that is free of oppressive restrictions on how to live ones life, behave, or ones political views. An individual commonly expresses liberty as: freedom, independence, autonomy, emancipation, and liberation. Next an individual must understand the characteristics of liberty. There are two characteristics of liberty, negative liberties and positive liberties. Negative liberties are liberties that do not have possess

The Bible is a well written account of scientific and historical literature, written over a period of thousands of years by many different authors inspired by the Holy Spirit (God s Force on Earth). As a Christian I truly believe the bibleis the living and true word of God. Scientific proof actually lines up quite well with biblical accounts. However, to understand the evidence that will be provided, the reader must keep an open mind and forget what the world want you to believe is correct. Contrary to popular belief, those who blindly accept scientific theories are as much following a religion as someone who believes in a Creator God. This is very important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can clarify the separation of the first and second earth ages in the first two lines of the bible. Genesis 1:1 2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The key phrase in Genesis 1:2 is the earth WAS without form. The Hebrew word for was is Strong s number 1961 haw yaw which translates to: become, to become, to pass away. The words without form is Strong s 8414 and means tohuw: meaning to lie waste; a desolation. The word for void is Strong s 922 which means to be empty and undistinguishable ruin. So if we topically read this phrase it reads as, God created a world that was without form and void, but when we revert back to the Hebrew translation of was, it reads as such: the earth became a desolation of undistinguishable ruin . We can cross reference scriptures here in Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD, and there is no other . Here Isaiah states the when God created the earth it was perfect, not a formless

There was a time when America rightfully boasted the greatest and most envied industrial complex and manufacturing base in the history of mankind. However, that was before politicians decided to over regulate, over tax, and enact never ending destructive legislation motivating business and manufacturing to surrender and move to foreign countries offering more welcoming laws. Further, national politicians signed unwise trade agreements with countries that placed the United States in a subservient position on trade. Mega international corporation lobbyists became the driving force for trade policy, and national security steadily suffered. Fair trade became a victim of an ill conceived national policy and withered in the heat of backroom deals between money brokers and politicians. The false narrative of free trade left our nation impotent in a world offering depressed wages, fewer benefits, insignificant regulations, and lower taxes. Obviously, good paying jobs with benefits vanished as we became less competitive. International trade is an absolute necessity to a healthy U. S. economy. Unfortunately, big time money speaks louder and more forcefully than common sense and fair economic practice. Democrats and Republicans joined at the wallet with special interests, tragically left our national security rusting away in hundreds of silent, inactive, and

I recorded each instance of use or threat of physical force and whether it was a man or woman who did so. Each instance of sex or romantic charm was also recorded according to which sex used that technique. Another claim was only 28% of women are shown on the job compared to 41% of male characters. Summary Of Prayer At Valley Forge The painting by Arnold Friberg Prayer at Valley Forge, shows George Washington praying for his troops during the harsh winter but does not fully allow the viewer to understand the conditions of soldiers during their stay at Valley Forge. Valley Forge is one of the most famous times during the American Revolution even though it was not a battle. At this point in the war the Americans were losing the Revolution and many soldiers were sick and dying while the others were deserting. If I would have been at Valley ForgeI would have deserted, and I think given these conditions many people would choose desertion over re enlistment. Desertion will be high in the military if three conditions are met: lack of adequate shelter, lack of a proper supplies and lack of belief in the cause. Adequate shelter for soldiers will increase the willingness to stay in the army and not desert. Living in Valley Forge during the winter of 1778 meant living in huts. These huts were a rudimentary log cabin with a stick and clay fireplace, no windows and held 12 men (BACKGROUND ESSAY). Besides being cold the lack of windows caused the huts to become filled with smoke. So now the soldiers had to decide if they were going to keep a fire going with the door closed causing them to choke on the smoke, not have a fire inside, or to open the door and let the cold in. None of these choices were great. In the diary of Dr. Waldo he described the soldiers housing as hard lodging and that he was smoak d

This near impossible win sparked inspiration in many countries, including the French who fired up their own bloody revolution less than ten years later. However, many precarious steps were taken by the Americans in order to get as far as they did. Published after the Declaration of Independence and in order to convince France that a government was in the making, a constitution was appointed by the Second Continental Congress to be written by a committee. The Articles of Confederationwere finished in 1777 and lastly ratified by Maryland in 1781. Though the document was needed at the time in order to help govern the budding nation, the Articles had many flaws that needed new finishing. Overall, the Articles of Confederation were terribly ineffective at solving any of the problems, such as debt, that confronted the new United Statesof America after the Revolutionary War. Because of the lack of congressional authority and the overwhelming power of the states granted within the document, the Articles of Confederation highlighted a loose friendship of states as opposed to a tight knit union. One of the main problems within the Articles of Confederation was the fact that it purposefully established a weak central government. This was done for the sole reasoning that it was a belief among the common people that a strong national government would abuse

Lots of people say that society has killed the teenager . To me that quote means that society gives us these certain images that we are supposed to strive for. For example, skinny, tall, perfect teeth, no acne, etc. As teens we are at the age of wanting to fit in and be better but society is ruining how we view ourselves and the ways we think. Also another thing is to just be yourself. If you be yourself, the right people will come to you. Now a days people are deep into fashion and everything is about looking presentable and well. To bring more people to the bussiness and sell as much as they can they have been using a method of prioritizing and aiming to certain group of poeple to sell to. According to the constitution the company discriminates and excludes a group of people but at the same time this is a private company and it should be their choice who they hire or not. In my personal opinion Abercombie Fitch should not be judged or sued. Companies across the world do exactly the same thing. I mean, I live in Los Angeles where montly the population is mexican. Some mexicans like dressing up with boots and big belts, they have a certain look which now people call Paisa Look . When I go to the mall there are many paisa stores where the people who work there obviously look mexican and dress up with the look they sell. When I say mexican looking, I mean dark skined, mustache, the boots, the belts, the Ed Hardy things, the hats and of course their music. This exact same thing happens in Abercombie Fitch. The only difference is that caucasians are not the minority in this country. I find very hypocritical the fact that people judge Abercombie, Hollister, Express and other stores in that range for who they hire. This is a duble standard and very unfair way of looking at things. In the article Going for the look, but risking discrimination by Steven Greenhouse; Tom Lenox, Abercombie s communicatons director said: Brand representatives are embassadors to the brand. We want to hire brand representatives that will represent the abercombie Fitch

  • 36. Which Lobe Is The Most Important Part Of The Brain Essay The most important part of the brain involved in memory is the cerebral cortex. It is located on the outermost layer of the brain and is responsible for thinking and processing information from the five senses. It is made up of tightly packed neurons and is the wrinkly like form that surrounds the brain. The cortex is divided into four different lobes the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital, which are all for different types of sensory information. As the name indicates, the frontal lobe is located on the front of the brain. The frontal lobe is the part of the brain that controls important everyday cognitive skills such as emotion, problem solving, memory, language, judgement, and sexual behaviour. It has often been described as the control panel of our personality and our ability to communicate. The parietal love is located on the upper back part of the cortex and is involved in the sensory information that should do with touch taste and temperature. This lobe can carry information within seconds, with the information being integrated and processed. People do not always think about their interactions despite them playing a pivotal role in our human experience. This is what causes some writers to feel the need to put them into words so that maybe more people will look at themselves and do some thinking about their own intersections. Some of the authors that I believe have done this well are Patricia Collins in her work titled Black Feminist Thought. (1998) have categorized definitions of trust by grouping them into fields of psychology, sociology/socio psychology, organizational behavior and marketing and shown that not many differences exist between them. Mayer et al. Since it has been used and accepted by close to 700 authors, it is considered the most suitable description for trust in this paper. Bilingual education is necessary and beneficial for students learning English. There are a lot of misconceptions about bilingual education being taught in schools. In article Spanish/English Bilingual Children in the Southeastern USA: Convergence and Code Switching , written by Daniel J. He argues that code switching is common when children interact with other Spanish speaking children. He states if English is enforced, there would be less code switching and more convergence in the English language. Smith believes that there would be less grammatical errors and the students would be less confused. Although this seems like a good argument, Smith never mentions in the article what the outcome will be if classrooms are switched to English only. When an immigrant has been in the country for such a little time, of course they are going to suffer from grammatical errors if they are barely starting to learn English. Students need to be placed in a classroom where the English language is introduced to them through their native tongue. Students can improve their English skills by this way of learning. For instance, when a high school student is required to take a language class like French, Spanish, or Japanese, English is still used to help those start dominate the language. It takes time for

In her work, Butler examines earlier forms of feminism and their frequent use of social constructions of binary gender ideals. Butler maintains her argument that feminists in particular should abandon this idea of sharing this universal common gender identity (Seidman, 216). Butler is very critical of this perspective because she finds that it undermines the experiences of all women and generalizes them into one cohesive experience. In this sense, feminism is essentially reinforcing binary gender ideals by feminists identifying themselves solely as women they are only perpetuating social productions of gender that have been constructed through a male dominated context. Although feminism is uniting women through this sense of sharing a common identity that distinguishes them from their male counter part, it also however, misinterprets and generalizes the experiences of women while simultaneously excluding and discrediting other women. Evidently, according to Butler s argument abiding by a unitary gender identity, rejects any other sexuality and regards them as deviant and improper to the norm. (Seidman, 217). It is often difficult to abandon such universal ideals especially because of how deeply and successfully they have integrated into modern day society. Mechanisms of Neuronal Repair Following Nerve Damage Introduction The normal function of the central and peripheral nervous systems depend highly on the successful functionality of afferent and efferent neurons. Neurons are cells that have the ability to transmit sensory and motor messages throughout the body. These signals are promoted by electrically insulating myelin sheaths that surround the axons of neurons. These sheaths are produced by Schwann cells and other glial cells. When a neuron is damaged, a communicative circuit is compromised and essential signals cannot be transmitted throughout the body. A major site of injury that puts many essential neurons at risk is the spinal cord, which contains many neurons essential for proper motor functionality. The spinal cord is made up of nervous tissue within spinal vertebrae. The spinal cord receives sensory information from the skin, muscles, joints, tissues, as well as other parts of the body, and then relays information to and from the brain. Injury to the spinal cord can cause dislocation of vertebrae, resulting in various paralyzing disabilities such as quadriplegia (paralysis from the neck down) or paraplegia (paralysis of the lower body). The severity of the disability depends on the location of the injury (Schwab et al. 2002). There are two main phases of spinal cord injury. The first phase is physical tissue destruction, which is followed by tissue loss caused by irregular blood supply to the injury site. Because of this disrupted blood supply,
