The nLab at the University of Colorado provides a coworking space and mentoring resources for students to develop business ideas and campus sustainability projects. It is run by the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship in partnership with various CU departments and off-campus organizations. The goal is to build a strong entrepreneurial community for students at CU and in the surrounding Boulder area.

Seizing the Learning World Scaling Learning Design for Transformation

In this workshop we presented an inquiring experiential approach inspired by the Gamification Pyramid (Werbach & Hunter, 2012) which correlates with the three levels of the most common OECD PISA Frameworks. By promoting knowledge building, collective engagement and action with purpose, the activities presented during this session promote collaborative dynamics based on the structured development of inquiring mindsets for personal growth and professional development.

Education and learning is probably that single phenomenon that has the greatest impact on humans and societies, in particular in a long-term perspective (OECD 2014).
Grand challenge number one is to breach the trend preventing developing countries, in particular South of Everyone aspiring for higher education should have the right to affordable access. This is grand challenge number two. And it cannot be met without open education and technology enhanced learning.Sahara, taking part in the global knowledge revolution.
Three messages:
• Senior management in education needs to innovate from within to open up education.
• Governments must take firm decision on holistic policies for open and distance education.
• Stakeholders should team up meeting the two grand challenges through open education and technology enhanced learning.
The Future Of Teaching
What's going to happen to the teaching profession over the next decade? Will technology supplant the human at the front of the room? This session explores some of those future scenarios; and then provides four future-proofing strategies for sustaining the present great work in the profession.

It is imperative all educators become global - but what does this mean and how does it happen?
How do we define the global educator? Is it a qualification? Is it a self-declaration? Can it be proven through disposition, curriculum design, workflow, pedagogical approach, use of digital technology, or an ability to adapt and be flexible in learning? Is it all of these? As soon as the word ‘global’ is used we think about ‘global competency’ – are educators ready themselves to prepare students for adopting understandings that are global? The role online technologies play in supporting global educators is a significant factor also as it is through the use of emerging and established online technologies that global educators connect, communicate and collaborate.
Based on authentic material collected over the past 12+ months from global educators across the world this session explores the essential qualities of a global educator and a global education leader as well as global collaboration and learning design to go global, and provides strategies for becoming global.
