Arab Spring
What is Arab Spring
 Arab Spring is a term for a revolutionary wave of
demonstration and protests, riots and civil wars in the
Arab world that started 18th December 2010.
 To date, rulers have been forced from power
in Tunisia, twice Egypt, Libya, and Yemen; civil uprisings
have erupted in Bahrain and Syria; major protests have
broken out in Algeria, Iraq, Jordon, Kuwait, Morocco and
Sudan; with minor protests which have occurred in
Mauritania, Oman, Saudi Arabic, Djibouti, Western
Sahara, and the Palestinian Authority.

 Related events outside of the Arab World protests in
Iranian Khuzestan by the Arab minority in April 2011
and border clashes in Israel in may 2011.
 Weapons and Tuareg fighters returning form the Libyan
civil war stroked a simmering conflict in Mali which has
been described as “Fallout form the Arab Spring in North
Africa.

Media

 The protests have shared some techniques of civil
resistance in sustained campaigns strikes,
demonstrations, marches, and rallies, as well as the
effective use of social media organize, communicate,
and raise awareness in the face of state attempts at
repression and Internet Censorship by the local
governments in an attempted to suppress, control and
destroy the resistance.
