AR8300 is a nanoceramic grease designed to reduce wear on rail and wheel flanges in curves. It forms a protective barrier that is 5 times harder than metal and reduces the coefficient of friction to 0.003. Testing on track sections showed wear was reduced 2.2 times, from 0.13 to 0.06 mm/million gross tons, doubling rail and wheel life. AR8300 seeks out heat spots to form a smooth protective layer and protects against hydrogen embrittlement by sealing hydrogen out of the metal surface through ionic bonding.
