FIRST THERE WAS THE SEA
First there was she - the sea ... everything was dark.
There was no sun, no people, no plants.
The sea was the mother: the sea was not people, nor anyone, nor anything.
She was the spirit of what was to come.
She was the thought and the memory.

DR SARA BARRENTO | PORCUPINE CONFERENCE
I love the practical aspect of this module, it is very
informative.
Lecturers are very engaging and make the module
interesting.
The teaching methods for the Aquaculture Practical section
were innovative and engaging. The continous assessment
also was useful to integrate knowledge during the course,
and not cramming it at the end of the module.
The online resources, extra reading, and other resources were
of high quality and useful to learn more about the topics.
32. Overall I loved the module, I think Carlos and
Sara put in a lot of work and it was very
rewarding.
The boat practical was always going to be a
winner, getting to go out and preform field
work feels really engaging.
The lumpfish practical opened my eyes to
what is like working in aquaculture. This is
something I think the marine biology degree
really needs.
