This document describes an automated dynamometer test cell for testing torque converters and transmissions. The test cell focuses on in-situ fluid measurements, cavitation, acoustics, torsional dynamics, and damper systems, and is overseen by faculty and staff from Michigan Tech. It has capabilities for sponsored projects and opportunities for equipment funding or donations to expand capabilities. Past projects have examined topics like turbine blade strain, torque converter cavitation, and pressures in the pump and stator, while current work involves developing a torsional vibration shake table for damper design evaluations.
