Kindergarten News
Reading- Our reading unit is getting to know characters by performing their books. Students will work
on performing their books like the characters they are reading about. Make sure you are reading 20
minutes a night and going over your sight words to push those reading levels up!!
Writing- Our unit in writing is crafting stories using all we know about narrative writing. We will
work on stretching out our true stories and making them longer with lots of details!
Math- Our unit in math will be how many noses? How many eyes? And Ten Frames and Teen
Numbers. Make sure you are working on recognizing numbers
1-20 and counting to 100!
Science/S.S. – Animals and Algorithms; Arkansas History

Writing: Help your child write in complete sentences with a capital letter
and punctuation at the end.
Science/ Social Studies: Watch videos with your child about AR History and
animal adaptations.

We are finishing our reading unit on Historical Fiction and will be
moving on to our unit on reading test prep. We will be teaching your
child strategies to perform better on the ACT Aspire. Then, we
will move to our last unit on Nonfiction Authors!
Writing:
We will be learning new writing strategies to help your
child perform better on the ACT Aspire. Then we will
move to Informational Writing!
Math:
We are finishing our unit on Fractions and Decimals!!
We will start a unit on multiplication and division. Please
be working with your child on their multiplication facts!
We will be reviewing past math units to sharpen our
math skills!!
Project Lead the Way::
We are learning about force of motion and energy!
Students will be creating restraint systems!!

report writing. Students will
learn to use research skills to
deepen their knowledge of a
topic.
Math- Students are working on
developing an understanding of
decimals and the base-10 number
system. Students will represent
decimals on grids and number lines
and use their understanding of
decimals to compare, add, and
subtract.
Science-Mixtures and Solutions-
Students will have experiences with
mixtures, solutions of different
concentrations,and reactions
forming new substances. They will
also engage in engineering
experiences with separation of
materials.
