This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.

rereading power, partner power, picture power, snap work
power, and sound power.
• Writing- In writing we will work on writing true stories and
using some of our super powers in reading to read our writing.
• Math- Work on counting to 50 and recognizing numbers
1-15. Also, work on counting 10 objects! We will also
work on 2-D shapes and measuring.

Some Ways You Can Help Your Child at Home
Reading: Read with your child. When they get stuck on a word, have them
use their strategies to help them fix it!
Math: Give your child a number from 1-10 and have them come up with
different ways to make that number. (Ex. 3+3=6 & 4+1=6)
Writing: Help your child think of nonfiction topics they know a lot about.

Persuasive Essays! This has been an exciting and challenging
unit for us!! Our next unit is SUPER EXCITING!! We will soon
be learning about Literary Essays.
Math:
We are in the middle of our multiplication and
division unit! Please let me know if your child needs
multiplication flash cards to study at home!
Knowing these facts will make dividing easier!
Science/Social Studies:
We will be studying soils, rocks, and minerals
in science! For social studies, we will be
studying Colonial Life

This month, the students will be
learning about fractions. The students
are adding, subtracting, and
comparing fractions. They are also
working with mixed numbers.
Writing
Students will be writing a comparative
essay
that contains quotes from their texts
to support their thesis. This type of
writing will help students’ elaborate
their thinking about their characters
and the themes across multiple texts.
Reading
Students will be studying an author’s
work closely by reading more than
one book by the same author. They
will also be exploring the author’s
craft and life lessons the books
provide.
Science
Earth and Sun: Students will be
learning about the Sun, Planetary
Systems, Earth’s Atmosphere, as well
as Water on the Earth.
