Who’s it for?
• Our range of Apprenticeship
programmes provide anyone aged 16 and
over with the opportunity to ‘earn while
they learn’ and gain a recognised
qualification.
• 16/18 yr olds
• 19-25 yr olds
• Over 25s
How long is an Apprenticeship?
• It lasts for 18 months – 2 years and you
have to be working in the area you want
to study.
• Basically, you need to get the job first ,
then the Apprenticeship.
Advanced Apprenticeships
• Advanced apprenticeships are available
for Level 2 and 3, and some 4.
How does it work?
If you possess a degree you will not fit
the criteria.
• At 16-18 yrs it will be in NVQ format
with a Technical Certificate and
functional skills Eng/Maths
• If it is employer led you will be
expected to work over 16 hours for
which you will be paid a minimum salary,
set by the government.
You will be expected to attend College 1
day a week.
• Apprentices learn through a combination
of on and off the job learning. On the
job you work alongside staff, off the
job you attend Macclesfield College
working towards nationally recognised
qualifications.
• Apprenticeships can help you reach a
level of competency and performance
