Apple was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. They began by selling the Apple I computer out of Jobs' garage. The Apple II, released in 1977, was much improved over the Apple I and was designed for the average consumer. In 1981, Apple released the Macintosh, the first computer to feature a graphical user interface and mouse. It helped popularize the computer for regular people and not just experts. Over the decades, Apple struggled at times but Steve Jobs' return led to a focus on innovation and new products that transformed markets, such as the iPod, iPhone, and Apple's emphasis on user experience.
