Research on Smartphone Apps
Research on Smartphone Apps
“Our Groceries” is geared towards couples. For the
most part it’s pretty simple, it divides the app into
two categories: shopping list and recipes. The goal
is that couples can make a joint account and add
various items to one collective list from each of
their phones, making it easier for the person going
shopping. In the recipe section the app lists the
ingredients for Greek Salad and allows the user to
add recipes in the future. While the design is simple
and straight forward it is geared for organizational
purposes rather than personalizing one’s shopping
experience based on their needs.
Research on Smartphone Apps
Research on Smartphone Apps
Shazam was created in order to help people identify the
title and artist of a song or composition. The app is not
geared towards a specific age group but rather any music
listener thus it has much practical use. The homepage is a
singular button; when clicked the app listens to the song
playing and identifies it. There are subtabs on the
homepage. The first one leads to the user’s discovery or
“tag” history. The next tab allows the user to attach their
Shazam history to Facebook and see what music their
friends have been searching. The third tab contains a map
with the most popular music in a location, and finally
there’s a tab with the current top music charts.

  • 24. Research on Smartphone Apps “Our Groceries” is geared towards couples. For the most part it’s pretty simple, it divides the app into two categories: shopping list and recipes. The goal is that couples can make a joint account and add various items to one collective list from each of their phones, making it easier for the person going shopping. In the recipe section the app lists the ingredients for Greek Salad and allows the user to add recipes in the future. While the design is simple and straight forward it is geared for organizational purposes rather than personalizing one’s shopping experience based on their needs.
  • 26. Research on Smartphone Apps Shazam was created in order to help people identify the title and artist of a song or composition. The app is not geared towards a specific age group but rather any music listener thus it has much practical use. The homepage is a singular button; when clicked the app listens to the song playing and identifies it. There are subtabs on the homepage. The first one leads to the user’s discovery or “tag” history. The next tab allows the user to attach their Shazam history to Facebook and see what music their friends have been searching. The third tab contains a map with the most popular music in a location, and finally there’s a tab with the current top music charts.
