This document discusses a study on the biological control of aphids in hoop houses. Aphids can cause $10-250 million in annual crop damage. The study aims to determine if biological control agents can establish and be effective in hoop house environments. Four hoop houses were used, with two treated with biological control agents and two left untreated. Aphid and beneficial insect populations were sampled and tracked over time using sticky traps. Results showed populations of both aphids and beneficials decreased after weeding and harvesting, and syrphid flies had a significant impact. More research is still needed to fully understand the ability of beneficials to establish and their effect on aphid populations in hoop houses.
