The Race Of American History
Who s next? It seems that the issue about race in American history never reaches an endpoint. The
intersection of race, gender, contradiction has been continually crucial to shape the identity of
minority American. As early as the first wave of Asian immigrants, Chinese immigrants, arrived in
west coast, Asian Americans was haunted by anti Asian movement and intense hostility. Foreign
Miners Tax passed in 1852 was a representative of racial campaign between whites and nonwhites.
The requirement of monthly three dollars tax intentionally crashed the earliest American Dream of
Chinese immigrants who expected to lead a better life in the US. Such Anti Asian movement was
eventually ushered into legalized level. California Supreme Court declared in People v. Hall in
1854 that Chinese migrants were not entitled to testify against the white citizens in US court based
on the fact that people, other than whites, could never enjoy the same rights as white Americans.
Since then, Asian immigrants were subjected to numerous social and legislative initiatives that
specifically targeted them on a racial basis. In David Henry Huang s semiautobiographical play
Yellow Face, he mixed his own memory and fiction to depicting an image of Asian American
racial
identity. In 1990, Hwang led a group of Asian Americans to protest the casting of a white British
actor as a Eurasian character in the musical Miss Saigon. However, later in his own play Face
Value, he mistakenly casted a white actor,

Dynagogue Observation
While I was there I was able to take a tour of the whole building. Once you walked in the front
door you where greeted by beautiful stained glass windows. To the left there is a door that lead
to the synagogue itself. Upon walking in I loved an aisle lined with rows of chairs. The aisle let to
an alter where the rabbi would stand during service. At the very center is the ark which houses one
of the synagogue s Torah s. I later then found out that they keep a traditional sheep skin torah. Also
up on the alter is a tradition menorah. I was told that the menorah was actually one of the items
donated from another synagogue that had been shut down. Going through the back door I entered
the common familycenter. This is the area where the hold

Our Founding Fathers Effect on the Past, Present, and...
In the beginning, the nation s Founders were profoundly skeptical of direct democracy. They
believed that the follies of direct democracy far outweighed any virtues it might possess (Politics
in American pg. 76). According to an essay by Rose Wilder Lane (Lane, 1943), George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, James Madison, and James
Monroe feared democracy. The founders believed that the Constitution left all other governmental
powers to the states (Politics in American 2009 pg. 133). Our Founding Fathers never intended for
America to become a democracy. Most of them had served in the American Revolution, either as
soldiers in the Continental Army or as part of a legislative body. After the Revolutionary... Show

Essentially, the new constitution was written to protect the people from a democracy. The
Founding Fathers had learned from the past that a democracy was a form of lawless mob rule.
They saw that the ancient Greeks tried a true democracy that had failed and led to chaos. A true
democracy would not run efficiently or properly. The Founding Fathers saw our Government as a
Republic (McManus 2001). They were realists who believed in limited government and low taxes.
Their ideal was to build a unique structure of government to put into action their beliefs in
nationalism, limited government, and separation of powers with check and balances, and judicial
reviews. The Founding Fathers wanted to generate a strong government while ensuring that the
government would not become a threat to liberty or property. It was also decided that the
legislative branch should consist of two houses. So a new constitution was drawn up and once
ratified, the process of organizing a new government began. On September 13, 1788, Congress
determined that the city of New York should be the seat of the new government. The capital was
moved Philadelphia in 1790 and to Washington D.C. in the year 1800 where it remains today
(Lawler 2010). The process for the creation of the new government continued when George
Washington was unanimously elected the first president, and John Adams of Massachusetts, the
vice president. Adams

Mexican Boxing Essay
There was a fight in Las Vegas this past weekend to determine who was the king of Mexican
boxing. Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez took on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the MGM Grand in
front of thousands of prideful Mexicans and millions of fans worldwide. While there were two
fighters in the ring, only one came with a purpose. As soon as the first punch landed, you knew it
was going to be a long night for Chavez Jr. The 6 foot 1, tough chinned Mexican was under
constant pressure from Alvarez all night. Chavez Jr. came up short in every category aside height
and reach. The statistics tell us that Alvarez threw and landed more than double the punches of
Chavez Jr. Our eyes tell us that Alvarez could have ended the fight with a knockout, but wanted...

Silly promoters, always ready to set up the next fight. In this instance, they got it right. The
ending of the fight with Chavez Jr. was instantly forgotten and forgiven as Max Kellerman
segued Alvarez s post fight ring interview with a question about Gennady GGG Golovkin (37 0,
33 KO s). The anticipation in the crowd grew with boos, applause and excitement as the arena
screen displayed a compilation of GGG dismantling opponents. Seriously, you can t script this
folks. Or, as the promoters showed us, you can. As the compilation video ended, Golovkin was
shown in the boxers entrance with his entourage and theme music beginning to play. He slowly
made his way to the ring, casually waving at fans and pumping his fist in satisfaction as if to say,
yes, even though I am not fighting, I am still the main attraction. Alvarez and GGG will be the
biggest fight of the year and perhaps the biggest fight since Mayweather Pacquiao. They ll likely
have catch weight in the 160 pound range that is comfortable for both fighters. At this moment,
Canelo holds the momentum as Golovkin is coming off a slouch performance against a tough
Daniel Jacobs, who seemed to get the better of Golovkin at times. Golovkin is known as a
calculating pressure fighter on a level that Alvarez hasn t faced. The two styles set up as the
aggressive Alvarez versus Golovkin, who religiously stalks his opponents until they bow down to

Hillsborough s Gossip Girl
In this past year, Hillsborough female teens have begun to watch the television series, Gossip
Girl because of the show s fun and unbelievable nature. Most teenage females are attracted to
Gossip Girl due to the fantastical element. Many girls yearn to live in the Upper East Side like
the fortunate main characters Serena, Dan, Blair, Nate, and Chuck. However, they dread living in
the shadow of the mysterious blogger among the characters named Gossip Girl. It s equivalent to

Throughout Indian Country tribes have their own courts to address legal matters. However, the
Navajo Nation has a court system that stands apart from other tribes. Howard L. Brown Esq. wrote,
The Navajo Nation s Peacemaker Division: An Integrated Community Based Dispute Resolution
Forum which was published in the American Indian Law Review 1999 2000 issue and was

have violated tradition and failed to fulfill the expectation of their role as a family or community

similar to Pinto s which is illustrated via a table comparing three model s of dispute resolution.
The table clearly shows the importance of Navajo tradition in peacemaking and how it is reflected
in each step of the process via a healing ceremony and focusing on restoring harmony to the
community.[8] Pinto also includes three pages detailing the seven steps and components of the
peacemaking process. The outline format makes the process easy to understand and reinforces
many points brought up by the other two authors. Meyer describes the peacemaking process in

Positive And Negative Effects On Colonial America
Julia DeVincenzoBetween the sixteenth and mid eighteenth century, Tokuwaga Japan and the
colonization of America by Spain led the world in silver production. The increase in silver
prompted an extensive variety of consequences. Silver mining became extremely popular
especially during Ming China, where it was used as currency, in which all domestic taxes and
trade fees were to be paid in. Although silver served as a great way to facilitate trade, the increase
in demand led to social disputes and a decline in the economies of many countries. Based on the
documents, the rapid incline in demand for silver proved to have both positive and negative effects
on colonial America, Japan, China, and the world around them. Contrary to most Chinese thoughts,
the production of silver hurt the economy of Ming China. Document 3, for example, states that the
scarcity of the silver coin is what s damaging the harvests. Wang Xijue, a court official, believes
there is too much silver being used for taxes, that there is not enough left to care for the plantations.
He Qiaoyuan, also a Ming court official, describes how much profit the country could make if it
opened up its doors to trade with the Europeans (document 7). However, the unregulated flow of
silver into Ming China ultimately hurt the economy. With similar beliefs to that of Xijue, Ye

The Portuguese act as the facilitators of silver production; going to Japan and gathering silver, than
using the silver to their advantage to trade in China. By making silver production easier and more
efficient, the Portuguese made a great deal of money (document 4). By the year 1697 the British
became more involved in trade. Charles D Avenant, an English scholar, shows the importance of
England staying involved in trade with other countries such as Asia and Europe because it will

The Meaning of El Dorado and its contrast with the rest of the world: El Dorado appears to be the
perfect utopia, for others it represents an unrealistic place to live. For Voltaire this world meant
his entire desire and dream about the perfect society. Many critics note that El Dorado is only a
huge extravaganza because it consisted of contradictory statements. The meaning of El Dorado is a
vision of the perfect society and represents a false paradise impossible to attain or approach by the
destructive humannature. El Dorado contrasts with the rest of the world because at the time

The real society in which Voltaire lived is composed for many institutions that he attacks in
various opportunities such as the church and the monarchy. For example, when Candide arrived
to El Dorado and he sees that all the people believe in the same thing and there s not a priest, no
hierarchy, and all the people are equal. That s a good strike from Voltaire to the church claiming
that everybody must be equal. According with Dalnekoff, El Dorado is a foil to the societies
through which Candide has passed and will pass where the inquisition imposes a reign of terror,
and poverty, corruption and oppression are everywhere to be found. (Utopia and Satire)In contrast
of El Dorado with the contemporary system, we found that in the contemporary system much
oppression and abuses have been committed and in El Dorado the inhabitants are very virtuous;
they were a society with absence of many institutions.
A very questionable point in Candide and his extraordinary optimism is why if he believes that
everything obeys a divine pattern and all is for the best, why didn t he remain in El Dorado?.
Dalknekoff states that the motives given by Candide for departing are hardly worthy of
commendation. His desire to be richer than all those around him is certainly deplorable. (
Impossible dream) As Dalknekoff said, motives that move all human beings are money and the
desire for superiority.
Moreover, Shanley and Stillman endorse Candide; who States If we stay here,

Miranda Warnings Essay
Miranda warnings can render a subsequent confession admissible if sufficient time has passed to
purge the taint of the illegal seizure. (Brown v. Illinois (1975) 422 U.S. 604 (even if subsequent
statements were voluntarily under the Fifth Amendment, it must be a sufficient act of free will to
purge the primary taint).) Moreover, if a defendant is unlawfully detained, incriminating or
inculpatory statements stemming from custodial interrogation are inadmissible, even if the
defendant was Mirandized and a valid waiver was obtained prior to interrogation. (Brown, supra,

In addition, child marriage started to become more common as well. Often Muslim rulers and
officials kidnapped Hindu girls. Due to the kidnapping of the Hindu girls, their parent had to
practice child marriage. According to the history of India, It was emphasized that the proper age
for the marriage of girls was seven and that marriage after the age of eleven or twelve was sinful.
Just like the influence of Muslim on Hindu, Christianity also has huge impact on a Hindu society.
The British Colonization of India had many effects on these beliefs. These effects ranged from a

Looking for Answers in Looking for Richard Essay examples
Looking for Answers in Looking for Richard
Al Pacino s Looking for Richard is an unusual film. It is a documentary about the complexities of
Shakespeare, the performing of the play Richard III, and the ignorance of the average American
regarding Shakespeare. The unusual nature of the film it s similar to a filmed Cliff notes version of
the text provokes wildly different reactions from film buffs, critics, and Shakespeare purists. A
perusal of five different reviews of the film show such variant descriptors that range from Mary
Brennan s comment that the documentary is decidedly narcissistic to Edwin Jahiel s comment that
the film is an original, mesmerizing exploration. The rather wide incongruity between the reviews

Part of the issue when perusing these reviews is to determine what the critic perceived the
purpose of Pacino s film to be. Brennan s hypothesis is that Pacino s primary objective is to find
meaning in Richard III, and the secondary objectives include creating an accessible version of
the play the Mr. Joe Average can understand, while portraying the acting process when faced with
such a formidable text. How a critic views the goals of the film directly relates to how well he or
she believes Pacino achieved these goals, so it is important to discuss them.
Dre, a Girls on Film critic, offers another similar conjecture as to what Pacino s goals for the film
were. According to the first name only Dre, the purpose of the film was to present a tribute to
Shakespeare, to explore the acting process, and to explain and portray a version of Richard III.
Giving the film the page s highest rating, it is obvious that Dre feels the film delivers on its goals.
In fact, much of Dre s words match quite closely with the reasons Pacino stated onscreen for
making the film to present Shakespeare in a more contemporary form for the average American.

women (not necessarily with film history degrees) discussing movies. The bright pink colors and

To clean the flat iron, it s important that you make sure the plates are completely cooled. Unplug

how you d get a pretty serious burn. Place it on a towel and use a damp cloth or wet paper towel

Bank Mergers And Its Effect On The Banking Industry
Bank mergers often occur to diminish costs and increase efficiency across the banking industry.
In Finance 412, we have expressed the importance of regulatory burdens and the stress and
challenges banks face with enforcing these regulations. According to Kersha Cartwright, a bank
official that I spoke with, ProBank (PB), formerly located in Tallahassee, Florida, was under a
regulatory order to raise more capital. Since 2009, regulators have been concerned with banks
holding greater capital buffers and to keep larger reserves of liquid assets to prevent from
becoming insolvent. ProBank s regulatory order precluded it from lending new money within the
Tallahassee market place until more capital was raised. Bremen, Georgia s American... Show more

Benefits Of Staying Single In Japan
Staying Single is Popular in Japan When people talk about what family is, the first image in my
mind is that a father and his son are sitting on the deep green grass beside a jewelry blue lake,
and colorful birds are singing while the sun is shining on their smiling faces, which is a good
example from Once More to the Lake (White). What is a family? In my opinion, a family is that
the people have the close relationship and share the responsibility for each other. In a family,
people love each other and follow the same value, and they share the same sorrow and happiness,
and they support each other, such as the father s helping his son to do carpentry from The
Inheritance of Tools (Sanders). Considering for these, a family seems like at least two persons in
people s traditional opinions. If more and more people want to stay single instead of getting
married, what and how will affect our society? I have some Japanese friends in International
Education Center, which is an ESL school for international students. They tell me that living
single has been popular in Japan, and they have some relatives who prefer to a single life.
Staying single in Japan is increasing because of the pressure of finances for supporting a family,
and this kind of trend results in the growth rate of population is declining, which gives a great
challenge to Japanese society. There are more people who want to stay single, which is a
significant trend in Japan. The reason might be that it is more

Beowulf Anglo Saxon Hero Essay
The Hero of the Anglo Saxon Period In every culture, there are certain standards set forth for
heroes. The epic poem Beowulf, renders a legendary hero. In the Anglo Saxon culture, heroes must
be strong, courageous and loyal. Without these defining features there are no heroes. Beowulf is a
prime example of an Anglo Saxon hero. He possesses relentless loyalty to his king and his allies,
and his courage is unyielding. Beowulfs strength is exceptional, as the is able to conquer each of
his adversaries and conducts endeavors of unparalleled endurance. Beowulf faces many monsters
throughout the epic poem, three monsters he fights show a trace of Anglo Saxon heroism in them.
Even though they may also break the hero code on multiple occasions. Beowulf is a model Anglo
Saxon hero. The Anglo Saxons believed that heroes should be many things, fearless, strong and
loyal to his ring giver and allies. Beowulf is the strongest of the Geats greater and stronger than
anyone anywhere in the world (110). He fights many monsters too strong for men, but defeats them
with ease. Courage and loyalty,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like Grendel, the troll wife also possesses Anglo Saxon heroic qualities. The troll wife shows
great loyalty to her son, Grendel, when she attempts to avenge his death. She brings Beowulf s
sinking body to her battle hall and they start to duel it out (558). Beowulf failed to pay the
wyrgild, so the troll wife is justified and entitled to a fair fight with her sons killer. Grendel s
mother also breaks the the hero code, many times. When she fights Beowulf, she squats her
weight on his stomach, drew a dagger, brown with dried blood and prepared to avenge her only
son (621). The troll wife pulls a dagger on an unarmed opponent making the fight unfair, which is
not honorable or heroic according to the Anglo Saxon hero code. Regardless of the troll wife s
short comings, she still shows a glimmer of heroic

History of the West Nile Virus Essay
History of the West Nile Virus
Abstract
West Nile virus (WNV) is a virus that is transmitted by mosquitoes. It has been found in humans,
birds, and other animals, typically in Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. In 1999, WNV
was detected in the United States for the first time, and since then it has spread across the U.S.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 15,000 people in
the U.S. have tested positive for the WNV infection since 1999, including over 500 deaths. Many
more people have likely been infected with WNV, but have experienced mild or no symptoms.
What is the history of the West Nile virus? West Nile virus is an emerging infectious disease that can
cause encephalitis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because New York City is such a huge port of entry into this country, it was suggested that WNV
came from a bird smuggled into the US from Africa or Asia. Since then, WNV has spread to 48
states, and to Canada and Mexico. Ever since the outbreak in New York till now there where
15,000 people in the U.S. that tested positive for WNV infection. The virus has probably spread to
the east through the west by migrating birds that have the virus.
West Nile virus exists in nature through a transmission cycle involving mosquitoes and birds.
Mosquitoes become infected with West Nile virus when they feed on infected birds, which may
carry the virus in their blood for a few days. Infected mosquitoes can then transmit West Nile virus
to humans and animals when biting to take a blood meal. In rare instances, West Nile virus may be
transmitted from human to human through organ donation or blood transfusion or from pregnant
mother to fetus. These new modes or transmission are still under investigation.
People typically develop symptoms 3 to 15 days after they are bitten by an infected mosquito. WNV
affects the central nervous system in the body, however, symptoms vary. Less than one percent
(about one in 150 people) of individuals infected with WNV will develop severe illness. The severe
symptoms can include high fever, headache, neck stiffness, stupor, disorientation, coma, tremors,
convulsions, muscle weakness, vision loss, numbness

How are the roles and representations of females in the texts She by H. Rider Haggard and Things

outcome is close to the same. Ayesha in She plays a role she created for herself in the Amahagger
community, which can be contrasted with the culture the novel was written in by the author at the
time. The women in Things Fall Apartare also as such represented by their culture, and can be

A Health Indicator Of Nepal Essay
PUBLC HEALTH INDICATOR
SNAP OF NEPAL
Nepal is a relatively small (population around 26.5 million) land locked country, bordered by the
two biggest countries in the world, India and China. Its renowned physical beauty makes it very
fragmented and many parts are inaccessible by modern transport and communication facilities.
There are few cities and 86% of the population lives in rural areas. The country is divided into 5
development regions, 14 zones and 75 districts. Despite its richness in biodiversity, natural
resources and cultural multiplicity, Nepal has still remained a developing country where more than
24 percent of the people live under the poverty line. The impact of the poverty is manifest in all
other sectors like health and hygiene, education, disaster and conflict preparedness, access to and
distribution of resources, gender equity, as well as respect for humanitarian values. The transitional
period of developmental change in the legal, political, financial and diplomatic scenario indicate
that the country needs more efforts in the fields of social reformation, rehabilitation and
development.

Personal Choices In Romeo And Juliet
Ovid s PT and Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet can both be a very hard story to read and
interpret. The characters are constantly following things that pop up in their mind and
coincidentally happening. I believe that in both stories Destiny has the greatest impact on
multiple things but the main controversial topic is personal choices. That s why I believe in
Ovid s PT and Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, Destiny had a greater impact on characters. One
example from Romeo and Juliet is when Romeo accidentally get invited to a Capulets party
where coincidentally Juliet is there. If it was the personal choice that thrived Romeo would
have chosen not to go to the party. These are shown in the play when Romeo says Romeo
suggests as much before he goes to the party where he first meets Juliet: I fear, too early for my
minds misgive some consequences yet hanging in the stars. This shows that without destiny
Romeo would have chosen not to go to the party and would have never been given the
opportunity to meet Juliet. Another example of this in Romeo and Juliet is when Juliet finds out
Romeo is of the house of Montague and the nurse says His name is Romeo, and a Montague, THe

The Reason Why La Tomatina

people who were joining the fight. It is almost unimportant in the landscape of popular Spanish

somehow it caught the eye of some major media outlet. Another reason why some people do not
participate is because they do not like tomato to be thrown at. They replied that it is messy and
people get hurt if they slip over. In this special celebration, there is no political or religion
importance to La Tomatina. In 1980, the organization of the festival became the responsibility of
the town. Soon this celebration became internationally considerable and highly broadcasted by the
use of international media. In the beginning, it was forbidden in the early 1950 s but people
spoke and the celebration was allowed with more contestants and more frenetic feelings. The

This is because the risk of a building contractor being responsible for someone being injured is
greater, and when this happens, damages are typically more. As an example, medical costs for
an injury might be $200,000 to $300,000, and legal fees could total more than $100,000. If your

why someone with a higher risk of owing expensive damages who has business liability

Canadian Peacekeeping In Canada
Throughout the world, there has always been conflicts between different nations. One of Canada s
characteristics represents a defining aspect known as peacekeeping, through their beliefs and
interests. Peacekeeping has always been a priority for Canadians to control conflict for Canada and
other nations around the world. Peacekeepingin Canada began in 1957, when Lester B. Pearson

Pearson proposed the idea of having an armed peacekeeping force. Peacekeeping is the active
maintenance of a truce between nations or communities, especially in international military forces.
Canada has significantly impacted peacekeeping, through sending troops on peacekeeping missions
and showing how to resolve conflict, getting money and aid through communities to help more
nations, and raising awareness on peacekeeping politically.

Which is to love and will be rewarded for in Heaven. Confession as a spiritual discipline requires
steps: training, self examination, to become aware. To be able to ask why and what happened,
having a new feeling, and making a new promise. In preparation, we ask for the Spirit s help
through prayer and consecration. We examine ourselves to find the sins in our lives. We ask for
a new insight of our sins and alternative for worldly habits. We then need to ask why we sinned
and what the consequences for our action of sin were. We then start to have a new feeling about
the sin through a transformation conviction. We adopt a new assurance about our sin. And you

Reconstruction failed to bring about social and economic equality to the former slaves due to the
southern whites resentful and bitter outlook on the matter, the Ku Klux Klan, and the Jim Crow

southern states began issuing black codes, which were laws made subsequent to the Civil War that

The Ku Klux Act gave the president great power to intervene with southern states affected by the
Klan s violent acts. Federal officials eventually arrested hundreds of people suspected to have been

achieved its main goals in the majority of the southern states and the white supremacist
governments were then in firm control. Consequently, a variety of legal measures could be taken
to suppress the blacks voting and civil rights. The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws enacted
that mandated racial segregation in all public facilities in southern states of the former

the blacks that tended to be inferior to those provided for whites. Law enforced segregation mainly
applied to the southern United States whereas northern segregation had patterns of segregation in

Analysis Of `` No Country For Old Men ``
In Cormac McCarthy s No Country For Old Men, fate plays a significant role in the novel and is
present in the lives of each of the characters he portrays. Fate, as defined in the dictionary, is the
will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as
they are or events to happen as they do. The theme of fate is demonstrated in all of the characters
in the novel, but most evidently in Llewellyn Moss, Ed Tom Bell, Carla Jean, Carson Wells, and
Anton Chigurh. Fate is the main difference that lies between all of these characters. In his
interactions with other characters, Anton Chigurh continually suggests that each and every choice
we make determines our fate. The most critical character in the entire novel is the antagonist
Anton Chigurh: a psychopathic hit man who kills almost everyone he meets. Chigurh is
completely eccentric and strictly abides to a moral code; he believes that he is an agent of fate,
and that each and every choice we make determines our fate, no matter how small. This moral code
is demonstrated in each of Chigurh s interactions with the other characters. Throughout the novel it
is not known if fate is necessarily either good or bad but it does not really matter because in the
end the inevitable is going to happen. In this novel, McCarthy suggests that regardless of what path
we choose, life will always end in death. Chigurh embodies this philosophy and throughout the
novel he consistently serves as a reminder

My Idea Of Establishing A Hotel
Living as a foreigner in any country is not an easy task no matter why you have to be there: it
can be for studies like we are, to accompany your spouse, to be an employee and especially hard
is to establish your own business abroad. You have to keep in mind various aspects if you think
about starting from currency, living arrangements, funds, working permissions and ending with
performance standards, law regulations and so on. In this report I will explain my idea of

They are often do not meet the requirements needed for hotels with 5, 4 and even 3 stars because
of their size but they don t inferior in quality of service by any means. The basic idea of boutique
hotel is a unique, one of a kind, high class accommodation for people with medium to high income
that provides exclusive services tailored for the target group of guests.
Ireland has a distinguished style that many people appreciate and enjoy called Celtic design.
Any room or apartment could be transformed by painting the walls certain shades of green, gray,
black, maroon and brown, decorating the interior with symbols of trees, Celtic knots and using
such materials as wool and wood. This style has a lot of fans among non Irish people and of course
local people as well. However, if we speak about hotels in Irish style, they are mostly targeted at
foreigners as Irish people are already surrounded by it from the moment of birth.
After analyzing the competition on the market of boutique hotels in Dublin, I came to the
conclusion that among existing accommodation establishments there are no boutique hotels in
traditional Irish style. This fact is a huge missed opportunity because, as it was already mentioned,
Dublin welcomes more than 4 million tourists from outside of Ireland which includes the United
Kingdom, EU countries, USA, Asian countries, South American countries and so on. Usually, when
people are visiting another country with culture that is

discussed, from a historical as well as biblical perspective, what happened to the nation of Israel,
how this event impacted the surrounding nations, as well as God s hand in the event guiding the
nation of Israel and His ultimate purpose through the event. God warned Israel before they entered
the Promised Land that they will forsake Him and go after other gods. As a result of this, He will
scatter them among the nations. After the death of Solomon, the United Kingdom was split in two:
The Northern ten tribes will form Israel and the remaining 2 tribes in the South will form Judah.

This is an important period in Israel s history because the captivity and the return and restoration of
the Jewish nation were fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies.
When Solomon died in 931 B.C., the United Kingdom of Israel was split in two: 10 tribes in the
North formed Israel and the 2 remaining tribes in the South continued under the name of Judah.
God punished the Northern Kingdom for their idolatry and in 722 B.C. it was conquered by the
Assyrians. The people were taken into captivity and they never returned to their homeland. The
Southern Kingdom survived until 586 B.C. when it fell to the Babylonians.
From historical perspective, the Babylonian captivity started after the Babylonian army defeats the
Pharaoh Necho s army at Carchemish in 605 B.C. The King Jehoiakim had to pay tribute to
Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon. At this time Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego were taken to Babylon. This was the first

Arrow Impossibility Theorem
The Arrow impossibility theorem and its implications for voting and elections
Arrow s impossibility theorem represents a fascinating problem in the philosophy of economics,
widely discussed for insinuating doubt on commonly accepted beliefs towards collective decision
making procedures.
This essay will introduce its fundamental assumptions, explain its meaning, explore some of the
solutions available to escape its predictions and finally discuss its implications for political voting
and elections. I will begin by giving some definitions and presenting the fundamental issue of social
choice theory, consisting of the identification of an ideal device for preference aggregation, capable
of converting individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The existence of such trade off poses serious obstacles for the identification of an optimal voting
system in real society elections and has strong consequences in welfare economics and justice
theory.
There are possible solutions to escape the paradox by accepting to relax one or more of the theorem
fundamental assumptions. For example, by restricting the voting choice between just two
alternatives, a coherent group decisions can always be obtained through majority voting.
In politics this is commonly achieved using different methods among which are the assignment of
agenda power to an individual, the elimination of defeated alternatives from the vote and the
limitation of voting rounds. Individuals having the power of making such choices can actively
influence the results of the elections and have their most preferred outcome implemented.
Another popular approach consists of restricting the application of the voting system to a specific
type of individual preferences denoted as single peaked , characterized by the presence of a most
preferred alternative for each individual. Furthermore, in the context of a uni dimensional policy
space we can also apply Black s median voter theorem to identify the Condorcet winner in the
societal ranking, consisting of the most preferred alternative of the median voter.
Despite the existence of a number of cases where it s possible to circumnavigate the paradox, many
political problems present complex and

Lester B Pearson s Role During The Vietnam War
When one thinks of Canada, he/she is most likely to stereotypically comment on a subject
regarding hockey, beavers, maple syrup, and cold weather. However, not many stop and wonder
about how Canada became the peaceful nation it is today. Throughout Canada s relatively short and
brief history, it has managed to flourish into a strong and powerful nation. Canadas peaceful identity
has been formed with meaningful historic events that have occurred throughout our history. It s
identity has been characterized by Lester B. Pearson s role during the suez canal, their involvement

Reverse Gender Roles in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
The role gender holds in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is not one many were familiar with at the
time it was written. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz reverses the accepted gender roles of its time,
women taking control, even helping men in times of need. This idea is depicted throughout the
entire novel, affecting almost every character introduced. This novel essentially questions and
challenges the accepted beliefs on the roles of gender in the society at that time, showing how
things would be if roles were different. With this, through a description of the characters, you can
see who was empowered by Baum and who held an inferior role. In this novel, the women and the
men have very different roles. Baum created strong and powerful women, but... Show more content

She then gave Dorothy what she had been looking for throughout the entire novel, a way home,
something the Wizard failed to give her. Your Silver Shoes will carry you over the desert (Baum
133). Dorothy had the answer to her question the entire time, but she was meant to help all the
other characters along the way, really making her the heroine of the story. Two other women that
were empowered by Baum were the female stork and the Queen of Mice. The group came upon the
female stork when they were in trouble. The Scarecrow was stuck in the river, and the Tin Woodman
and the Lion were not able to save him. It seemed as if they had given up, until the Stork came
and offered her help to get him across. Then the Stork with her great claws grabbed the
Scarecrow by the arm and carried him up into the air and back to the bank... (Baum 47). She was
able to do something that the men were unable to do. Baum made her more powerful than them.
The Queen of Mice was also empowered by Baum, first off by just being a leader, as a woman, to
a large group. She also guided the group of mice to save the Lion from the poisonous field, which
the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow could not do alone. With her help, their friend was saved.
Being that all the characters that were empowered were women, it is easy to see what aspects of
gender are questioned or challenged in this novel.

Descriptive Essay On A Blue Hotel
It was six o clock in the afternoon on December 31st 2008. My family and I finally landed in
Newark International Airport in New Jersey, after a seven hour delay in Lisbon, Portugal. We
were now only an hour away from our final destination: New York. By the time we got to the
Blue Hotel in Manhattan, it was 8:30 PM, at this point we were very jet lagged and hungry. We
quickly washed off the plane dirt off our buddies in the limpid, walk in shower. We looked for the
fastest way to get to Time Square. We decided to take the metro since the closest entrance was right
in front of our hotel; and we were on our way. When we arrived at our destination we were
officially starving; our mouths started to water as soon as we stepped into the bland colored
restaurant, and we inhaled the sharp, aromatic smell coming from a carefully decorated plate a
server was holding. Once we finished our meal and payed the check we walked out of the warm
and comfortable restaurant, to be met with the cold, wet air of a typical New York night.
We were now facing the elegantly decorated Central Park. The newly found atmosphere was so
frenetic that it made my heart race. The clock was now signing 11:25 PM. My mind started
imagining the eruption of excitement and celebration that would be starting in just a few minutes.
We walked, while the wind was blowing softly between the tall, shiny buildings; It had just finished
raining and the air felt heavy and humid, this made chills run through my spine.

these horrible situations that Peekay has to live in, he always gets through on top, but he would

The Dangers Of Polish People In The Holocaust
In the graphic novel The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman, the Polish people were conveyed as
selfish and cruel for the actions they chose to carry out, protecting themselves before the Jews. I
do not necessarily believe the Polish people were as evil as the Germans during the Holocaust, but
I believe that in this world no one is perfect. Everyone has done things that they are not proud of as
human beings. I am convinced that the Polesare better than the Nazis because the Poles actually
tried to assist some Jews by hiding them in their homes. As humans, we cannot really know what
we would do in circumstances like the Holocaustunless we are faced with them. People may still
judge the Poles for their actions however, they were humans beings making a human decision.
During the Holocaust, there was a select few Polish people that were willing to risk their lives
and provide refuge for Jews that were in need of harboring. In the article One million Polish
rescuers of hunted Jews? by Hans G Furth, Furth discusses the number of rescuers that were
executed as a result of hiding some Jews in their homes. According to Furth, Thousands of Poles
were executed for helping Jews (Furth 230). The Polish people received the same punishment as
the Jews when they were discovered by the Nazis during the Holocaust. The Poles were murdered
on the spot or burned alive with the Jewish victims. During that period of time, Jews were walking
the streets disguised as Polish people. A

Rhetorical Devices In The Declaration Of Independence
In 1776 America s founding fathers decided to separate from their mother country, Great Britain,
and live as independent states. In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson writes that
the United colonies...ought to be free and Independent States, (lines 131 133) after they have
undergone a long string of abuses by King George. As he writes the Declaration of Independence,
Jefferson s purpose is to give reason to the colonists, the King and the foreign worldly powers of
why the colonists feel the need to separate themselves from Great Britain. In the Declaration
Jefferson faces the challenge of persuading his audience that the colonists need to dissolve from
Great Britain, he overcomes this by using rhetorical devices to convince the audience that the
colonists have certain rights the British are not protecting, the colonists have long been abused by
King George and the colonists have tried to reason with the British, but they need to become

  • 2. The Race Of American History Who s next? It seems that the issue about race in American history never reaches an endpoint. The intersection of race, gender, contradiction has been continually crucial to shape the identity of minority American. As early as the first wave of Asian immigrants, Chinese immigrants, arrived in west coast, Asian Americans was haunted by anti Asian movement and intense hostility. Foreign Miners Tax passed in 1852 was a representative of racial campaign between whites and nonwhites. The requirement of monthly three dollars tax intentionally crashed the earliest American Dream of Chinese immigrants who expected to lead a better life in the US. Such Anti Asian movement was eventually ushered into legalized level. California Supreme Court declared in People v. Hall in 1854 that Chinese migrants were not entitled to testify against the white citizens in US court based on the fact that people, other than whites, could never enjoy the same rights as white Americans. Since then, Asian immigrants were subjected to numerous social and legislative initiatives that specifically targeted them on a racial basis. In David Henry Huang s semiautobiographical play Yellow Face, he mixed his own memory and fiction to depicting an image of Asian American racial identity. In 1990, Hwang led a group of Asian Americans to protest the casting of a white British actor as a Eurasian character in the musical Miss Saigon. However, later in his own play Face Value, he mistakenly casted a white actor, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To the left there is a door that lead to the synagogue itself. Upon walking in I loved an aisle lined with rows of chairs. The aisle let to an alter where the rabbi would stand during service. At the very center is the ark which houses one of the synagogue s Torah s. I later then found out that they keep a traditional sheep skin torah. Also up on the alter is a tradition menorah. • 4. Our Founding Fathers Effect on the Past, Present, and... In the beginning, the nation s Founders were profoundly skeptical of direct democracy. They believed that the follies of direct democracy far outweighed any virtues it might possess (Politics in American pg. 76). According to an essay by Rose Wilder Lane (Lane, 1943), George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, James Madison, and James Monroe feared democracy. The founders believed that the Constitution left all other governmental powers to the states (Politics in American 2009 pg. 133). Our Founding Fathers never intended for America to become a democracy. Most of them had served in the American Revolution, either as soldiers in the Continental Army or as part of a legislative body. After the Revolutionary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, the new constitution was written to protect the people from a democracy. The Founding Fathers had learned from the past that a democracy was a form of lawless mob rule. They saw that the ancient Greeks tried a true democracy that had failed and led to chaos. A true democracy would not run efficiently or properly. The Founding Fathers saw our Government as a Republic (McManus 2001). They were realists who believed in limited government and low taxes. Their ideal was to build a unique structure of government to put into action their beliefs in nationalism, limited government, and separation of powers with check and balances, and judicial reviews. The Founding Fathers wanted to generate a strong government while ensuring that the government would not become a threat to liberty or property. It was also decided that the legislative branch should consist of two houses. So a new constitution was drawn up and once ratified, the process of organizing a new government began. On September 13, 1788, Congress determined that the city of New York should be the seat of the new government. The capital was moved Philadelphia in 1790 and to Washington D.C. in the year 1800 where it remains today (Lawler 2010). The process for the creation of the new government continued when George Washington was unanimously elected the first president, and John Adams of Massachusetts, the vice president. Adams ... • 5. Mexican Boxing Essay There was a fight in Las Vegas this past weekend to determine who was the king of Mexican boxing. Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez took on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the MGM Grand in front of thousands of prideful Mexicans and millions of fans worldwide. While there were two fighters in the ring, only one came with a purpose. As soon as the first punch landed, you knew it was going to be a long night for Chavez Jr. The 6 foot 1, tough chinned Mexican was under constant pressure from Alvarez all night. Chavez Jr. came up short in every category aside height and reach. The ending of the fight with Chavez Jr. was instantly forgotten and forgiven as Max Kellerman segued Alvarez s post fight ring interview with a question about Gennady GGG Golovkin (37 0, 33 KO s). The anticipation in the crowd grew with boos, applause and excitement as the arena screen displayed a compilation of GGG dismantling opponents. Seriously, you can t script this folks. Or, as the promoters showed us, you can. As the compilation video ended, Golovkin was shown in the boxers entrance with his entourage and theme music beginning to play. He slowly made his way to the ring, casually waving at fans and pumping his fist in satisfaction as if to say, yes, even though I am not fighting, I am still the main attraction. Alvarez and GGG will be the biggest fight of the year and perhaps the biggest fight since Mayweather Pacquiao. They ll likely have catch weight in the 160 pound range that is comfortable for both fighters. At this moment, Canelo holds the momentum as Golovkin is coming off a slouch performance against a tough Daniel Jacobs, who seemed to get the better of Golovkin at times. • 10. Positive And Negative Effects On Colonial America Julia DeVincenzoBetween the sixteenth and mid eighteenth century, Tokuwaga Japan and the colonization of America by Spain led the world in silver production. The increase in silver prompted an extensive variety of consequences. Silver mining became extremely popular especially during Ming China, where it was used as currency, in which all domestic taxes and trade fees were to be paid in. Although silver served as a great way to facilitate trade, the increase in demand led to social disputes and a decline in the economies of many countries. Based on the documents, the rapid incline in demand for silver proved to have both positive and negative effects on colonial America, Japan, China, and the world around them. Contrary to most Chinese thoughts, the production of silver hurt the economy of Ming China. Document 3, for example, states that the scarcity of the silver coin is what s damaging the harvests. Wang Xijue, a court official, believes there is too much silver being used for taxes, that there is not enough left to care for the plantations. He Qiaoyuan, also a Ming court official, describes how much profit the country could make if it opened up its doors to trade with the Europeans (document 7). However, the unregulated flow of silver into Ming China ultimately hurt the economy. With similar beliefs to that of Xijue, Ye Chunji, a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, when Candide arrived to El Dorado and he sees that all the people believe in the same thing and there s not a priest, no hierarchy, and all the people are equal. That s a good strike from Voltaire to the church claiming that everybody must be equal. According with Dalnekoff, El Dorado is a foil to the societies through which Candide has passed and will pass where the inquisition imposes a reign of terror, and poverty, corruption and oppression are everywhere to be found. (Utopia and Satire)In contrast of El Dorado with the contemporary system, we found that in the contemporary system much oppression and abuses have been committed and in El Dorado the inhabitants are very virtuous; they were a society with absence of many institutions. A very questionable point in Candide and his extraordinary optimism is why if he believes that everything obeys a divine pattern and all is for the best, why didn t he remain in El Dorado?. Dalknekoff states that the motives given by Candide for departing are hardly worthy of commendation. His desire to be richer than all those around him is certainly deplorable. How a critic views the goals of the film directly relates to how well he or she believes Pacino achieved these goals, so it is important to discuss them. Benefits Of Staying Single In Japan Staying Single is Popular in Japan When people talk about what family is, the first image in my mind is that a father and his son are sitting on the deep green grass beside a jewelry blue lake, and colorful birds are singing while the sun is shining on their smiling faces, which is a good example from Once More to the Lake (White). What is a family? In my opinion, a family is that the people have the close relationship and share the responsibility for each other. In a family, people love each other and follow the same value, and they share the same sorrow and happiness, and they support each other, such as the father s helping his son to do carpentry from The Inheritance of Tools (Sanders). The characters are constantly following things that pop up in their mind and coincidentally happening. I believe that in both stories Destiny has the greatest impact on multiple things but the main controversial topic is personal choices. • 40. Analysis Of `` No Country For Old Men `` In Cormac McCarthy s No Country For Old Men, fate plays a significant role in the novel and is present in the lives of each of the characters he portrays. Fate, as defined in the dictionary, is the will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do. The theme of fate is demonstrated in all of the characters in the novel, but most evidently in Llewellyn Moss, Ed Tom Bell, Carla Jean, Carson Wells, and Anton Chigurh. Fate is the main difference that lies between all of these characters. In his interactions with other characters, Anton Chigurh continually suggests that each and every choice we make determines our fate. The most critical character in the entire novel is the antagonist Anton Chigurh: a psychopathic hit man who kills almost everyone he meets. Chigurh is completely eccentric and strictly abides to a moral code; he believes that he is an agent of fate, and that each and every choice we make determines our fate, no matter how small. This moral code is demonstrated in each of Chigurh s interactions with the other characters. Throughout the novel it is not known if fate is necessarily either good or bad but it does not really matter because in the end the inevitable is going to happen. In this novel, McCarthy suggests that regardless of what path we choose, life will always end in death. Chigurh embodies this philosophy and throughout the novel he consistently serves as a reminder ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ireland has a distinguished style that many people appreciate and enjoy called Celtic design. Any room or apartment could be transformed by painting the walls certain shades of green, gray, black, maroon and brown, decorating the interior with symbols of trees, Celtic knots and using such materials as wool and wood. However, if we speak about hotels in Irish style, they are mostly targeted at foreigners as Irish people are already surrounded by it from the moment of birth. After analyzing the competition on the market of boutique hotels in Dublin, I came to the conclusion that among existing accommodation establishments there are no boutique hotels in traditional Irish style. The existence of such trade off poses serious obstacles for the identification of an optimal voting system in real society elections and has strong consequences in welfare economics and justice theory. There are possible solutions to escape the paradox by accepting to relax one or more of the theorem fundamental assumptions. For example, by restricting the voting choice between just two alternatives, a coherent group decisions can always be obtained through majority voting. In politics this is commonly achieved using different methods among which are the assignment of agenda power to an individual, the elimination of defeated alternatives from the vote and the limitation of voting rounds. Individuals having the power of making such choices can actively influence the results of the elections and have their most preferred outcome implemented. Another popular approach consists of restricting the application of the voting system to a specific type of individual preferences denoted as single peaked , characterized by the presence of a most preferred alternative for each individual. Furthermore, in the context of a uni dimensional policy space we can also apply Black s median voter theorem to identify the Condorcet winner in the societal ranking, consisting of the most preferred alternative of the median voter. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz reverses the accepted gender roles of its time, women taking control, even helping men in times of need. This idea is depicted throughout the entire novel, affecting almost every character introduced. This novel essentially questions and challenges the accepted beliefs on the roles of gender in the society at that time, showing how things would be if roles were different. With this, through a description of the characters, you can see who was empowered by Baum and who held an inferior role. In this novel, the women and the men have very different roles. Two other women that were empowered by Baum were the female stork and the Queen of Mice. The group came upon the female stork when they were in trouble. The Scarecrow was stuck in the river, and the Tin Woodman and the Lion were not able to save him. It seemed as if they had given up, until the Stork came and offered her help to get him across. • 50. Descriptive Essay On A Blue Hotel It was six o clock in the afternoon on December 31st 2008. My family and I finally landed in Newark International Airport in New Jersey, after a seven hour delay in Lisbon, Portugal. We were now only an hour away from our final destination: New York. By the time we got to the Blue Hotel in Manhattan, it was 8:30 PM, at this point we were very jet lagged and hungry. We quickly washed off the plane dirt off our buddies in the limpid, walk in shower. We looked for the fastest way to get to Time Square. We decided to take the metro since the closest entrance was right in front of our hotel; and we were on our way. When we arrived at our destination we were officially starving; our mouths started to water as soon as we stepped into the bland colored restaurant, and we inhaled the sharp, aromatic smell coming from a carefully decorated plate a server was holding. Once we finished our meal and payed the check we walked out of the warm and comfortable restaurant, to be met with the cold, wet air of a typical New York night. We were now facing the elegantly decorated Central Park. The newly found atmosphere was so frenetic that it made my heart race. The clock was now signing 11:25 PM. My mind started imagining the eruption of excitement and celebration that would be starting in just a few minutes. We walked, while the wind was blowing softly between the tall, shiny buildings; It had just finished raining and the air felt heavy and humid, this made chills run through my spine. ... The Dangers Of Polish People In The Holocaust In the graphic novel The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman, the Polish people were conveyed as selfish and cruel for the actions they chose to carry out, protecting themselves before the Jews. I do not necessarily believe the Polish people were as evil as the Germans during the Holocaust, but I believe that in this world no one is perfect. Everyone has done things that they are not proud of as human beings. I am convinced that the Polesare better than the Nazis because the Poles actually tried to assist some Jews by hiding them in their homes. As humans, we cannot really know what we would do in circumstances like the Holocaustunless we are faced with them. People may still judge the Poles for their actions however, they were humans beings making a human decision.
