What is Bullying?
What makes us all
different?
The way we look.
The things we like.
What we want to do.
Where we live.
The things we have.
What makes us all the same?
We want to have friends.
We want to be safe.
We want to be happy.
We want to feel included.
We all think and we all feel.
What If Nothing Was Different?
You wouldn’t be able to talk about new things.
You’d all have the same idea.
All food would be the same.
There’d be nothing exciting or new.
We’d all just be like robots!
Do we think that
everyone being
the same would
be good?
No!If we were all the same, think how boring
the world would be.
What makes us different is what makes us… Us!
By having things that are special about us we stand out in different
ways, and that’s what makes us unique.
We should celebrate what makes us special, not be nasty about the
things that are different in others.
Everyone in the world is different to everyone else!
Even identical twins are different to each other in some ways.
If you pick on someone for something that makes them different,
that makes you a BULLY!
What makes something Bullying?
Bullying is when you do something that is meant to be nasty
to someone else. It can include things like:
● Name calling
● Hitting or kicking
● Spreading nasty rumours
● Talking about somebody behind their back
● Posting an embarrassing video or photo of them online
● Sending mean texts or making nasty phone calls.
Why do people
bully?
1.They’re angry, and they want to take their
anger out on others
2. They’re upset, and want to make someone
feel worse because they think it will make
them feel better.
3. They seem very confident (but probably
aren’t inside), and like using their power to
make some people feel small.
4. They’re embarrassed, and want others to
be embarrassed too.
What to do if you’re
being bullied
1.Tell a teacher or adult you trust; they can
and will help.
2. Don’t attack or be aggressive towards the
bully.
3. Ignore any nasty things they say - you
know they aren’t true, so why worry about
them?
4. Play with your friends - if you have a good
time away from the bully, you’ll forget all
about them.
Remember the golden rule:
Treat others the way you
would like to be treated!
