This document provides an overview of Ansoff's Matrix, a framework developed by Igor Ansoff for identifying corporate growth opportunities. It identifies four generic growth strategies based on existing vs. new products and markets: market penetration, market development, product development, and diversification. Market penetration carries the lowest risk while diversification carries the highest risk. Examples of Tesco and Scottish banks using these various strategies are also discussed.
