3/4/20 – First order of PPE & organized chaos begins
3/12 - 3/16/20 – Many SWN Partners move to mandatory telework & virtual
services
3/24/20 – SWN moves to telework and virtual services
4/20 – All services except assessments are online & virtual
5/19/20 – Begin planning for “re-entry” to facilities
6/19/20 – SWN 1st Virtual Annual Meeting
7/20/20 – Limited staff return to SWN facilities
9/4/20 – 50% staffing at facilities eventually moves to 75%
9/25/20 –1st WBT virtual Job Fair/Expo
12/10/20 – MD DOL & SWN partner on 1st Virtual Job Fair
2/3/21 – Drive-up/drop off services begin at Workforce Centers
5/1/21 – Transition to 100% staffing and by appointment services

Susquehanna Works – Incumbent Worker Training
On-the Job Training
Youth Services
• Expanded “in-house” Out of School Youth/Young Adult programing.
• Utilized 180 Skills Employability Skills, an on-line self directed training
platform. 20 out of 21 completed the program. Participants received
stipends.
• Hosted Weekly Career Exploration virtual meetings using the WIOA
Partners High Demand Careers website.
• Expanded the summer program to a Fall/Winter Program with 8
participants, 7 completed the program.
• Engaged WIOA Young Adults and engaged in a variety services, including
industry specific training and job search assistance.
• Contracted with Youth Empowerment Source to provide Youth and
Young Adult services in Cecil County
• Summer 2021: 38 potential summer youth for in person work
experience program. July- Aug. 5. 5 weeks/30 hours per week @$12/hr.

EARN Manufacturing
• Started an online Manufacturing program through 180 Skill in late
August 2020. Participants could take an online exam after completion.
• Production Technician Training commenced at HCC on May 3, 2021.
Final class of program was held yesterday evening, June 17.
• Working with HCC on a similar program for Incumbent workers, and a
follow-on to the recently completed program to commence in
September.
EARN Information
Technology/Cybersecurity
• Implemented a virtual IT/Cyber program cohort through HCC
in late May 2020, completed in early September 2020.
• Started a virtual A+ refresher program through HCC June 14,
2021. Will complete June 24th
• Will start virtual Security+ program (HCC) the second half of
July 2021.
• Scheduled to begin face-to-face cohort at HCC in late
September 2021. Will complete late January 2022.
• Received a new EARN grant which will commence in July
2021.
Project Forward
“Fostering Opioid Recovery, Workforce And Resource Development”
• Third Opioid related grant we have performed since 2018.
• Served thirty-one during first two grants.
• Will serve fifty-five during the four years of this current grant.
• Held two virtual partner meetings. Third one scheduled for July.
• Arranged for staff training.
• Strategized how to best serve clients during pandemic.
• Centers now opening. Kick services into high gear.

SWN COVID-19 Timeline 3/4/20 – First order of PPE & organized chaos begins 3/12 - 3/16/20 – Many SWN Partners move to mandatory telework & virtual services 3/24/20 – SWN moves to telework and virtual services 4/20 – All services except assessments are online & virtual 5/19/20 – Begin planning for “re-entry” to facilities 6/19/20 – SWN 1st Virtual Annual Meeting 7/20/20 – Limited staff return to SWN facilities 9/4/20 – 50% staffing at facilities eventually moves to 75% 9/25/20 –1st WBT virtual Job Fair/Expo 12/10/20 – MD DOL & SWN partner on 1st Virtual Job Fair 2/3/21 – Drive-up/drop off services begin at Workforce Centers 5/1/21 – Transition to 100% staffing and by appointment services 6/21/21 – All SWN Facilities fully open to the public

Youth Services • Expanded “in-house” Out of School Youth/Young Adult programing. • Utilized 180 Skills Employability Skills, an on-line self directed training platform. 20 out of 21 completed the program. Participants received stipends. • Hosted Weekly Career Exploration virtual meetings using the WIOA Partners High Demand Careers website. • Expanded the summer program to a Fall/Winter Program with 8 participants, 7 completed the program. • Engaged WIOA Young Adults and engaged in a variety services, including industry specific training and job search assistance. • Contracted with Youth Empowerment Source to provide Youth and Young Adult services in Cecil County • Summer 2021: 38 potential summer youth for in person work experience program. July- Aug. 5. 5 weeks/30 hours per week @$12/hr.

  • 10. EARN Manufacturing • Started an online Manufacturing program through 180 Skill in late August 2020. Participants could take an online exam after completion. • Production Technician Training commenced at HCC on May 3, 2021. Final class of program was held yesterday evening, June 17. • Working with HCC on a similar program for Incumbent workers, and a follow-on to the recently completed program to commence in September.
  • 11. EARN Information Technology/Cybersecurity • Implemented a virtual IT/Cyber program cohort through HCC in late May 2020, completed in early September 2020. • Started a virtual A+ refresher program through HCC June 14, 2021. Will complete June 24th • Will start virtual Security+ program (HCC) the second half of July 2021. • Scheduled to begin face-to-face cohort at HCC in late September 2021. Will complete late January 2022. • Received a new EARN grant which will commence in July 2021.

Project Forward “Fostering Opioid Recovery, Workforce And Resource Development” • Third Opioid related grant we have performed since 2018. • Served thirty-one during first two grants. • Will serve fifty-five during the four years of this current grant. • Held two virtual partner meetings. Third one scheduled for July. • Arranged for staff training. • Strategized how to best serve clients during pandemic. • Centers now opening. Kick services into high gear.
