Orangutans live in the rainforests of Sumatra and Borneo, where they spend their time high in the trees to avoid predators on the ground. They eat a variety of plants, fruits, insects, and bark. Orangutans are solitary outside of mother-offspring pairs, and the mothers care for their young closely for several years. Some interesting facts are that orangutans don't have tails, have large arms for swinging through trees, and can scoop up water with their big hands.
