Orangutans live in the rainforests of Indonesia and eat a variety of foods including eggs, bark, grass, leaves, ants, soil, durian, mango, plum, and fig. Their long red fur protects them from sunburn while living high in the trees. Orangutans are threatened by habitat destruction as humans cut down trees and capture their babies to sell as pets. Females weigh around 110 pounds and are 3 feet tall while males are larger at 198 pounds and 4 to 6 feet tall, with long arms to help them climb and cheek flaps to attract mates.
