This document describes a UV coating application that uses an analog PLC module to control the speed of an Anilex roller using a Delta VFD drive. A master encoder attached to the main unit transmits pulse commands to the PLC. The PLC converts the encoder pulses to a 0-10V analog output to control the Delta VFD drive speed and match the speed of the Anilex roller to the main unit. A wiring diagram shows the connections between the encoder, PLC, and Delta VFD drive to implement the master-slave control configuration.

7. PRINCIPLE OF WORKING
. MASTER ENCODER IS ATTACHED WITH THE MAIN UNIT.
. VFD IS COUPLED WITH ANILEX ROLLER FOR UV COATING.
. AS MAIN UNIT STARTS ROTATING ,
ENCODER STARTS TRANSMITTING PULSE COMMAND TO
PLC .
. MECHANICAL RATIO OF ROLLER DIA IS CONVERTED INTO
EQUIVALENT MULTIPLYING FACTOR .
. PLC CONVERTS THIS ENCODER PULSES INTO EQUIVALENT
(0-10V) ANALOG O/P AND SUPPLIED TO VFD.
. VFD ACQUIRES THE EQUIVALENT SPEED AS OF MAIN LINE
IMMEDIATELY AND HENCE VFD MATCHES THE SPEED OF
MACHINE.
