A complex project launched by our team in the German market that as then expanded worldwide. Using the most recent IoT technologies we launched a unique system that saves energy and resources while also optimizing spending. The solution consists of hardware items installed on heating devices and windows which are connected through a wireless network to software and cloud back-ends manage remotely. Through the control panel users can see current temperatures, reports, notification messages and configure heating parameters. There is a free mobile app (iOS and Android) that goes with the software that allows the user to take control of home heating from any place of the world.

Smart use of data will literaly always outsmart the use of big data. Which may mean enormous cost savings in the world of real-time monitoring and event-tracking. Presentation delivered for the Smart Cities track at the IoT Smart Summit on 21 September 2016
The Flemish Living Lab Platform was launched in October 2010 to promote and support living lab research in Flanders. Currently the platform is supporting several Smart City, Smart Grid and/or Smart Media projects. By introducing to you some practical examples the priorities and the added value of the Flemish Living Lab platform will be explained. As ultimate goal : define some new projects to co-create our own future.

Pakistan continues to grow through the crippling energy crisis and increasing remittances over time which has not only slowed the economy but also made the lives of its citizens hard. Our IoT-based Smart Grid System allows consumers to keep track of their total consumed electrical units along with real-time bill calculation through our Smart Energy Meter. It is designed to collect and monitor the consumption of electrical energy remotely and wirelessly communicate it to the consumer and supplier through a mobile app that we designed. Moreover, our system detects any type of power theft and enables bidirectional communication between consumer and supplier. It turns off the smart energy meter remotely in case of meter tampering and sends an alert to both parties as soon as power theft is detected. Thereby, the power system becomes more accurate and reliable by integrating IoT-based Smart Grid System.

WearableAgency - We develop home automation applicationWearable Agency
Home automation involves introducing a degree of computerized or automatic control to certain electrical and electronics system in a building.
These lighting, temperature control, etc.., this paper demonstrate a simple home automation system which contains a remote mobile host controller and several client module (home appliances).
The client modules communicate with host controllers through a wireless device such as a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, in this case, an android based smart phone.
Android Based Switch Controlling Technique for LED BulbsUsing Bluetooth/Wi-Fi...IJRES Journal
This paper presents an efficient approach to switch on/off and control the intensity of an LED bulb from a remote place using Android Applications installed in a Smartphone. As LED household bulbs and lights are energy efficient, drop-in replacements for the incandescent lighting found in homes and offices. These lights produce a warm brightness while providing a significant cost savings over traditional lighting. Bluetooth & Wi-Fi modules are used simultaneously as an interface that make connection between Android Applicationand the LPC2148 controller by which the generated output can be viewed with the help of an LED bulb and control various other devices, based on the availability in particular areas.
Validation of android-based mobile application for retrieving network signal ...nooriasukmaningtyas
In recent years, the evolvement of mobile devices which perform sophisticated functions have been on the rise. Mobile applications which solved engineering challenges are now available due to the high computational capabilities, large random access memory and storage location of the mobile devices. An Android application called signal detect, which measures network signal strength value from 2G-4G received on an android mobile device has been developed using android app development environment called Android studio. Validation becomes necessary because different readings were obtained on smartphones with different specifications. Two validation techniques were used to validate the data obtained. To know the efficiency of the application; a field strength meter was used to compare the readings received on the mobile device with the meter. It was observed that there is a time lag on the received values of the mobile device to the field strength meter. Therefore, a moving average technique was used to correlate the two data which increased the correlation coefficient to about 0.85.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Android operated Intelligent 230v AC
Lamp Dimmer
Abstract:-
The project aims in designing a system which makes 230V AC lamp dimming
through Google Android smart phone possible. The lamp dimming is done wirelessly
through Android smart phone using the Bluetooth feature present in it. Here in the project
the Android smart phone is used as a remote control for lamp dimming.
Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system,
middleware and key applications. Android boasts a healthy array of connectivity options,
including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and wireless data over a cellular connection (for example,
GPRS, EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution), and 3G). Android provides
access to a wide range of useful libraries and tools that can be used to build rich
applications. In addition, Android includes a full set of tools that have been built from the
ground up alongside the platform providing developers with high productivity and deep
insight into their applications.
