Canon 500D
The canon 500D was the type of camera we chose to use in our
production, we chose this because we felt it would give a
high level of quality which may have been difficult to
achieve with the common handheld cameras. We learnt that this
type of camera can be one of the best available for creating
a good picture quality with a high definition look. One of
the difficulties we had with using this camera is that it
took us a long time to understand how to raise the sound
levels so that it took in the right amount of noise and
The right sound quality on
the computer, however when we
worked together on the
different settings and learnt
how we needed to change them
to be appropriate for our
film we found filming a lot
easier and felt the camera
gave a better overall look to
the piece.
Blogger
Blogger was the blogging site I used
to upload information on my
production and I feel it was
important as it allowed for me to
use many online presentation tools,
which I may have overlooked if I
wasn’t working online. With my blog
I have learnt the skill of embedding
Information through the HTML area on my blog, something I
wouldn’t have been able to do, I have learnt how to
manipulate layouts on my blog, change images and overall it
has increased my understanding of how to use a blog and how
to make the content of it look as professional as possible. I
also feel that the blog has helped me to organise my work in
an effective manner so that it is easier to understand and
find a specific piece of work.
Final
cut
pro
Final cut pro was an editing
programme I had never used
before, as generally I chose to
use IMovie for its simplistic
design and understandable tools.
However as a group we decided
that it was important to create
the best quality of production
possible and we felt final cut
pro was the best way to do this.
Final cut offers a lot more
effects and layers for the
production which we tried out and
used in our production and we
found that once we had learnt how
to use all of the features we
found that it provided a smoother
look with more precision in the
cutting between different shots.
I therefore feel that learning to
use final cut rather than being
safe with IMovie was a good idea
overall.
Soundcloud
Soundcloud was where we
found our music for the
piece, we chose music from
here because it gave us a
strong base song to create
a soundtrack over the top.
Soundcloud is a website we
looked at often and got to
grips with using easily.
Due to the large amount of
songs offered we were able
to look through lots of
different types of music
and make an overall choice
on the music genre we
wanted to use.
Presentation tools
These were some of the presentation tools I used
on my blog, I felt each one was interesting
because they allowed for different techniques to
be used and they all produced different effects
that would gain the attention of the reader.
Websites like Prezi, animoto and powtoon all allow
the creation of free interesting
Presentations as well as pic
Monkey making any photos looking
More effective. Overall this
Allowed for a better quality on my
Blog and for me to trial and learn
About different techniques.
YouTube
YouTube is a tool I had a good understanding of before I uploaded
the video onto my blog using it, I liked using it because
although it took a long time to upload it gave the best quality
and worked really well with the cameras HD format. YouTube is an
important website in technological screening of a production and
it was one of the first to offer broadcasting videos online.
From YouTube I learnt how to embed videos to the blog, as
uploading straight to blogger can sometimes result in poor
quality. However YouTube doesn’t cause this risk, it links well,
and we learnt that we could use it in presenting our views on the
production and it became a very useful presentation tool.
