ANALYSIS OF STUDENT
ADVERTISEMENTS
Colour scheme : The colour scheme of this advertisement relates to the
Digipak itself. The colour of the digipak included the colours black,
Purple and green; these colours are also used for the advertisement.
Additional colour such as white has been used to highlight additional
Information. Background is black as is the background of the digipak.

An image of the digipak is placed on the advertisement, this allows the
Audience to identify the digipak; also the image of the artist is projected
Through the image of the digipak.

Fonts: the same fonts, style and colour are used in the advertisement,
As used in the digipak; the fonts for additional information are simple
and in white to contrast against the black background and make it
Easy for the audience to see.
Colours: The colours of the background of the digipak and the
advertisement contrast as the background of the advertisement is black
Whereas the background for the digipak is white; this may have been
Dont to make the digipak stand out whilst using its image on the
Advertisement. The colour pink is used in the digipak and
Advertisement. The artist name is in pink and so is the glow outside the
Artist herself; the colour purple may have been used as a motif.

The image of the digipak is included in the advertisement which makes
It easy for audience to identify the digipak

Image: the same image is used of the artist as used in the digipak;
This projects and reinforces the artists image.

Font: the font is unique; this particular font is used in the digipak again,
As this font is catchy due to its style it may catch the audiences eye;
This is a great way to make the artist name
constantly appear and be recognised.
Colours – the colours are kept simple as we can see there is a black background and
Bits of sparkly white portions of the image and also a red light shining off the face
Of the artist; this could possibly relate to the music video or and the digipak. As we
Know the colour red symbolises danger, blood; so we can perheaps guess that the
music video may include some form of danger or heartbreak.

Image – images used in the advertisement are also used in the digipak. The image
Used in the right hand side of the advertisement is also used in the inside of the digipak
This links the digipak and the advertisement as the same image is used in both
The digipak and advertisement. On the left hand side of the advertisement there is
Also the digipak itself which allows the image of the digipak to be projected on the
Advertisement as well.

Fonts - the fonts used are simple and not to complicated which will allow the
consumers to identify the artist name and album name easily. There are two different
Colours used in the album name and artist name which allows there to be a
Distinction between the two so it is easier for the consumers to identify this.
The availability of the digipak is also stated on the advertisement “HMV”.
