Contents Page

2. Title
The title of ‘contents’ is the biggest
text so the audience know what
page in the magazine they are
looking at now. Also it has been
positioned din the left corner so
there is more room on the other
two thirds of the magazine.
Underneath the title the issue date
is printed in a smaller font this is so
the audience know that it is there
but it’s not so big that it over powers
the title.
Images
Compared to front covers the images are
more dominant on the contents page as
the audience can focus more on pictures
rather than reading loads of text. As the
pictures are bigger it means more people
will be attracted to them especially if
they recognized artists or bands that are
on them.
Sub titles
Any subtitles on the magazine have
been put in different colours so they
are easily recognizable and its simple
for the reader to navigate around the
magazine.
Colour scheme
The colours on the contents always
reflect what's on the magazine as it
makes it clearer for the reader. Also only
3 colours have been used on this
contents page and it makes it look
organized and not to messy. The colours
used here reflect the genre of the
magazine which helps the audience
relate to what they are reading about.

3. Title
The title is the biggest text on the
contents page so the reader can
clearly identify what page in the
magazine they are reading. Also the
positioning of the masthead ‘Q’ has
been put in the left corner so there
is more room on the two thirds
that are remaining next to it.
Images
The images take up most of the contents
page as it looks more visual and more
appealing than a piece of text all over
the page. As the main image takes up
two thirds of the contents page its
making the audience aware that than is
a main cover line within the magazine.
This also makes them aware because it’s
the biggest image on the magazine so
they reader will look their first.
Page numbers
The page numbers have been clearly
displayed on the image so they reader
knows exactly where to find that cover line
within the magazine. Also the page numbers
and cover lines are bigger than the
description of the cover line so the audience
see them first as they want to be able to see
them standing out not searching the
contents page to see what's in the magazine.
Colour scheme
The colour scheme uses the same
colours as the front cover so the
reader gets a sense of familiarity.
Also it helps them relate to the
genre more as the colours reflect
that. The colours have been
narrowed down to 3 so it doesn't’t
get to messy and confusing for the
reader and it keeps the magazine
looking professional.

4. Masthead
The masthead ‘Billboard’ stays the same as it
was on the front cover to show that the
magazine is constant throughout. But the
masthead is different to the one on the front
cover as its much smaller, allowing the other
things like images and titles on the contents
page to be the main features.
Background
The main background is white and grey on the
first column which allows there to be a
distinct separation in features throughout the
contents page. The images and lists of
information are able to stand out on the
white background and give a unique look.
Charts list
This gives the audience an update on what
the current music is. And the different artists
are categorized by colours so the reader can
easily see the difference between each one.
This makes the chart look easier to read as it
has a lot of information on it.
Images
The images all consist of artists that will be
found throughout the magazine, which is
giving the reader an insight to what they will
be reading about. It grabs the audiences
attention by doing this as they see the variety
if information that the magazine has to offer.
The images don’t only promote the artists, but
it shows how the magazines content is varied
covering a wide range of artists, and this will
attract a wide range of audiences.
Subheadings
The list on the contents page have been
separated by subheadings to make it easier for
the reader to navigate round the magazine.
The page numbers are in black so they easily
stand out and the reader can find them
quickly.
