Alexander the Great united the Greeks and used their army to defeat the Persian Empire led by Darius, gaining control of Greece, Persia, Egypt, and parts of India. Through his conquests, he spread Greek culture, political systems, and economic structures. Alexander died young in 323 BC, leaving behind a multicultural empire and legacy of cultural encounters during the Hellenistic period.

2. Alexander the Great Unification of Greeks. Alexander united the Greeks to ultimately defeat their common enemy –the mighty Persian army led by Darius. When the general of Macedonia, Phillip II, was assassinated, Alexander had inherited the great Macedonian army from his father. Ambition.
