Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) is the leading Philippine milk company
with consistent brand leadership in the liquid canned milk category and
holding strong and growing position in the powdered milk category with
expansion into higher value-added milk products particularly in UHT /
Ready-to-Drink Milk Category. Due to its growing core businesses, AMC
endeavors to diversify and explore opportunities in related consumer
related products, thus paving the way to diversify and explore
opportunities in related consumer product categories.
In March 2012, FrieslandCampina, the fifth largest dairy company in the
world acquired a controlling interest in Alaska Milk. This partnership
strengthens Friesland Campina's position in Asia, which is a strategic
growth area for the dairy multinational. The company stated that this also
raises Friesland Campina's consumer products international annual global
revenues and provides the company with a platform that fits into strategic
"route2020goals".
In July 2013, AMC selected PTS to provided key expertise in a challenging
project to upgrade the existing site utilities. PTS provided all Design and
Construction Management Services for the construction of a new Central
Utility Building (CUB). The new CUB comprises a 3,600 m2 gross floor area
located on an existing brownfield site of approximately 12,000 ha, located
South of Manila in Laguna, Philippines.

Designed for efficiency and reliability the new CUB provides site wide
utilities to the following plant areas:
 Milk Powder Plant (MPP)
 Condensed Milk Plant (CMP)
 General Facility Building,
 Ultra-high Temperature (UHT) Building
 Distribution Center
 Administrative Building
Plant steam is provided via 3 x 12 TPH high pressure steam boilers
producing saturated steam. A chilled water system having a total
refrigeration load of 5,400 kW refrigeration load supplying chilled water for
process and air conditioning requirements. Compressed Dry Air is
provided by package air compressors providing approx. 6,500 m3/hr (free
air delivery). Back-up electrical power is provided by 3 x 3,375 kVA low
speed diesel generators with critical power provided by a 3,000 kVA Diesel
Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply (DRUPS) providing electrical power
to critical systems of the entire AMC site.
