The research article presents a transient stability performance analysis of power systems using FACTS devices, particularly focusing on the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) and its control strategies for damping inter-area oscillations. Results indicate that the proposed control strategy enhances voltage stability, reduces surge currents, and improves overall system stability and continuity of supply. Additionally, simulations demonstrate significant improvements in damping inter-area oscillations when using a Dual STATCOM controller in MATLAB/Simulink models.
