Global News:
The U.S. dollar rose toward a 16-month high against the euro on Friday as falling
equity prices spurred a flight to quality and the U.S. Federal Reserve reaffirmed its
monetary tightening stance, citing the strong U.S. economy .The S&P 500 fell
more than 1 percent, with shares of large technology, industrial and material com-
panies taking a hit as weak Chinese data and a slide in oil prices raised concerns
about global growth. Against the backdrop of a multi-billion dollar trade dispute
between Washington and Beijing, Chinese data showed producer inflation fell for
the fourth straight month in October on cooling domestic demand and manufac-
turing activity .
The pound has traded as high as $1.3176 this week, a three-week high, after Brit-
ain appeared to be edging towards clinching an exit deal with the European Union.
But work remains to be done before an agreement is reached, with both sides
struggling to decide on a mechanism for avoiding a hard border separating Northern Ireland, a British province, and
EU member state Ireland. The Northern Irish party that props up Prime Minister Theresa May’s government said on
Friday that her negotiations had raised alarm bells and that it would not support a Brexit deal that divided the Unit-
ed Kingdom .
A group of large institutional investors including BlackRock Inc and Allianz SE’s Pacific Investment Management Co
has sued 16 major banks, accusing them of rigging prices in the roughly $5.1 trillion-a-day foreign exchange market.
The banks being sued are: Bank of America, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Gold-
man Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Japan’s MUFG Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Royal Bank of Scot-
land, Societe Generale, Standard Chartered and UBS.

Jordanian drugmaker Hikma Pharmaceuticals HIK.L raised full-year revenue expec-
tations for its injectables division, its largest unit, for the second time in three
months as it supplies more opioid painkillers amid a shortage in the United States.
The company's shares rose 7.2 percent in early trading after it forecast injectables
revenue of $825 million-$850 million, up from its previous estimate of $775 mil-
lion-$825 million.
Profit after tax of 194 out of 195 market-listed public shareholding companies
which have provided the market with their financial statements, was 18 per cent
higher for the first three-quarters of 2018 compared to their results at the end of
the same period last year. In a statement released by the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) market Chief Executive Officer said their
profit rose to JD900.2 million from JD762, 7 llion. The industrial sector topped the
list of the companies which recorded higher profit, followed by the financial sec-
tor. As for the service sector, its profit dropped by 7.1 per cent.
Saudi Arabia is discussing a proposal to cut oil output by up to 1 million barrels
per day by OPEC and its allies.
Qatar's Commercial Bank has hired ANZ and Bank of America Merrill Lynch to
arrange a series of fixed income investor meetings ahead of a so-called Kangaroo
bond sale, a document issued by one of the banks showed. Kangaroo bonds are
issued by non-Australian issuers in the Australian market and are denominated
in Australian dollars. Representatives of Qatar's third-largest lender by assets,
which is rated A3 by Moody's, BBB+ by S&P, and A by Fitch, will start meeting
investors on Nov. 19, according to the document.
