Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan's economy, contributing 25% of GDP. The main agriculture products are cotton, wheat, rice, sugarcane, fruits and vegetables. However, the sector faces many problems including limited cultivable land, waterlogging and salinity issues, low crop yields due to outdated farming methods, lack of infrastructure and irrigation, and uneconomic land holdings. Improving access to resources like credit, seeds, machinery and research can help address issues and modernize Pakistan's important agriculture industry.
