Many students dislike homework because :
 It takes up all your time when you are already tired
 Children already work hard enough at school as it is
 Adults do not have to do homework, so it is not getting you ready for life as a grown up
 Some of it is what you’ve already done in school so you already know it and therefore it
is pointless
 It is never fun stuff that you would want to do
 Homework means that you are never away from school. Even in the holidays it is there
like a great big weight on your mind
 It’s really stressful
 Some kids cheat and get their parents to do it
"The children, the first exercise Homework (PR) guys. Done at home and in the correction
tomorrow. For those who do not gather, will not get the value. "
Hearing the words of PR, this is the daily diet of the students. Of course we were never attended
school education must have felt the ups and downs of the chores. However, the face of education
in Indonesia is always odd. When teachers give homework so the spirit, and not least the threat
of punishment or even give a reduction in the value if it is not done
So what about the way our educators? It turns out that PR can be given up pages and pages! Here
it is, it is not uncommon if the student is not interested in getting to learn and be educated. PR for
teachers, as appropriate homework to students is part of the lesson plan.
So it is very important for us to look in the mirror again, have the correct education we give to
give students the opportunity to learn properly, get effective evaluation through the homework
and also what benefits gained by the students. Not only elegant pursuit to fill the value of PR
students, alternative filling time for students in the interest of teachers, but the students' true PR
is also the PR for teachers.
Negative team
First, give homework or chores that need to have a function. For example, giving PR to evaluate
students' understanding of the material that has been explained in class, so as to test the student
teachers could give rumah. Its mean homework assignments for students not only as an
alternative filler made of time or series of interests of other teachers.
Second, the function of homework for students is to introduce new material. Seenggaknya,
students do not just wait for what will be explained in the next meeting of teachers. Or, at least
the students bring knowledge could make it understand when the teacher explains.
Third, education in most countries, even have a homework assignment policy issues.
Finally, PR is given to evaluate students who are then directed to the provision of feedback.
The Importance of Homework For Children accompany Although, the parents do not complete
the homework child / ronitbaras ANYONE who does not want to have a smart kid. However,
there are times when children are lazy to learn, let alone doing homework (homework). Though
PR is very important in the learning process.
PR is one of the instruments used in the learning of teachers. PR helps students to learn, skills,
and understanding of what they are learning. Giving homework to students through the process
of achieving the expected learning objectives that go both ways at school and at home.
Actually, given the PR beneficial for children to be able to practice to have a sense of
responsibility for a task. PR will finalize the concept of the child to the lessons that have been
acquired in school. That's why, PR is usually a matter of practice or a simple craft.
PR is also very useful, especially when there is school time is truncated national holiday, study
tours, and other events at the school routine. While on the one hand, the demands of the
curriculum continues to run. That's why, from the perspective of a teacher, inevitably have to
follow the system so that the curriculum can be fixed accordingly.
To examine the effectiveness of a PR for the students there are some important things. Marzano,
RJ & et al in 2001 in his book entitled "Classroom Instruction that Works" suggests that there are
at least four important things to consider when teachers give homework to students.
First, the amount of homework should be different for each level. The amount of homework for
elementary school students (SD) or High School (SMP) does not need as much and as heavy
with homework given to students from high school (SMA) for example.
Second, parental involvement kept to a minimum. The role of parents is more a facilitator as far
as it needed a child. Third, the purpose of each homework should be clear and can be translated
concretely. Marzano reminded, every form of PR is different. The purpose of homework should
be achieved with different forms of matter and issue PR berbeda.Tujuan administration typically
consists of two things, namely the practical preparation and elaboration or preparation for a new
material.
And fourth, the teacher should provide feedback (feedback) for any given PR. In research
conducted by Marzano, effectiveness and efficiency of a PR is very dependent on the extent of
feedback provided the teacher. PR never get feedback have "influence" lower than constantly
getting feedback.
Educators in the United States is still debating the benefits of giving homework. However, Prof.
Harris Cooper of Duke University, as reported in The Washington Post, who once said that there
is no relationship between academic achievement with homework, other than reading, the
elementary students, is now beginning to change their mindset. This time Cooper said different
things.
He stated, there is evidence that indicates the grade 2 to 5 SD better on tests, when they do their
homework with the basic skills that are directly related to the test. Cooper, who is also a
psychologist and director of Duke's Program in Education, said high school students should not
spend more than two hours each night struggling with the book.
While students in the middle class should have learned when to stop for 90 minutes. Average
elementary school homework 15-60 minutes. While high school students can get homework
completed in a matter of hours one night.
"In addition to child benefit, also became a media PR bond between parent and child. Each end
of the week, parents can utilize PR to re-make a bond that had drifted apart during the week
because of busy work, "he said.
So how do parents want the child to do homework so comfortably and easily? According to
psychologist Marie Hartwell Walker, Ed.D, parents need to continue to provide oversight. To
help children effectively, parents need to commit to the process. When still a child when you
become successful learners, there's nothing wrong channel long enthusiasm to the task of
children.
However, if you are having a difficult time in school and do not like homework, show changes in
natural behavior towards your children. Give a child a second chance when he experienced the
same thing.
"With your help, children can achieve a whole different experience with your school first," he
said.
Then, he added, provide quiet time. Try creating the future every day. However, also consider
the needs of children. Some children feel better doing homework so I got home, because they can
follow the rhythm of school. There also needs to be long enough sebeium he was able to
concentrate on homework.
"The important thing is to manage and maintain the regular time. Let's say, from 19:00 until
20:30 the night became quiet time for each family member. There is no television, phones, video
games, etc., "said Marie.
In addition, Marie asks parents to be role models. Children learn by example. During quiet time,
parents can do something, such as completing job-related tasks in the office. One of them,
preparing presentation materials. If the child is no homework, encourage him to read the book,
either alone or together.
Parents also must accompany the child with their homework. Not enough bragging ask children
finish their homework. You had better be in addition to the child when he makes homework.
"Parents can help or accompany the child during homework. Fine if you want to see the child
with her homework every few minutes. Every child wants that what he is doing is also important
for the parents, "he explained.
Although accompany, he insists parents do not complete all homework children. It will not be
much help if the parents are helping kids do all homework. Teachers also need to know what the
child and what the child is unknown.
They can only know it when you see the work and correcting when errors occur. It may be that,
as a parent, you want to help the kids to get a good grade.
"But, believe me, helping children excessively will not help them learn the material," said Marie.
