Introduction
 Aethusa cynapium is one of the best remedies for the
vomiting in children especially during dentition and in
hot summer weather due to intolerance of milk
 It is thirstless remedy and most important for cholera
infantum and also for epilepsy in babies

 It is frightful poison having narcotic properties as well
as paralyzing effects.
 The principal use we make of the drug arises from it’s
action on stomach.

Constitution
1. Make up of body : Features expressive of pain and
anxiety. Erruption on end of the nose. Sunkenness in
the face with marked linea nasalis. Physically the
child is so weak that he is unable to stand or hold up
the head
2. Temprament : Mentally the patient is idiotic, confuse
and unable to think

GUIDING SYMPTOMS
1) “Intolerance of milk in any form” i.e. mother’s milk,
cow’s milk, bottled and tinned milk.
2) Indigestion of teething children, vomiting is violent,
sudden, of frothy milk-white substance or yellow
fluid followed by CURDLE MILK AND CHEESY
MATTER.
3) Regurgitation of food an hour or so after eating.

4) Complete absence of thirst is very striking in this
medicine.
5)Physically great weakness; the child neither stand nor
hold up the head.
6) Mentally patient is idiotic; incapacious to think and is
very much confused.
7)Epileptic spasm with clenched thumb, red face, fixed
and dilated pupils, mouth filled with foam. Locked jaw

 Patient imagine that he sees rat or mouse running across
the room. Idiotic with incapacity of thinking anything
and confused.
 The features expressive of much pain and anxiety.

HEAD
 Distressing pains in the occiput down nape of neck and
spine > lying down and pressure.
 Head symptoms are >by passing flatus and by stool.
 Hair feels pulled.
 Vertigo; with sleepiness, with palpitation, with weakness.
 Can not raise head.
 Head hot after vertigo.
 Squeezing headache, with vertigo agg. walking and
looking upward.
 Dizzy and drowsy.

FACE
 Sunken; pale, puffed, spotted, red.
 Linea nasalis marked.
 Blue white pallor about the lips.
 Deathly aspect.
 Chin and corners of mouth feel cold.

MOUTH
 Tongue seems too long.
 Aphthae in the mouth.
 Speech slow embarrassed.
 Speechless.
 Taste bitter; of onions; of cheese; sweetish in
morning.

STOMACH
 Nibbling appetite.
 Intolerance of milk.
 Violent sudden vomiting of milk as soon as swallowed or In
large curds.
 Hungry after vomiting.
 LIMPNESS AND DEEP SLEEP AFTER VOMITING.
 DEATHLY NAUSEA.
 Regurgitation of food long after eating.
 Vomiting of frothy matter white as milk; or yellow fluid.
 Stomach feels tuned upside down.
 Digestion affected from brain exhaustion.
 Retching.

STOOL
 Yellow green slimy diarrhoea.
 Stools undigested.
 Obstinate constipation, with feeling as if all the action
of the bowel s has been lost.
 Choleric affection of old age.

Respiratory system
 Short breath interrupted by hiccough.
 Suffering renders the patient speechless.
 Crampy constriction in chest.
 Cough causes pain in head.
 Stitches in left side of chest.

Extremities
 Fingers and thumbs bent inwards or clenched.
 Sensation as if arms had become much shorter.
 Numbness of hands and feet.
 Heaviness, weakness, contraction of fingers.
 Excoriation of thighs on walking.

Fever
 Great heat without thirst.
 Must be covered during sweat.
 Sweating, on slightest physical effort.

Back and Extremities
 Want of power to stand up or hold head up. Back feels
as if in a vise. Aching in small of back. Weakness of
lower extremities. Fingers and thumbs clenched.
Numbness of hands and feet. Violent spasms.
Squinting of eyes downward.

BABY
 One can take the help of Aethusa cynapium as one of
the best remedies for vomiting in babies, cholera
infantum and epilepsy of children.
 The trouble occur normally during dentition in hot
summer weather, in children who cannot tolerate milk
in any form.
 Baby is very weak, can not stand up or hold the head
up.
 Weakness and prostration with sleepiness.

Cholera infantum
 If milk is drunk by the baby stays in stomach for long
time, it is vomited out finally as very sour curd, so large
in quantity that it would seems almost impossible that
the baby could have ejected them.
 The onset is sudden and the child lies stretched out in
unconscious condition.
 Causation: High temperature of summer, errors of
diet, dentition.

Convulsion or Epilepsy
 It has got particular symptoms of epileptic convulsion.
 Eyes are turned downward instead of upward or nside
wise.
 If the condition is worse, there is sunkennes on the
face with well marked linea nasalis. This symptoms
leads to this remedy.
 After spasm weakness and prostration with sleepiness
occur.

Modalities Worse, 3 to 4 am, and evenings; warmth, summer.
 Better in open air and company.

Introduction  Aethusa cynapium is one of the best remedies for the vomiting in children especially during dentition and in hot summer weather due to intolerance of milk  It is thirstless remedy and most important for cholera infantum and also for epilepsy in babies 3Prepared by RAXIT R.   • 7. Constitution 1. Make up of body : Features expressive of pain and anxiety. Erruption on end of the nose. Sunkenness in the face with marked linea nasalis. GUIDING SYMPTOMS 1) “Intolerance of milk in any form” i.e. mother’s milk, cow’s milk, bottled and tinned milk. 2) Indigestion of teething children, vomiting is violent, sudden, of frothy milk-white substance or yellow fluid followed by CURDLE MILK AND CHEESY MATTER. 3) Regurgitation of food an hour or so after eating. 9Prepared by RAXIT R.   • 10. 4) Complete absence of thirst is very striking in this medicine. 5)Physically great weakness; the child neither stand nor hold up the head. 6) Mentally patient is idiotic; incapacious to think and is very much confused. 7)Epileptic spasm with clenched thumb, red face, fixed and dilated pupils, mouth filled with foam. HEAD  Distressing pains in the occiput down nape of neck and spine > lying down and pressure.  Head symptoms are >by passing flatus and by stool.  Hair feels pulled.  Vertigo; with sleepiness, with palpitation, with weakness.  Can not raise head.  Head hot after vertigo.  Squeezing headache, with vertigo agg. walking and looking upward.  Dizzy and drowsy. 12Prepared by RAXIT R.   • 13. FACE  Sunken; pale, puffed, spotted, red.  Linea nasalis marked.  Blue white pallor about the lips.  Deathly aspect.  Chin and corners of mouth feel cold. 13Prepared by RAXIT R. VISHPARA
  • 14. MOUTH  Tongue seems too long.  Aphthae in the mouth.  Speech slow embarrassed.  Speechless.  Taste bitter; of onions; of cheese; sweetish in morning. 14Prepared by RAXIT R. VISHPARA

STOMACH  Nibbling appetite.  Intolerance of milk.  Violent sudden vomiting of milk as soon as swallowed or In large curds.  Hungry after vomiting.  LIMPNESS AND DEEP SLEEP AFTER VOMITING.  DEATHLY NAUSEA.  Regurgitation of food long after eating.  Vomiting of frothy matter white as milk; or yellow fluid.  Stomach feels tuned upside down.  Digestion affected from brain exhaustion.  Retching. 15Prepared by RAXIT R.   • 16. STOOL  Yellow green slimy diarrhoea.  Stools undigested.  Obstinate constipation, with feeling as if all the action of the bowel s has been lost.  Choleric affection of old age. 16Prepared by RAXIT R. VISHPARA
  • 17. Respiratory system  Short breath interrupted by hiccough.  Suffering renders the patient speechless.  Crampy constriction in chest.  Cough causes pain in head.  Stitches in left side of chest. 17Prepared by RAXIT R. VISHPARA
  • 18. Extremities  Fingers and thumbs bent inwards or clenched.  Sensation as if arms had become much shorter.  Numbness of hands and feet.  Heaviness, weakness, contraction of fingers.  Excoriation of thighs on walking. 18Prepared by RAXIT R. VISHPARA

  • 20. Back and Extremities  Want of power to stand up or hold head up. Back feels as if in a vise. Aching in small of back. Weakness of lower extremities. Fingers and thumbs clenched. Numbness of hands and feet. Violent spasms. Squinting of eyes downward. 20Prepared by RAXIT R. VISHPARA

BABY  One can take the help of Aethusa cynapium as one of the best remedies for vomiting in babies, cholera infantum and epilepsy of children.  The trouble occur normally during dentition in hot summer weather, in children who cannot tolerate milk in any form.  Baby is very weak, can not stand up or hold the head up.  Weakness and prostration with sleepiness. 21Prepared by RAXIT R. Cholera infantum  If milk is drunk by the baby stays in stomach for long time, it is vomited out finally as very sour curd, so large in quantity that it would seems almost impossible that the baby could have ejected them.  The onset is sudden and the child lies stretched out in unconscious condition.  Causation: High temperature of summer, errors of diet, dentition. 23Prepared by RAXIT R. Convulsion or Epilepsy  It has got particular symptoms of epileptic convulsion.  Eyes are turned downward instead of upward or nside wise.  If the condition is worse, there is sunkennes on the face with well marked linea nasalis.
